I just got hit again with another bogus $49.95 charge on my brand new credit card. Only used 3x at Ahlusion, RTDVapor and PayPal for a classy purchase. So one of those three places has a security issue. Card was not even a month old; not even dirty yet. Another place in Florida, this one with a phone # for a name. I won't call the phone #.
I really want to track the security breach down so I know where I can not buy from anymore. All 3 are important repeat vendors for me. Makes me real REAL mad. This is getting old. Going to call Citibank tomorrow and see what a supervisor can do to help track it down. Think they care, nope I bet. Maybe I will make Citi FedEx me a new card overnight again like they had to do last month.

Well I don't like it. I had 2 of those charges last month and I didn't use it at any of those vendors. Does it start with an 888 number from Florida? When I put it into Google it came up as a point of sale scam - Target, Home Depot, Subway, Goodwill and about 10 other stores (put they are still counting). It's been going on for 18 months and no one noticed. Thieves would just tap in once in awhile and grap data then leave. They don't know how many people will be affected. But this scam is IN store, not online. Essentially we're never safe using a cc. I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more attention other than they don't know a heck of a lot of details - the culprit is C&K Retail Systems. Yea, like we'd know that. I'll remember it though. This time my bank caught it but they are treating it like I messed up!!!! I'm having to go through "dispute" and it's taking weeks. I've been following the story on Ars Technica.
They need to do a LOT more about security. Make heads roll!

I am so sorry. I agree, it is amazing they can touch us so deeply and as painful as it is to let them go, I wouldn't trade a minute of it.
Well, this may be the only good thing about being so poor at the moment; we've got about $25 in our acct, and we do not have that "overdraft protection" thing, and what that means to our bank is that if a card transaction is attempted when there is not enough to cover it, it will be refused -- it saves those dang fees, and I keep a very close eye on what we actually have anyway, so *we* would never try to pay for something that was more than what we have.

I only used that new card one time each with Ahlusion, PayPal and RTDVapor. I only had the card a couple of weeks. Never used in a retail setting or anywhere else. So only 3 culprits for this one. Credit card company told me they are going to investigate the 3 companies, I think they may be telling me that just to shut me up. I am quite angry. They are FedExing me a new card tomorrow.

No, I think they do investigate these things quite avidly; fraud is their worst nightmare, and it's also not good for their business for their customers to be hit like this. I got my money back the very next day after I made the report, and also signed a bunch of papers that I would cooperate in any prosecution that may result, giving testimony, etc.
I think when enough banks get on this, they'll catch whoever's responsible. Money is their religion!

Hey Everyone, It has been crazy here lately.
Just over a week ago I fractured a vertebra in my back due to an abnormal heart condition. Of course if anyone asks, I got into an elevator with Ray Rice... or I was base jumping off my couch, or...(I have a million excuses to explain this stupid brace.)
Anyways since I passed out a few times, the ER ran an ECG and Chest X-Ray. (Among other things.) On the Chest X-ray they did find an "abnormal growth" which is seriously making me think I need to stop smoking sooner rather than later. So if someone would be kind enough to post a link to aroma I would appreciate it. Hopefully I can find some flavored WTA I like well enough to help me kick the habit.
On a happier note, I had some family in from out of town that I haven't seen since I moved here. It was a nice visit.
Time for some pain meds, and to maybe catch up on some stuff on the DVR.

That does sound spooky. Sorry to hear it. A lot of false positives can show up on xrays - at least I hope that's true for you. The first flavor I liked at Aroma was the Dark Honey Tobacco and I don't normally like tobacco. I just read the reviews. I tried the Tobacco Road next and it was too dry and ashy; much more like a cig. Perfect if that's what you want. Their flavors are pretty accurate to description. If you can swing the unflavored, it's nice to add to your current adv. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
You can put in the phone number into Google like a reverse look up phone directory. That's how I found out who it was. It's the payment processers and cc data goes through a bunch of different hands, every step of the way is vunerable. The fact it hit you within a month should provide a good lead I'd think. All in all, that's really ....ty luck to be hit with that again - and some very crappy security somewhere.
My guess is if they are 'blowing you off' it's because they already know about this flaw since it's happening to millions right now. Not very comforting. They deserve to hear it.
I've looked at prepaid cards in the grocery and they've had some vague terms when it comes to additional fees. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong ones, maybe they vary by state, idk, but I wasn't too impressed. I was going to talk to my bank about getting a virtual card that I could transfer just enough funds to cover a purchase with. I've heard some banks offer that at no charge.

I got hit a few months ago after a purchase at Ahlusion, I have used Paypal and several others since and have not had another bogus charge. Honestly I am suspecting Ahlusion's processor since it appears a LOT of people have had this happen after shopping there. The fact that they won't accept the refillable credit cards is a real problem, hopefully they figure this out before I run out of CPBT. I have enough to last me a few months as it is a once in a while vape for me, but honestly I am afraid to order from them at the moment.
There's another thing that would be useful, but so far I haven't seen any vapish vendors that offer it -- VISA Checkout -- basically you use a password rather than a credit card number. I got signed up for it, after my hit from the hackers, but so far it has't done me any good.

That's what I did, and discovered a link to an "offshore" company that seemed really shady, as well as a link to an online-newspaper's (in Boston) Police Blotter page, with info about an internet scam report.
I've heard of this, and I know that Bank of America credit cards offer it, but I dunno if my current bank (BB&T) offers anything like that; we only have debit cards from them, and I don't know if anyone offers this service for debit cards.
