Not much is known about the new v2 chip in this. But I love my sx mini and will wait to see all this has before purchasing anything else.
Understandable. I loved my sx mini m as well, but like the vaporshark dna 200 more, so I sold my sx and bought a VS. What really sold me is that even though its a 900mah, its a 3 cell, so it should give about the same amount of battery life as my regular vtc5, that was in my sx. Granted it all depends on how much wattage and what not is used, but the VS dna 200 will allow me to go up to 200 watts in power and temp mode, something the sx mini simply could not do. Now battery life will drain horribly using high wattages on a 900mah device, but it still is an option. What also really sold me is the zip charging. I will be able to charge the mod from dead to full in 90 min, due to the 2amp charging capability. Having a device that is roughly the same size as the sx mini, being able to use higher wattages, and charging in 1/3 of the time I charge my vtc5 (.5amp) really sold me. I am always around a plug of some sort that I can plug in via usb, I have never carried around a 18650 charger. Of course its all personal preference, but that is why I chose to sell my sx mini m, and get the VS. Again, I loved my sx mini m, and hated to get rid of it, but for my personal preference I think I made a good choice.

Forgot to mention that evolve has been decently good with giving constant updates to their chips, which will unlock new modes, more stability, and more capabilites. Out of all the P4U products I have owned, as well as the sx mini, it seems like once they push out 1 update they are already on to a new product and forget about the old one. I don't think the sx mini m will ever see anything more than the beta update we had about a month ago.

Note this is just my opinion, and what I thought was best for me.

I hope you make a full recovery soon, back injuries suck.

I too have been enjoying the Goliath 2 on my M class, but with a dual Ti build instead, haven't tried the single coil option yet. Maybe I will next time I rebuild. It really is a rather well done tank IMO, so far I like it leaps and bounds better than the first one, which I owed, but rarely used.

Thanks... I'm getting around better day by day.. :)

I prefer a simple, single-coil Ni200 build, and as I posted, the Goliath 2 has been the best I've used so far with the M Class for that purpose. The block also serves to make a reduced chamber, which provides a flavorful vape.:smokie: I'm also looking forward to giving the Cthulhu v2 a spin when it's available. It looks to have a sweet single-coil option as well. :)

I've been using this build in the Goliath 2 for over 15 tanks now, and am surprised that I have not had the need to change-out the cotton yet.. (0.15 / 25.0J / 440F / Eco mode):

NICE! I haven't tried a nickel build in my Goliath V2, but that looks tempting.

Looks nice. 15 tanks omg I barely can get through 3 before needing to clean & rewick. But I'm usually on some type of custard or cream that seems to gunk pretty heavily. I am in the market for a good dual coil tank, I'll have to look into that one.

That's what's surprising to me.. I have only run my DIY MFS 4 Star General (RY4 type), and DIY vanilla custard with this build on the M Class (more of the 4 Star General than VC). OTOH, the same juices in my Sunbox E7 DNA 40 / Chalice 3 turns the cotton almost black within a couple of 10ml bottles when set to the same temperature. Must be something to do with it being bottom-fed, the small 14mm Chalice 3, air-flow, or something along those lines.. :?:

Yep, as @Technonut pointed out, just install the extension tube, and you're good to go. I've been using mine all weekend. 120W on the SXM is a good bit more powerful than 120W on the sigelei 150W, just a warning, you may want to start low, and work your way up.

Its perfectly understandable for them not to include any support for end of life Operating Systems in my opinion. The fact that it even works on XP could be considered a blessing, although I guess some people may still want XP support, why stop there? Why not ask for 98SE support, OS/2 Warp support, MSDOS 3.1 support while we're at it?

Glad you are getting better.

XP - yes, a smart move. Still a gazillion XP Enterprise users that will not upgrade to to ridiculous pricing. Staples is still on that level, as would be any executive/supervisory personnel linked in. Corporations told MS no thanks in droves.

Needless to say this really pisses me off. What are we supposed to do throw our M's away and buy their new one. No way my budget is not there for that. If they don't come out with an update for the Ti firmware then I guess thats the way it goes.

You make it sound like your M is useless trash and you have no choice but to upgrade.

It didn't support Ti when you bought it, so live with it. If they eventually release a final f/w version that supports Ti, consider yourself lucky.

Look at how this industry has evolved in the past 2 years. You're silly if you think that buying the SXM was going to be the One Mod to rule them all for eternity. Newer mods will come out with more features, it shouldn't piss you off.

Except for the FACT that YiHi still advertises on their site "upgradeable software", so if they have no intention of providing these software upgrades that should be removed and not listed as a feature.

Yes, technology changes rapidly. But even with a cellphone updates are generally supported for 2 years after discontinuation. Most who purchased this unit did so based on these promised future upgrades. But..... as with the S class that was only out for 2 months before discontinuation and no more support and now under 6 months for the M class, I certainly will not count on factoring in that (twice proven wrong) promise of upgradability. Especially when they have already rumored an even newer unit/chip arriving in December.

