SXmini mod ... Yihi

The wait is about over as my SXMini arrived at my local post office around 4am this morning and should be delivered to my house around lunch time today. I will give the USPS a "thumbs up" this time.
I am so looking forward to getting this mod, especially after all the comments about how great it is, that have been made on this thread. I put the excitement level of getting this mod at the same level as when I have products coming from MMVapors (Poldiac, Nanos, OverOne).

Thanks Nikki,
I have not been on the forum much lately due to having to help take of my 92 year old mother. Things should ease up a bit as we are getting ready to hire someone to help her for 5 or 6 hours per day. You know, carry her to doctor's appointments/beauty shop appointments and help her around the house. She loves to get out and go places.
It is good to be back on the forum and you will be seeing more of me on here in the future. I know this will just result in me spending more money on all the new toys you and others find and share with us.

Good to hear you got it today Portertown. USPS has been pretty good lately around here. Mine arrived on time as well and so far so good. Good luck with everything

IT...HAS...ARRIVED !!!

All I've done in the 15 mins I've had it is to run my Nautilus @ 11W running a 24 Hot Cinnamon juice.

Love it !!!

Brother I know what you mean. Mine arrived today and the mail even came 3 hours early. So far I am loving it. I am going back and forth between it and my rDNA. Both great devices, but right off the bat the build quality of the mini is much better than the rDNA. I am thinking the only thing I will like better about the rDNA is the magnetic battery cover and the TC, but overall I think the Mini wins the competition.

By the way are you still active? I am a HMC down at Camp Lejeune

I feel like that's the only reason I prefer the rDNA over the mini, because of the magnetic door haha, I don't plan to use nickel, so the TC is useless to me. Also, glad to see some military folks on here, I'm at Bragg.

Hi guys! I'm a big time lurker here, and I just received my SX Mini from Varitube, which I was convinced to order by reading this very thread! This is my first high-end (I define "high-end" as over $100) mod, and the first I've had with a spring loaded center pin. After I hastily screwed my Magma clone onto it to test it out, I noticed little metal shavings in the recessed area of the 510 connection upon removal. Is this normal? Could I have ruined my brand new SX Mini?

It's an issue if you cross threaded it.

With any mod that has a spring-loaded 510, it's good practice to apply a little inward pressure (towards the 510 pin of the mod) as the 510 on your atty begins to make contact to minimize thread fatigue. As long as your atties are snugging down nicely (don't ratchet them down tightly, just snug them up) you should be fine. Just mop those little shavings out with a Q-Tip and vape on!

I have a Magma clone (Infinite) that I can't get to fit perfectly flush on the mini because of the really long 510 on it (even the original has this, and some people have even cut their Magma's 510 down). So make sure you don't try to force it on! Mine sits up off the top cap a couple of mm.

rounding third and heading home...
it's sooo hard to not pull the trigger on one of these! *must resist* :) thanks for all the great info everyone!

don't resist- you will be absorbed- remember if you fall asleep someone who looks exactly like you will be holding an sx mini and will replace you....so just beat' em to it and add it to your cart....
truth is , i don't need any affirmation from some video clown to tell me i made the right choice by getting an sx mini(i don't mean someone like retrox, i am talking about the usual suspects). i do my homework, gather up the facts, listen to people i respect here and elsewhere, and finally make an adult decision to purchase or not. if everyone came out and said the sx mini was garbage i would continue to vape it(i am looking to see if i can have it surgically connected to my hand) 'cause i know it is a very fine device.now you fence-sitters save yourselves some anguish and go ahead and get it- i hear all the finest people are/will be vaping it......

don't have a magma-could anyone advise if they are worth it. i have my eye on a marquis(don't believe i have seen a clone yet) so could some one advise if that is a worthy purchase? must do my research but i am very happy to vape my subtank until all the facts are in- this subtank just keeps getting better and better. so about that marquis?...........

No, that is not normal  Did you inspect the 510 prior to installing the Magma? Meaning were the shaving in the 510 connection before you installed the atty?

