Found this, so basically - they bought commercially available annealed Ti Grade 2:

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF CP TITANIUM GRADE 2 – ASTM F 67-100

  • Carbon 0.8 max
  • Nitrogen 0.030 max
  • Oxygen 0.25 max
  • Iron 0.30 max
  • Hydrogen 0.015 max
  • Titanium balance
HEAT TREATMENT OF CP TITANIUM GRADE 2
  • Anneal
    • Hold at 1103° to 1400F (595° to 760°C) for two hours
    • Air cool
    • Stress relive by holding at 1004° to 1103°F (540° to 595°C) for 15 to 30 minutes
    • Air cool
  • Intermediate and final annealing in inert gas or vacuum
  • Perform final heat treatments in vacuum
Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 2 - All Metals & Forge Group

The best part is it took you less than a year (per their website) of research to find that.

Nice... Nothing gets past us.

Ill be very curious to see how stainless steel stacks up to titanium, cheaper to produce, should have no requirements for pre-heating, much more flexible, a bit more of a known quantity when it comes to safety, etc.

Stainless Steel has been around and is used commonly as a wick (mesh). It can be used for heating a coil if desired.

Per posting on reddit..

I had a metallurgist in a top defence contactor break down some 20awg gplat haywire. I just received this email. : electronic_cigarette

Maybe they have really slow Internet. ;)

I'm calling bull on this. Just looking at the Material Data Sheet, one can see that annealing doesn't change the level of impurities in Titanium and Grade 1 has substantially less oxygen in it.

Armed with all this knowledge, you should go and beat up the Ti experts in the other sub group... and tell the where they can go.. Unkamen

Sorry.. I really doubt that this company has the resources and technological savvy to back up these claims. Do a search on the company and they only sell wire and juices. I even googled the owner... I don't see the credentials. It sounds good but I don't feel like being a guinea pig, however, @2legsshrt is in the market for Ti wire. Ask him to test it. I rather purchase from solid vendors that others have vetted. Perhaps I'm too cynical or overly cautious but thanks for the info anyways.
I am seriously considering The vape Mesh company. At that price I can get 170' - 20% if they take off the VAT for $15 Thats pretty darned cheap.

You know you can't buy 170' of a single gauge. You'll need higher gauge if your going to run dual coils. Are you looking at annealed or tempered? Pre-cleaned? G1 or G2?
Just so you know, Unkamen has free shipping in July for orders over $20 and they are in the U.S.

Well lately I have been getting certain things of much better quality at cheaper prices even with the ridiculous shipping charges from the UK and Europe. As long as I can get them to put my address on so the idiots at the USPS can read it or should I say their machines. Had one package that took a month because the zip code was on the left instead of the right so they sent it to Connecticut since my street name is Ct. and even though the name of the court was not the name of any town in Connecticut they spent a month trying to find it. The USPS leaves alot to be desired if your address is on not the way the machine likes it it has a brain fart and no one has enough sense to read it with their eyeballs. That's a thing of the past. The mailman looked at it and said the address is right except for the zip on the left but it went back and forth accross the US 3 times. Got within 10 miles of my house once a week and a half into it's journey but the went to NJ.

Looking at their web site I see that they are out of 26ga Ti but it would have been $9.95 for 35'. They do currently have 24ga at 30' and 28ga at 40' for the same $9.95. Maybe all the Ti vapers have already hit them up for the 26ga wire which appears to be the sweet spot for coil our Ti attys.

Pure Titanium Wire - 100% Guarantee - Specific for Jewelry Surgical Gr – Unkamen Supplies

My SpiderSilk 26ga is due to arrive Thursday so I will let everyone know well it works. They claim that it is "more malleable than other wires" but who knows. I know it is more expensive but it was a fast eBay delivery to get me going with Ti for next weekend to see if I like it or not. The Unkerman wire looks good and less than half the price if only they had more 26ga in stock. They state that it is 1/4 hard in temper so I guess it is partially tempered perhaps? Or partially annealed?

I hope you know that sometimes, the UK/ European countries get their products from the U.S. It's ironic to buy something that goes from the U.S. to UK/Europe, back to the U.S. to your house via CT. I was watching a video of the E Phoenix Hurricane (Switzerland) and the reviewer was coiling with wire from Lightning Vapes in Florida, U.S. Just saying...

Sorry...I'm new to Ti and I forgot the recommended resistance range on the sx mini (and lazy to scroll back the pages [emoji14]).

Can anyone recommend a decent gauge (and optimal resistance if possible) using Ti to build dual 2mm - 2.5mm diameter coils? I have a UD Zeph (and Billow v2 on the way) and building it with nickel is somewhat PITA :(

For Dual, I use 28 GA, 6 Wraps spaced slightly on a 3/32" (2.38mm) Bit, end up right at 0.21 Ohms.
For Single, will use 26 GA, 5 Wraps slightly spaced on a 2.5mm Bit, should end up @ 0.2 Ohms.

According to Manufacturer Spec, 0.3 is Max & 0.15 is the Min for the SX Mini M in Temp Control .
But others here are having success both below and above those Specs in TC Mode.
In non-TC, the YiHi Spec is max of 3.0 Ohms.

Oopsie....
Jes, Jes I was looking at the wrong Spec. That was for Wattage Mode.
I Sit & Type corrected. My Bad and thanks for setting me and the Facts straight.
I will administer a self-lashing with a Ti-made Cat-O-9tails to atone for my Sin.

Looked again and it shows 0.05 as the Min in TC Mode. But given my previous Error, please don't take that as "the gospel".

No worries friend, didnt want to think you were restricting your builds unnecessarily!!

For the Ti cat-o-9tails, recommend quad twisted 30g....lol!!