Basically what yihi has shown us is their units will have a 2-6 month life span before they release something better and totally give up on the current model. Up to you if thats worth your $200.

I feel that leaving the Titanium TCR curve as it is on the M class is BAD NEWS. If YiHi really intends not to support the M class with further improvements in firmware then I'm not a happy camper.

Evolv has issued a ton of firmware improvements for the DNA 200 in just the last couple months. Yes, they may get to the point where that slows down or stops but they have received suggestions from customers in their forum and implemented some of the suggestions within a week or two.

I was not a happy camper with the DNA 40 but my experience with the Evolv and the DNA 200 couldn't be better. I don't really know what YiHi will do but I do know that the TCR support for titanium from YiHi is/has been terrible (in my opinion) and if this is a harbinger of the future then I am not going to be purchasing any more YiHi devices until I hear that their policy has changed and they have proven that it has changed.

I'm not big fan of this type of marketing either. Let me give an example. It's not really in the same ball park. But it's close enough. I'm a huge Billow fan. I have several of the V1's and V2's. They came out with a nano kit for the V1's. It came with a smaller glass tank and chimney. Pretty simple an inexpensive. The V2's are out and they release a nano version. Not a kit to upgrade the V2. But a whole new tank. Needless to say the price goes up because they are making you purchase all the things in between as well as the shorter glass and chimney. Same can be said with the SX Mini. I will have to pass on this one. There is not enough change to the device that would tempt me enough to even consider purchasing it. Now if it supported dual 18650's in series....... I would consider it

I like my/the SX Mini M a lot. Period. That won't change whether they stop supporting it or not. Nor will it change if they ever get the Ti FW "worked out" or not. I honestly could care less. I vape Ti on the Ni Profile with Temp at 290* F and she does great anyways. So again, I don't give a Rat's .... what YiHi does or doesn't do now or in the future. Life goes on and me & my SXMM will Vape On too.

That being said and true,,,, I do COMPLETELY agree and concur with the overall "No Mas YiHi" Sentiment. Their choice to basically disregard their own marketed "Pledge" and give all who bought their Products and accompanying line of Bull the Finger speaks for itself. C'est La Vie and Crap Happens.
However, they have gotten their last US Dollar/Cent from me and I'm sure many others as well.
Up mine eh? Well,,, fine-Up Yours too YiHi :2cool:

and in the End,,, They won't give a Rat's .... about that either. Guess we're even

The "upgradable software" feature was ONE of the selling points that drew me to the SXMM to begin with. That along with it having a great temp control chip sold me on it. But now it is no different(as far as shelf life) as anything else it sounds like. I hope most of us are wrong about that & they do continue to update the SXMM. Otherwise, I will think twice about getting the SXMMV2.3.4.,,whatever. Basically there wasn't an update for the SXMM in my opinion because it already had Ni mode & then the Ti mode is not accurate & in test version. Oh well, at the end of day I love my SXMM which is a good thing since I will be stuck with it awhile!!

I think this interim release will be a bust. If you think about it we have had only 1 upgrade. The first 2 were fixes for the the initial 1.4 release. Call it an upgrade if you like I call it a correction.
Version 2.3 was an upgrade.
They are beta testing the new release at the expense of all those must have people.
I for one will wait for the second release in December before even considering to buy.
I hope they do something with the shell and change from Zinc alloy that they used for the body of the current M.
I wonder how the folks at Vapor Flask feel now that they are releasing a brand new obsolete mod.
This industry has made huge leaps. Unfortunately not in the business values department.
Cheers.

FWIW, a couple people in the ML thread contacted Yihi customer support, and it appears that Yihi is recommending NOT purchasing the ML if you already have an M. They said the V2 chip is a relatively small improvement over the V1, and not worth the price if you're looking for an upgrade. Real upgrade is coming around Christmas.

I, for one, am still perfectly happy with my SXMM/firmware v2.2, puffing away on kanthal in a 1-ohm Squape. Tried temp control, but for the way I vape it doesn't interest me in the slightest, so it may be a while before anyone/anything pries away my current rig.

No I didn't mean that at all. I love my SX's just wished they could have done this with a firmware upgrade at least for the Ti. I love the looks of the new one too but so far I am a lot happier with the Ti but the nickel works great too, just have to recoil a little sooner. They are by no means trash to me but don't know if I will be able to afford to get a new one but I like the blue plus it almost looks like they put a different finish on them that doesn't have to be covered up cause they look so good when they are new.

I agree with you completely. I use 270F but thats what I like. I'm happy with the mod even if the Ti FW is a bust. Of course I do like to go to it once in a while and use 480F to get the same vape.
