I don't have the Sidewinder, as I have never been a fan of side/top juice fill screw holes in tanks. It's purely a preference thing. Although I work in the medical field and am completely comfortable using a needle & syringe, using one is not my preference for filling my cartotanks with juice. I much prefer using a tank tool and sliding the carto down to fill it. Takes me the same amount of time.
I got a couple of Ray's first pyrex cartotanks when he began selling them just over a year ago, and did a review of them http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tank-reviews/312709-valley-view-tanks-7ml-pyrex-tank-review.html.
Ray used the silicone grommets initially on all of his tanks. To fill these, you had to insert a needle into the silicone to add juice. After awhile this became tedious and the needle punctures eventually made the grommets look ratty. Eventually Ray offered the metal endcaps, and I replaced all the grommets with metal endcaps. This was a major improvement.
You can see one of my original grommet tanks in the first pic, and the same tank with the replacement metal caps in the second pic. Ray also offered frosted glass at one point (not sure if he still does); the third pic shows a clear and frosted tank.
These look nice on larger mods like a Silver Bullet, but can look rather top-heavy on a slimmer mod like my black BB. A couple of these tanks took a fall from a locker room bench onto a tile floor at work and shattered. I posted about this on ECF and Ray sent me a free tank to trial. (As always, thanks Ray.) He explained that he had recently switched his glass supplier to a new and different one. I did use the new tank. But since I rarely use the larger Silver Bullet anymore and am using smaller/slimmer mods now I rarely use the newer tank. It currently has some green Pluid in it which I pull out every once in awhile for something different to vape.

On top of the previously mentioned pluses, they are simply more convenient. never let them get below 30% empty and they seem to last forever unless you are a chain vaper. cartos by themselves are easier on the pocket in portability and price.

It's so newbie to talk about superiority. Taste is subjective, you use what you like. When the first bad batch of cartos hit you, you'll think twice.
Always remember, the more filling/wicking material you have, the more propensity to burnt taste you'll have.

Hummmm, no. Attys have very little wicking, and dripping is said to have the most flavor. Carto tank fans I respect but superior? No. Remember Bogegate...
Actually, you can get burnt taste from a drip atomizer just as easily as a carto or a clearo. All three require the correct amount of juice surrounding the heating coil. Too much juice and you flood the coil. Too little, and you burn the heating coil.
Hey! I'm not about arguing with you... I'm just saying to each its own. I hold poor memories of cartos, flooded, dry, funny tasting. I prefer bottom coils each time, every time. Not to mention that you can't wash them and put a new flavor, that's if you want to repeatedly boil them... And carto tanks that slip and are messy to refill... No, I want to banish that chapter on vaping completely from my head.
But not easy to carry around either. With an 18650 battery installed Bobo weighs over half a pound.
That would be great for my wobbly living room table. My cats and my husband are going to crack my Protank or mess my SVD. I have to keep it upright in a coffee cup. And with the term on, it's a boom when it falls down...
That is the one downside about cartos. Not wash and wear.....................
Sorry, maybe it is just how I am interpreting this, but I see response as insulting and rude! The OP is new to vaping. Cartos are working great for them. Can we be supportive and helpful rather than snarky? If you don't like cartos, move along and don't reply--it is very simple. Throwing around veteran status to diminish the experiences of a new vaper is deplorable. This is supposed to be a supportive community to help others.

Everyone will have a different experience with different battery devices and juice delivery devices, not to mention different juice flavors. You won't know which one(s) that you'll prefer unless you give each an equal opportunity and fair shot. Read the title of the thread. THAT's rude. So noob. Superiority is a punch to my guts, makes me feel that after 4 years of vaping I, and people like me, are ...... because we don't vape carto tanks.
