So - my take. I am a serious MTL vaper. From the V4 to the V5 - I feel I lost my best friend to quote a good pal.

I appreciate the people that want to make clouds, and I appreciate svoemesto striving to cater to that market. However, IMHO, the center hole under the coil is TOO large!

As someone above said, I HOPE the "special part" they mention is a reducer, back to the 4S kit diameter - that's my perfect world. As mentioned, like a 4S kit in reverse.

Like the air-flow, and it's supposed to equal V4, V4-S, etc., but it doesn't. For me. Not in terms of vapor or flavor.

Overall, thumbs up, but is really unusable for me until they restrict the airflow hitting the coil.

I like the unique shape of the V4, I don't like all that glass on the V5. I knock my V4's over on the table several times a day and have never broken the glass. Have never used the PC or Steel section.

Yes, the V4 is a bi**h to build on - I am a dedicated SSV - TiWire fanatic - 7 wraps 0.5mm, 2.5 mm dia. .23-.25 religiously. NOTHING else. It works (with the gold spring).

Anxiously awaiting the release of the "special part".

Anyone wishing to "get rid" of a V4 they've had on the shelf that's new or barely used, I'm buying!

I'm a big fan of thoughtful and honest product reviews, and you did a great job of that, so thank you! I think the K5 will work out great for me, mainly because it will be my first Kayfun and I like more open MTL draws and I don't mind slightly restricted DL draws. In it's current configuration, without the upcoming part, it seems that it will fit my particular use quite well.

That said, I hope they come out with the new part very soon so that long time Kayfun users can feel the love again. I'm sure I'll get the new part as part of the kit to give it a try as well.

I haven't tried, but are we sure the v3 mini centre post dose not fit in the kayfun 5? Are we sure it's not the same size?

In reality all they need to do is come out with a base identical to the v3 mini

Or we should just buy the v3 mini and stop discussing the v5.

V5 to me at this point is a fail - I am still experimenting with it, but it shouldn't be this hard)

My next try is more wraps, spaced coils to try and cater for that wider centre hole.

I thought it was just me, but as others have said the taste is worse and you get a harsher throat hit (rather than smooth) when MTLing the v5

I haven't seen anyone monkey with the innards of the V5 yet. Until I see online someone else risking their $120 purchase, I'll leave mine alone.

I really like the V3 mini, except for the tiny build deck and juice capacity. For the mini, 5 wraps TiWire, .4mm around a 2.5 dia - I think around .17 ohms. Vapes decent. Airflow is just about right, but not the same flavor as the V4 the way I vape. Probably has something to due with surface area of coil, maybe?

I go temperature control only (obviously - SSV TiWire). I've got several DNA 200's - but leave them locked at 40 watts. Perfect vape.

Why 200's? I've also got several DNA 40's - just do not regulate the way the 200 does.

Looking forward to the DNA75 and seeing how it performs.

I know there's not a lot of you do temperature control and fewer still that can "deal" with the finicky way the V4 does it. But, V4 is all that I've vaped on for almost a year. I've tried others and have a couple boxes of different varieties of tanks - that I give away to newly converted vapers on a regular basis, because I just don't do or want clouds.

Interested to see about the v3 mini you mention.

I can say that I believe from what I have seen that the Mini V3 and V5 use the same 510 screw, 510 screw insulator, and Center Post Insulator, and Center Post O-Ring.

The difference occurs above the Center Post Insulator, as the V5's diameter is the same (larger) all the way to the Air Hole.

Thus, if possible, the Mini V3 Deck and Deck Insulator would have to be used to make the change.

But, I wonder Why would anyone want to mess with perfection???

Bit the bullet and ordered a v5 today... and also a steamtuners tank because "shinyitis"! lol
Shall be quite interesting, as with all the various tanks I've owned I have never actually had a Kayfun before. :p
Do you mind letting me know where you found your v5? Anyways congrats and don't worry shinyitis is a very common disease around here 8)

I had the restock email pop up about 90 minutes ago.

edit: They're still in stock as of right now. And the site is navigable enough when switched to english. :)
