I saw your site last night. Didn't have a lot of time to play around in it, but it looks good. I am grateful for your efforts. (I used to do a little web building and know what kind of work you must be putting into it.) But I have it bookmarked and will surely visit it more.
Also see you are a fan of MFS. :) I like that site. Bought my whole nic stockpile from them (probably a decade's worth in case of vapepocalypse). It's my primary vaping shop.

God, YES! I figured, that first quit was so easy, I can just do that again. Mmhmm. Turned out to be a LOT harder the 2nd time; it really took a massive effort of will -- that mystical "willpower" the ANTZ are always yammering on about. And the WTA, of course. :D

I sure won't make that mistake again!

Speaking of WTA... I had been wondering a lot about it, and started following some links to find out more about those minor alkaloids and naturally-occurring MAOIs that are included in WTA. I recently set up a vaping website, so I wrote an article for the site, to try and pass on the little bit I learned about what they really are. If anyone cares to read it, it's at Vape Fight - About WTA

I don't buy as much from them as I used to, but I still check their prices first on a lot of the stuff I buy, and I will always be grateful for their Virginia ejuice, it tastes just right for someone who's been a diehard Virginia Slims smoker for decades! I also got my first iTaste kit from them; for the whole starter kit, their price may still be one of the best, though I can't recommend those iClear 16 tanks, I thought they were awful.

I've still got a lot of work left to do on the site; need to plug in ALL the vendors I've come to trust, in the weblinks section, but so far have only managed to get a few of the firebrand political vaping sites added. :D

I'm planning another article, for getting started with vaping, and different progressions along the way, but it's still in the mental stage at the moment. The WTA article was pretty much off the cuff, I started it this morning just in getting some of the info organized that I've been reading for the past week, and it came together so well, I figured the site was a good place for it. I found all that info online, but it was a process of condensing information from about a half-dozen different sites, and most wouldn't have time or patience for that, so I figured a condensation of some basic info about WTA was a good thing for anyone who's curious about it.

Tim. I am going to recommend that for part of your vape journey that you go what most people would call backwards. You have been power smoking and now power vaping. Maybe try slowing it way, way down.

Think about picking up something like a Vision Spinner and a few basic 510 attys and vape the 3 drops at a time. Pay attention to each drop you put in the atty. It will really slow your roll and enable you to think about what you are doing, think about the ritual, the process, the taste of your juice, watch the vapor. And sit down in the same spot at home when you do this.

Like you would,
in a quiet place,
like you would,
to immerse yourself,
in a good book,
you want to savor.

Like a titled gentleman in the English countryside in his morning jacket seated before the fire with a good cognac his pipe or cigar. Only it is you and your vape. And quiet from the world.

I am not saying to do this all the time, but pick a few times during your day and maybe the hour before bed and slow it all down. I am hearing what sounds like you are in a whirlwind of thoughts and stress and changes and decisions in your life right now. You can make the vaping simple, like meditation. Let it get you into a habit of relaxation which is what will help in the long run, I think.

Just some thoughts.

Oh I like those thoughts. Thank you Shari.
And yes, you are correct. My mind has been going non-stop for months. I have always been noted as a deep thinker, but this is crazy. And there are so many things going on up there. However, it has been getting better as the months go by. Learning to cope with it all. But yes, even as I find peace, the old noggin just won't quit. I find myself still thinking in my sleep. I mean, I know the brain works while we sleep. But I actually wake up conscious of what I was thinking about while I was sleeping.

Actually, upon further thought of what you were saying, it makes me think of something I skirted on before but have really been taking notice and giving a lot of consideration lately.

When I first started vaping, my experience was very much "I WANT to vape. I PREFER to vape. I ENJOY vaping."

Then after falling of the wagon, my thoughts have been primarily "I NEED to vape. I SHOULD be vaping. I HAVE to get back to vaping."

And those thoughts are kinda laced with duty, chore and guilt. These are not powerful motivators.

So I have been thinking on this lately that I need to get back to the thoughts before. Because if I relax on it, I really do want, prefer and enjoy vaping more than cigarettes. I really don't like smoking anymore.

I think in either regard - as what you describe or what I am now describing - there is a necessity to get back to that original enjoyment and preferment to vaping. Which really isn't that hard, if you let yourself. Because vaping is better - better for your body, more fun, more control, more ability to tinker, change and dial in different things. It is "guilt-free" in a sense. etc etc.

Anyways, just some more thoughts I had recently that were brought back to the surface as I was out and about considering what you had said.

It is "guilt-free" in a sense. etc etc.

Anyways, just some more thoughts I had recently that were brought back to the surface as I was out and about considering what you had said.

