Help please. I just got my SXMini M class today, and also a Herakles with their Ni200 coils. when I go to lock in the resistance it correctly reads at .025. However when I go to fire it up, I receive the low resistance warning. Is there a step or something I am missing

I would try another coil in it, I went and read what those coils are supposed to be they are supposed to be .20 not .025 ... perhaps the coil head you are using is faulty cause that's way low I don't know what would fire that resistance.

.20 is way way different than .025, no wonder its reading low resistance warning

Back on the Main Topic du jour at this time,,,
Is there anyone running the Ti Test Firmware that is NOT experiencing any Issues or quirkiness?
Anyone at all that is running it and it is functioning properly and at the Norms & Settings that one should expect based upon what the Ti Guys (Experts I Would call them and cede to them as they have proven themselves to be worthy of such) here have postulated?

Just wondering and would like to see more Feedback regarding the experiences of others running the Test.

AND,,, it sure would be awesome if the related experiences could be without the Free-Trade Practices-Laws & Regulations debates, and the "this mod/Firmware/YiHi/Ti/etc. Sucks" Opinions & Tirades
Not that those aren't nifty and informative or to be construed as limiting anyone's Freedom of Speech or that I have the blatantly incorrect BS notion that I know better than anyone & everyone else....
Just saying.

I do have another question. I see a lot of people use Unkamen in the pic on their website it looks really porous but it is such and enlarged photo just wondering I have seen some that is shinier is one easier to keep clean then the others. How long do your coils last with the Unkamen. I want to get some to hold me over till Stealth Vapes has their stuff ready to go but would like to try it sooner then 3 weeks which is about what I'm looking at with them. What's a good one to hold me over that is fast as far as getting it shipped out.

It's acid etched for cleaning.
STOP DITHEREING :)
NOW

I just became the self appointed vaping god for titanium coils FYI
I use Unkamen Ti wire.
Use it and be happy until you get whatever your little heart desires. :D

Duane:
Do you use the wire from Unkamen Supplies that is jewelery specific?
Yes. It works perfectly. It's not fully annealed and I would classify it as "half hard" but it isn't difficult to handle at all and I have never had to replace a coil for cause. It cleans up fine with a little water and a tooth brush with the juice I'm using. Any time I've replaced a coil it's been because I wanted to try a different coil design or wire thickness.

I guess "half hard" would be better than fully limp.
Are you using 26 gauge G1?

Huh,,,, "half-hard" eh? That is definitely better than fully limp
All jokes aside I suppose that's why I have never had any complaints with the "springy" nature of Ti. Sure the Ti from Unkammen I have been using exclusively is more spring-like than A-1 Kanthal but it was not even close to what I hade been led to believe about non-annealed Ti.
That explains the difference.

You get used to the ultra springy stuff too

Mine is from zivipf and just cleaning a half loop of wire left holes in my hand the first time as it recoiled while using alcohol wipes

I just allow it to do what it will [unwind a bit oversize] tighten one leg, then with the mandrel still inserted just pull the other leg tight with pliers before tightening down

originally I was annealing it with a blow lamp, but now just wrap and go

only thing I do still is run at just 5 joules for a few seconds and check legs are tight under screws

then back to my usual setting of 17j and vape that coil for the next week

For those unable to find Ti or on the fence about it, its relatively new. Just chill a bit, a month or so and it will be easier to find and reputable vendors will have it in stock, more people will have a chance to play with it on specific devices and you'll have a better experience for it.

I really dont understand the rush to try TI, periodically look, if you find some at a reasonable price (by the way, I found some on Amazon but I did not pull the trigger), great, otherwise, just wait a bit.

And for those about to jump all over me for it being 'relatively new', Im well aware that it has been available in small quantities and was even available back in the no resistance-resistance-no resistance setups required on some genesis atties, however, it hasnt been in high demand like it is now.

I can just see the literal net nerds with the nerdy voice and all saying 'well actually...'.

Well actually... The mod makers came after we started using Ti for TC and not the other way around. We old guys have Ti spools longer than any yihi update, evic VT launch or Dna 200 presentation [emoji14]

:) [emoji14] :D

PS: I still remember Fir3b1rd giving me a hard time about Ti usage since it wasn't officially supported by Yihi.

PS2: Yes Fir3b1rd, I remember, I'll never forget and you just wait for it...

:D :D

Just saying.

Put me down for one having no issues.

Ordered Ti from Unkamen. Got it In 2 days.

Upgraded SXMini to 2.23

Wrapped a contact coil of 24ga on 3mm Kuro coiler.

Pulsed/pinched at 7 watts to ensure glow from center and no hot legs.

Set firmware to Ti setting.

Stuffed cotton in coil. Juiced.

Profit.

Some of you are making it a lot more difficult than it needs to be.

Easy to Find?: Etsy. Don't get any "Easier".
Reputable Vendor?: Unkammen. Don't get anymore Proven or "Reputable".
In Stock?: ZERO Issues (so far)
Reasonable Price?: .28-43 Cents/ft Shipped (depending on Gauge).

FYI,,,, FAR from a "Net Nerd" and after reading your Post didn't say anything even close to "Actually" but did say words synonymous with Equine Defecation :thumb:

Hope your joking about glowing your Ti coil Todai

Pulsing till the wire turns bright gold or bright blue/purple is good enough to oxidise for contact

But glowing will form a thick layer of Ti02 that breaks away quite easily and could end up in the vapour stream

Thanks so much for that and agree. Sorry I wasn't clear I suppose...
I meant any Issues with the actual Firmware. Is it performing as was expected, as it should, and reliably with no glitches or jitters?
If so, what are your J & Temp Settings?
Have only read of Issues as in it is Jumpy/Jittery in what it's doing in Modulation or that you have to set at higher than expected/predicted Temps & Joules to function and perform properly. As such, was just wondering and wanting to hear from anyone where the above is not occurring and it is humming along as it should with Proper Norms & Settings.
