does the sx mini fire right out of sleep mode?

It sure does... :) Everything works well on this mod.. Including the gravity sensor, and auto display rotation.. The charging indicator is a small "lightning bolt" on the display when plugged into the micro USB.. Speaking of, I must say that the micro USB port is one of the most secure I've seen out of many mods I've owned with one.. I'm not worried at all about it pushing in, or becoming loose.

Just out of curiosity, why do you need more than 7.5v on a 60w device? you can build 0.9 ohm and use less than 7.5v, other than saving battery life I don't see the difference between 0.3 and 1.0 ohm build on a variable voltage mod...

Coils with higher oHms provide more coil real estate to vaporize more juice. You might not notice a difference in the type of vape that produces compared to less coil real estate but many people do.

One of the nice things about the YiHi SX350 chips is that the generous specs allow a very large playground in which to experiment with regulated vapes to find what works best.

Can someone explain the technical differences between the modes (powerful, standard and soft) ? The voltage is the same, and of course the resistance is, so the wattage and current must be, so how come there is so much difference in vapor production?

I asked the same, No one knows as the manual does not have this info?

Anyone know?

perhaps I do not understand! that is just a .sxi file used for the upgrade. you need to run the sxi installer software to install that file? when I just connect the sx mini to the computer with no battery the computer does nothing. usually if I plug in a new usb device it will say new usb hardware found. it wil then show up in the device manager. nothing here! then the sxi software says cannot find device! oh, please help if you can I am really bummed about this. the ipv2s I just forgot about but the mini is so great. I could use like a 1.2 ohm build and take 9+v. I emailed yihi but he did not get back to me yet. it must be afternoon in china.

thanks.

edit: yes, #3 is the installer. cannot install driver or find device! firewall was off during this. maybe it is not the 64 bit program or needs elevation? I ran as administrator. I know my way around a pc but I am no expert.

I wish I could be of more help.. I'm using Windows 7, and just installed the SXi, then rebooted the computer. I'm sure that a device was recognized when the SXmini was plugged-in BEFORE the SXi was installed however.. Perhaps a USB cable issue? You could try going into the SXmini's menu, set the Link to On, leave the device on, and then plug it in... Be sure to click the "Connection" option when first opening SXi after installation, and choose "Install Driver". I rebooted afterward.

I plugged mine in with no battery, opened the SXi program, clicked "Upgrade", "Open File", then "Upgrade".. Went smoothly with no issues..

EDIT: Have you tried it on a different computer? I would give it a shot if you have access to another..;)

Had this exact same problem with my SX350 months ago It was the cable I was using :(

nothing works. waiting for yihi to reply. I have another machine but it is not built yet.

I read thru this whole thread and Here's My :2c:
The SX mini, Why does it have to look exactly like a Zna?
I have both Dna's and 2 SX350's the 350 is a pretty good chip wont argue that.
This is my problem with the Chinese manufactures they copy everything
There is no innovation, every thing they do has bin done before, soon as there is a new popular mod/chip out, there all making there own version of it
There thinking is so simple minded if 40 watts is good 60 must be better, then 80 ,100, 200 till the wick catches fire.
Evolv is breaking ground with new innovations WHY? cause there Vapers like US! They are looking for a better safer way to enjoy vaping.
They don't just flood the market with a bunch of crap just to get your money.
I have had my fair share of problems with Evolv boards But they come good for there product no question asked.
IMO I would rather RMA my DNA's than use a Chinese chip Just like I would rather push my broken Chevy than drive a Toyota :)

Technonut, how's the battery life with only one 18650? If you don't mind, I'd love to hear what battery you're using, what kind of power you typically vape with, and how long the battery lasts. I'm seriously considering one of these, but I don't want to have to carry a million extra batteries around with me. I absolutely love the form factor, and I'm torn between getting this guy or building an SX350 or SXmini mod with dual batteries.

This is truer than you may know, from what I hear most Chinese vape companies are staffed if anything by smokers. Innokin is one of the few where they are actually vapers.

Question...

Just got my Mini and I'm wondering what the joules readout is? The manual says check their website and of course I can't find any info on it. It increases when the device is fired but doesn't change otherwise. I'm wondering if it is some kind of usage measure like farm equipment is measured on machine hours not miles.

Joules Display, tell you exactly how much vapor production in 1 minutes or 1 hour etc.

This is on the website. ...?
