Still nothing from the YouTube heavy-hitters. Come on guys, if you want to review a mini you've gotta buy one just like the rest of us. Remember back when you had to buy your own vape gear? :p

My guess is that it probably won't happen. These guys have built huge reputations and have large followings, so they get more gear given to them for free than they have time to review. With this being YiHi's first actual device, with a new distribution channel, I doubt they know who to send the free ones to if they've even thought about sending them out for marketing at all. And since they seem to be selling well, they may not need to bother when they do learn about it.

to heck with "the heavy hitters". we managed to find this without their help and with this forum and others the word of mouth of good vapors will spread the news about the sx mini well enough. quite frankly, the sx mini is not for everybody. the usual reviewers tend to cater to the mass of mainstream vapors with their freebee products from the major manufacturers. they serve their purpose and i think they mainly do a fair job at spreading the word about the benefits of vaping and the many products on the market. i think a product like the sx mini isn't for the "masses"-i think it is like a lexus or mercedes. the publicity is out there but it takes a certain person willing and able to buy it. if that sounds snobbish or elitist, maybe it is to some extent, but i think part of the appeal is the fact that everybody doesn't have one. and until i have as many as i want and can afford that's my story and i am sticking to it. after that i don't care who reviews it or how hard it is to keep in stock. selfish but true....

Completely agree with you!! I was debating on a DNA 40 device and all it took was one member mentioning the SX Mini, which started me on my path to researching it some more. It seems like an amazing mod that has a lot going for it and after reading some of the favorable reviews from members on this forum I decided to hell with wait times on DNA 40 devices, so I found an SX Mini in stock yesterday on Varitube and its already shipped and headed my way :) Cant wait to try it out and spread the good word on this device :D

Mine landed today and I'm building the Rose to sit on top of it.

Owning a DNA 40 and the SX mini is a plus and while I like the DNA 40 it can be a PITA. This is my personal feelings on the DNA Chip. It is innovative but has very little flexibility and the stars have to be aligned just right when you build a coil or you get variable ohm readings. It's just not as simple as building Kanthal and there are to many variables that come into play when you are building. If your dripper or RTA isn't perfectly aligned the chip doesn't work properly, some toppers it just doesn't like at all. Folks that picked up the K4 are reporting challenges and they believe it's the spring. The chip hates my eXpromizer which also has a spring similar to the new K4.

I don't sub-ohm and rarely burn cotton. I received my SX and can throw any topper on it I want on top of it and vape without the stars aligning. I have several SX chips and now I know they are my preferred chip.

I use the DNA40 and it really let's me dial in the flavor on my 100% VG liquids but I would have to say overall I believe the first release was a bust.

I got the chance to mess with a rDNA40 last night, and let me tell you...I'm SUPER stoked I went with the SX!!!

Dont get it twisted though, the rDNA is still a nice device, its a bit smaller, feels pretty good in the hand and using it with a lemo drop.....BuuUUuuuttttt....it just doesn't have that "cadillac" feet to it. You know what I mean?

Yes, I do know EXACTLY what you mean. Not to offend any VS rDNA lovers, but I was very "unmoved" by my VS and I kept looking at it asking "where is my money?" But I did like the DNA chip a lot with Kanthal builds, so the chip was a thumbs up for me, but the box? :glare:

The wait is about over as my SXMini arrived at my local post office around 4am this morning and should be delivered to my house around lunch time today. I will give the USPS a "thumbs up" this time.
I am so looking forward to getting this mod, especially after all the comments about how great it is, that have been made on this thread. I put the excitement level of getting this mod at the same level as when I have products coming from MMVapors (Poldiac, Nanos, OverOne).

Thanks Nikki,
I have not been on the forum much lately due to having to help take of my 92 year old mother. Things should ease up a bit as we are getting ready to hire someone to help her for 5 or 6 hours per day. You know, carry her to doctor's appointments/beauty shop appointments and help her around the house. She loves to get out and go places.
It is good to be back on the forum and you will be seeing more of me on here in the future. I know this will just result in me spending more money on all the new toys you and others find and share with us.

Awesome hun! I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts (if they are not posted already, as there are two more pages to read :p) .. Glad you decided to pick up some help for your Mom because you have to take care of yourself too. But you are a good Son

Hi guys! I'm a big time lurker here, and I just received my SX Mini from Varitube, which I was convinced to order by reading this very thread! This is my first high-end (I define "high-end" as over $100) mod, and the first I've had with a spring loaded center pin. After I hastily screwed my Magma clone onto it to test it out, I noticed little metal shavings in the recessed area of the 510 connection upon removal. Is this normal? Could I have ruined my brand new SX Mini?
