It's a newer version for sure, as the modes are now in a different order and the extra & is gone. Everything else seems to be the same as 2.21 to me. Is it "final"? I doubt that.
Great! Thanks. I'm going to do that 2.2 install then.

Is this the "final fix". I have an interim v 2.21 installed and heard that there was an official version coming soon but conventional naming doesn't suggest that 2.2 is newer than 2.21,

I'm not sure if I put in 2.2 whether I'm going forward or backwards, but then I'm never sure about that with me in real life either.

Duane

Hahahaha. Well with Powerful+ coming before Powerful, M class being better then S class... only appropriate that they continue their backwards ways with 2.2 being newer than 2.21 ;)

I see they still didn't fix the order of the Powerful and Powerfu+

So now it's Standard, Soft, Eco, Powerfu+, and Powerful.
Actually it is in the correct order but only backwards IMHO. Maybe a design decision but I like it to be a progressive order and not a regressive order. But other than that, I really have been enjoying the new version. Even the Powerful and Powerful+ appear to be working properly in TC. Some real testing with a scope should be done to verify that, but my perception is that it is working at least somewhat.

oh... gutted I have been using && in my posts
without that on the SX mini M everyone will think I lost the plot
Quantum, any new folks getting an SXM with the v2.2 firmware won't even know what we were talking about from this point forward in regards to our && thing. lol

I just love having the ability to fix so many things with a firmware update! Especially when they do it right. And when they don't... There is always another firmware update too! :rickroll:

Yeah for sure, great work by Yihi && in double quick time too [could not resist one last time]

This will be a standard that is expected now so other manufacturers need to pull their finger out

And we all know just where that finger has been resting...

How did you install it? The installer program doesn't like an *.MAN file says it is not compatible???

Please ignore the above - druckle got me back on the straight and now. All is good.

The modes are fixed. When hitting down button the order is: Powerful+, Powerful, Standard, Soft, and Eco which makes sense-- especially when you use up button :)

The bug where it dumps you into memory location M1 when coming out of the menu is still there, though

You nailed it Rebel, the presets are just doing a round robin, so depending on if your using up button or down button to select dictates which direction you go through the presets.

Ironically, the most annoying bug for me has been the menu exit/preset one which hasn't been touched.

That one hasn't bugged me at all really. But I'm only using 1 tank, same coil every time and 1 Mx location so I'm not really adjusting much. The biggest bug as I seen it was all the presets in joule mode being lower output than standard and it appears they fixed that.

I'm not running in Joule mode at this time, but have they did anything the powerful/powerful+ modes in joule mode? I know in the past they didn't seem to actually give a boost like they should.

I haven't downloaded the public release of 2.2 yet. But in the test version yes they have modified the output of the presets when in joules mode to be more powerful than standard. :)

Vlad,

It is of course pretty darn subjective but I just tested Powerful and Powerful+ and it is my opinion that they do what you would expect.

As a matter of fact I started with Powerful+ and it startled me - kind of knocked my socks off.