From what I hear the Lancia is a better choice than the Magma. I have the Lancia, not the Magma though .. but a buddy of mine had the Magma and said he doesn't touch it anymore after getting the Lancia. The Marquis clone is out now too .. thinking about that one, but I wish it was a little sexier

The Marquis clone is out, theres a guy on ebay that has em in stock but $38, FT has em for $14, Focal has it about the same price. Gonna wait for a stateside shop to carry it in the $20 range.
The Lancia has great flavor but drip capacity is dismal so I never use it, the flavor really is superb on it though and it looks great.
I havent used my Magma in over 6 months, it just sits.
The Marquis is definitely #1 on my list as a dripper for my SX Mini however.

My SXMini arrived today and it is exactly like all of you on this thread have said. It is the best purchase I have made since I started vaping.
The things I like about it are as follows:
---The over all appearance
---The performance
---The button
---The screen
---The finish
---The feel in my hand
---The size
---The quality of the vape
I could go on and on about what I like about it, but you that already have one already know all it's good points.

I have my OverOne rda by MMVapors on it tonight. I have been using this rda on a mechanical mod until now and it has never performed like it is on the SXMini. I guess it is being able to dial in the wattage exactly were it needs to be and I am also using the "Powerful" mode. I have the OverOne built with dual 26ga dual coils that are .3 ohms and I am only having to run it at 38 watts to get a great taste and plenty of vapor. I have the airflow set about half way between closed and fully open.

I checked the voltage output with my inline voltage tester and there is only .02 volts difference between the SXMini screen and the inline tester. This tells me the output is spot on.

The only negative thing I can find is that some of my atomizers will not screw completely all the way down. The atomizer with the longest 510 leaves about one half of a MM gap. It would be nice if Yihi provided just a little bit more travel in the positive pin. At least the top cap will not get damaged from the base of atomizers rubbing on it.

I have a SX350 board (60 watt) that I am installing in a Hammond 1590B box with dual parallel 18650 batteries. I have been lazy on getting this box mod finished, but I think the SXMini will motivate me to get it finished.

I have a rdna30 VaporShark and I will have to say for me the SXMini is a much better product.

Glad you love it as much as we do!

I just ordered my Youde Goblin RTA (which I didnt even know was released already, just heard about it last night) which will be going STRAIGHT on my Mini.
Finally a RTA that has more airflow than the Atlantis full bore...gonna be a nasty little thing.

Thanks
I am really thinking about getting the Goblin also. Last night was the first time I heard about it. I have seven or eight Kayfun lites and have just about quit using them since I have moved to drippers. They just do not have enough air flow for me now.
This Goblin seems to correct the lack of airflow and would be so much better to use outside of the house than a dripper. The size of the Goblin would look quite nice on the SXMini for sure.

Gotta say I'm loving this SX Mini. Phenomenal build quality, great performance, I like knowing exactly what voltage I have left in my battery without having to take it out and test it, it feels great in my hand and IMO it looks nice and sleek. Haven't barely used my iStick since I got it and haven't even touched my Cloupor DNA 30. The money spent was well worth it. I also love the 5 memory settings, it's not necessary but soooo convenient. Glad I found this thread and read up on this device. I was about to pull the trigger on a VS rDNA 40 (which I'm sure is also a great device) but for the same price I got 20W more (which I may never even use but, hey, it's nice to have) and more features. Didn't really care about the TC considered I just started rebuilding and I need to work with kanthal a lot more before even thinking about trying nickel.

Ive been experimenting with all my juices on the soft and powerful settings in various RDAs and RTAs...crazy how it can change flavor notes so much. Instead of getting just caramel butterscotch vanilla custard I get smooth vanilla custard at first turning into a trail of caramel, its like separating the flavor profiles in the inhale, it's great.

rounding third and heading home...
thanks to all those suggestions about the different rbas to try. i must say that this thread just seems a bit more civil than some other device threads i have followed. i am definitely going to try some of the mentioned toppers just as soon as i get the nerve to take my subtanks off. they keep staring at me with a look that says "why bother?".
to all those who are just getting /ordering your first sx mini-i told you that you would be absorbed. resistance is futile why anybody would resist such a fantastic vape is beyond me anyway hope everyone is having a safe and happy new year. to welcome 2015 with an sx mini is a great start for the year......