I went thru some of that too, when I had my month back to smoking. One thing that helped a lot was that I had become conscious of how it actually *felt* to smoke; sure it banishes those cravings lickety-split, but it also really burns your mouth. Now maybe that part seemed worse for me, because I had to take a course of antibiotics after my surgery, one of my incisions became inflamed so they were dosing me with some POWERFUL antibiotics, so naturally I ended up with a raging thrush infection in my mouth -- but vaping didn't hurt it; smoking burned like I was eating pure pepper! It made the inside of my lips feel puckered, dried out, like I'd been eating alum or something.

Another part of it that was really unpleasant was the smell; after I had been outside smoking, as soon as I came back in, I'd have to wash my hands immediately, to get that stink off -- and if I walked over by the front door after I'd been in for a few minutes, I could still smell that stink just from having brought it in on my clothes and breathing it out. And my husband seemed to notice it a lot more too, than he ever did before I ever quit the first time; he became adamant that after I'd been out smoking, that I not approach him and try to talk, for at least a few minutes afterward. He never gave me any grief about the smell, before the first quit, so I can only suppose that the 3 1/2 mo of smoke-free had removed his tolerance for it.

I do know this: I've suffered with depression, anxiety, and myriad low-self-esteem issues my entire life, but quitting smoking has done more for my self-esteem than a lifetime of therapy. I felt this way a bit, after I got sober, after my first year of sobriety, etc, but it never felt this intense -- I've finally done something for myself that I spent over 30 yrs *wishing* I could do, but never could... till e-cigs. And when I went back to smoking, even knowing it was going to be temporary and brief, it just about killed something inside me. When I finally laid them down again, the relief was intense -- I had my self-esteem back. That's why I didn't mind going the WTA route -- whatever it takes, to help me stay smoke-free -- it's completely and entirely worth it.

Got a facebook message from a friend I don't see often anymore. He just bought an ecig to switch from cigars and chewing tobacco. He didn't think to ask me for advice till after he spent 70 on a 1100 mah battery and bottom coil tank (wierd heads, think aspire threads with a vivi nova top piece) and 2 spare heads. His next upgrade is already planned for next month. Lol. Plans to change ti a vv battery, possibly a 18650 tube mob just for the swappable batteries. Went to local vape shop and he found a few flavors he likes. Should last him a while. Or at least until he asks for online companies.

Also ran into an old school mate at the vape shop. Seems hr works there now. Started about 3 weeks ago. Never smokes. Is allergic to cigarette smoke. Quizzed/drilled him on knowledge. Passed everything except battery safety. Said first coil he built was .3 ish and hasn't metered since. And says he is safe since he is using a vtc5. Blah. Drilled battery knowledge into him. He does the math now lol. Then had a customer come in with a .25 ohm build asking for 18350 batteries to use with it. Said there us none that are safe. Guy called me a liar and said his at home ran it fine but the battery died quickly. And doesn't hold a charge for very long after a minth of use. Well no duh. Tried to explain battery safety to him but claimed to work in an electronics plant nearby and says he knows what he is talking aboyt. Ok then. Have fun, dont use your device near me. Since you know it all, you already know where and what batteries to use.

It really is a waste of time to try and teach those who are certain they already know everything. They usually can't be disabused of that notion until they're in intensive care. If they're real lucky.

The problem with people like that is they are gonna end up getting hurt. When the fda gets wind if that it's gonna cause ecigs to get banned for everyone. I just wish people would use their heads but you can't change stupid. /rant

i agree w this wholeheartedly.
have a friend who both vapes & is 2nd amendment enthusiast . is safety conscious w both & schooled me re: battery safety & sub-ohming

i made an analogy 2 him that he really enjoyed.
i likened ppl like this 2 the difference btween a responsible, well-studied safe gun owner making a case 4 gun rights vs. the guy holding a round in a pair of channel locks trying to fire it by hitting it w a ballpeen hammer and yelling "I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT"

I completely agree. We have a local b&m the guys that work there mostly vape in pulse range. They are absent mindedly build coils for customers that is in pulse range without letting the customer know. That's getting annoyed

I think we've finally got it though their heads. They have started building higher coils for beginners. They are even gonna do a rebuilding class for beginners before the Halloween party

That's good! A lot of beginners might get a Kayfun or a dripper, because someone told them it was vaping nirvana... but maybe they still have a spinner or something like that to put it on... they won't be able to figure out why that "perfectly good" battery won't fire it, and if it's below about 1.4 ohms, it's not going to. A friend here in the forum ran into that when he bought a kayfun, and the B&M built it for him to 1ohm... he couldn't use it!

Or, even if they build it to 1.5, those beginners are going to wonder why they're getting such crummy battery life, not knowing a thing about ohms law and amp draw. That's just not very nice to a beginner!
