 Uhhhhhh where can I move? Washington is out....maybe Fiji?

Duane,

I was thinking about that for Mnt-Baker what if they get to AZ and you folks change the laws their. It's not like AZ is a southern extension of Colorado. It wouldn't take but a couple of moves to put them right out of business.

Remind me to send Legs a box of coal for Xmas. I know don't blame the messenger. :-x

How can they tax you if you buy it over the internet? I've almost never had to pay sales tax when buying over the internet.

Try that with cigarettes and they will be knocking on your door to get their Tax money or you (either, or both).

Hey....I wouldn't be surprised if in 3-5 years vaping won't be pounded into the ground almost everywhere. It's like that video ...gotta make up for the tax money were losing on tobacco because all those smokers are going to vaping. Then there are those people who are deathly afraid that someone somewhere might be having fun. Between the two camps were not in a great position.

They decry cigarettes and their harm to health, and claim the taxes are a deterrence.

Yet, when a healthy alternative cones along they want to legislate and tax it into oblivion.

It would just be nice if places like the CA Health Dept and other local fixtures would just admit they don't give a crap about anyone and just wanna get paid. I could respect them more if they went public with their actual stance.

I'm with you on that. I'd much rather they just taxed us in a normal way to get whatever they need...but....folks vote against general taxes...and are quite willing to put sky high taxes on whatever doesn't effect them....soooooo since there aren't that many vapers we're gonna take it in the backside. What is it they call it?....Sin Tax.....yeah, it' s only the other guy who's a sinner.

The bill proposes to ban online sales in Washington, which is why Mt Baker Vapor is leaving. As to tax on Internet sales outside of Washington, that's likely going to be very difficult to enforce unless Congress or our Federal courts change existing law. Also, they don't have the constitutional power to ban sales of vaping products over the Internet. States only have that power with respect to alcohol, due to the way that the 21st amendment was written.

The worst thing that could happen with respect to bad laws like these is if the Federal government, through Congress or the FDA, restricted online sales of vaping. That would pretty much then leave us at the mercy of bad State laws. Alternatively, something like the PACT Act would also be nearly as bad.

Taxes - Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking (PACT) Act

I'm a pessimist I guess but I'm almost sure that legislators will find a way to do what they want to get the tax money as long as the majority aren't affected.

Well from what I read of the bill it doesn't stop internet sales but it is on the vendor to charge the tax and pay to WA. It is a new law the other 2 didn't make it they had a 95% tax with them but the law is over 50 pages long and it doesn't stop short of search and seizure of untaxed products. You would have to read the whole thing

  • It sounds more like drug control then vaping control. Indian Reservations are exempt. I hope that there is so much written into this that it will get voted down. Like I say it is over 50 pages will be the most restrictive law in the US. They can even get you for gifts so friends I have that are willing to help me out are going to have to be carefull too. It is a Democratic law in a state where both houses are controlled by democrats and the governor is a democrat. Jay(I've never seen a tax I don't love)Inslee. 60% accross the board on anything vape related whether or not it has nicotine, all mods, atties.

Like I say I have friends that are willing to help and I have enough nic to last till abou 2025 probably longer than me. I will have 4 nickel SXm's and 3 Provari's and an SX s. The flavoring I get is food grade and PG?VG can be used to make soap. I am sure Provape will have to move also.
Doesn't nicotine have a shelf life? I thought I heard that it did and it was pretty short. (don't mean to be bearing bad news but I once thought of storing up some nicotine and remember that I gave up on it because of something like that).
