Just because the leaders of this country...dems and rep alike and whatever other party you are aligned with.......have taken bullying out of the classroom and into public view DOES NOT mean that each of us should act the same way they do.......its as if people feel its OK to be abusive, rude, and insulting to others and downright mean spirited....

What has happened to common decency? I am ashamed and downright ...... off that people behave as if it is their right to be a bully if they don't like something......there is a hell of a lot I don't like but I will not lower my standards to your level.........

GEEZ Wake up people.......is this the lesson you want your children to follow? What do you tell your kids at night,........its ok to act like an idiot because everyone is doing it?????

Sheep......the lot of ya......

Go ahead and flame this posting as I will not be responding as I have had my say.....I have a life.....thankyouverymuchandhaveagoodday!!!!!!!!!!!!

You do realize vaping products are legally considered to be tobacco products too.

I don't agree with every post made here on the forum either but I certainly wouldn't tell someone not to post their own opinion.

And yes I am a cranky old woman. I couldn't stay young forever. :(

But they're "tobacco products" in the US because Congress decided to make 1984 happen with a bit of NewSpeak dictionary changes. This nicotine is a tobacco product, that nicotine isn't because they pay us to not be one.

Plus most ecigs aren't stinky:D
Maybe when combustable tobacco is a thing of the past honey flavored eliquid will be called stinkies.

I learned every thing that I ever need to know about political correctness and bullying at my mother's knee. I learned to treat others fairly, politely and to consider their feelings. At seventy-three, I still do.

Wow good thing I'm not too active in this forum because I'm about to be brutally honest here. I just want to say respectively that I believe people who call them "stinkies" is a creative way to help people publically give cigarettes a bad name. And even though I don't call them that, I respect those who do because unpopularizing tobacco products is the right thing to do. But what I see here with you guys is honestly a bunch of cranky old men who want to complain about something petty. Stop. It's okay to be annoyed at stupid words people make up but it is for a good cause and I think you need to drop it. Calling it "juvenile" makes sense I guess but you're obviously complaining about it. Something that quite honestly doesn't need to be complained about.

Yes, "stinkies" are petty.

And for Anna...

ju·ve·nile (jvə-nīl′, -nəl)

adj.
1. Not fully grown or developed; young.

2. Of, relating to, characteristic of, intended for, or appropriate for children or young people: juvenile fashions.

3. Marked by immaturity; childish: juvenile

While 'juvenile' as a noun can also be a young person or animal, I believe you understand the meanings I intended...as an adjective.

Perhaps you'll usher forth a few hundred more words on the meanings of words.

Tell me about it. I've had enough of this "clap back" and "cisgender" nonsense to last a lifetime. The E#nglish language has plenty of terms and phrases to last us for a very long time.

I like reading page 1 of these long threads then skipping to the last page to see how the subject of the original post has completely disolved into something else.

When I began vaping I heard the term stinkies from a former smoker and wondered how during our chat, the subject had gone from smoking 4 packs a day to dirty diapers... mid sentence.

Then it dawned on me..."Oh, he's talking about cigarettes".
Upon arriving here I see others calling them stinkies.

Eh, live and let live. Life's too short to trip on the little stuff.

analog [noun]:
  1. A person or thing seen as comparable to another.
  2. (Chemistry) A compound with a molecular structure closely similar to that of another.
Source - Oxford English Dictionary

In the interests of cross-cultural exchange, here are some British alternatives for "Stinkies" [which I assume is an American slang term, never having come across the term this side of the pond]:
  • Fags
  • Ciggies
  • Coffin nails
  • Tabs
  • Snout
  • Straight (factory made cigarette)
  • Rollie (hand rolled cigarette)
  • Cancer sticks
  • Gasper
  • Weed (frequently used between fellow tobacco smokers, not meaning drugs)

Yeah, but where did the "analog" term come from?

I used to be a vape-term gestapo on this forum! something that's interested me for some time now is just how much influence the ECF regulars between 09 and 14 (&beyond) had on everything from the terms/vocabulary we used and still use, and the product development of our hobby. I remember stretches of time spent making dozens of posts a night encouraging people, especially in the new members forum, to call clear cartomizers clearomizers haha. this at a time when even venders were calling them cartomizers.

I always preferred the analogues term to stinkies... never really pushed for it. Tootle puffers, on the other hand... I ran a short but valiant campaign to change the name to toodle POOFERS, ahh but alas, it never stuck :(

"Stinkies"..... who-da-thunk that word could cause so much debate?

As a teen I smoked a brand called Merit. My mom and dad smoked Pall Mall 'gold'. Both would say "those things stink" about my favorite brand. To this day I have Merit stuff from points, long before Marlboro did. And it was all top of the line stuff.

My pop switched to "Basic" brand for a while. Now to me those things stank.

I smoke a brand of local grown tobacco by a small company who only use pure tobacco so they smell like good old fashioned Richmond tobacco from the old days. I cannot say folks say "mmmm they smell nice", but nobody says "get that stinkin' thing away from me".... well except haters... you know the type. They hate balloons, sunny days and children laughing in the park as they the feed ferel cats.

Now that I've cut back a lot, whenever I enter my vehicle I'm astonished that even though I hadn't smoked in it for 12 hours it smells like one was smoked in it a few minutes prior and smoke stll lingers.
