Do you guys know the time frame on delivery for these things? I chose non-tracking shipping but order status is still "confirmed".

Has anyone had any success cutting slots with a hacksaw? My dremel was KIA unfortunately.

I ordered mine on Sunday night/Monday morning and received it this afternoon in Baton Rouge. Not sure if that helps...

just came in today. and i have to say the low resistance phat 5.5ml liquinator is amazing for my silver bullet. very solid, no leaking super easy to refill and as long as it attatched to my silver bullet and my drip tip it doesnt move around at all except for the closed position. the tank itself does spin around the cartomizer in the middle, but its really not a big deal because it may spin, but it doesnt move up and down.

As someone said, strange physics going on with these. I am curious as to the variations some are reporting...

I actually think Jed said it best a while back, though I couldn't find the post. Most issues reported have turned out to be related to the cartomizer or how it's slotted/punched. In some cases, it's been the juice (was for me recently). I think another variable is the PV. In some cases I've had marked differences using my tank on different devices or at different voltages.

Finally, if I can be so bold... is the user. Here are things I've screwed up with my Liquinator:
  • I've overfilled the carto thinking "This cartomizer needs to be wet. Very wet." No, only in the beginning do I need to prime.
  • Punching a hole too deeply, resulting in a punctured center tube.
  • Filling into the open end of the tank (directly into the polyfill) resulting in flooding. There's a way to do this correctly... and my way.
  • Mixing juices that... should never be mixed.
  • Running sweet juices at voltages I wouldn't on a plain old cart. It's kinda tough to get a horrible taste out of a cartomizer.
  • Leaving my Liquinator tilted down on a 100 degree plus day in a closed car. I've never been to Old Faithful, but I have seen a reasonable facsimile.

After a very drippy first fill experience (it would have made a good slapstick video) I had a decent experience with my first liquinator, but did get gurgling consistently after leaving it sit for a 1/2 hour. Not major leakage but gurgly.

I would agree that it has to be a carto issue and not the liquid (or even the heat really). As VaporEscense indicates in their own video -- if you cut into the filler, the liquid will just drain down the side before it gets a chance to soak into the filler.

Has anyone tried replacing the filler on a gurgly carto? I've never done this myself but I know it can be done. Or even twisting the filler?

Ideally, the cartos would be cut before the filler is put in. This would avoid cutting the filler and also avoid metal shavings in the filler. I realize we are a long way off from that but I think this is a good design to build off of (better than CE2/MAP tank).

I respectfully disagree. I'm using the pre-slotted dual coil carto that came with my Liquinator and I looked at it closely before adding juice. The slots were clean and the filler was undisturbed. In warm temperatures, my juice leaks out of the bottom. When I refrigerate my carto and tank and don't allow it to reach room temperature for extended periods of time, no leaks at all and it works wonderfully. From this, I conclude that higher temperatures do play a role in flooding/leaking. I haven't tried any other brands/types of cartos yet, so I can't say whether or not they would be affected similarly.

still thinking the teeth would drag out the filler but haven't tried it. So are we going with the punch a hole deforms the tube too much?

If you have a dremel you can slot the cartos but try not to go so far where you can actually see the poly....go only to the point where there is a thin sliver of metal left in the slot and then with a pick you can scrape the thin layer of metal out.

The other method which just tried today and was suggested by MWA is to take your dremel and slot your cartos but leave less of a thin layer of metal and then punch a hole (no need to punch too hard)....done this way there is hardly, if any, deformity to the carto. I have seen no difference in performance as compared to plain slotting and picking. I am using 801's so I have not had leaking issues to begin with but this might help with some of the other type cartos with leaking issues....not sure though.

It had already arrived at home when I posted this. Vaping like a madman ever since and it's great. My only gripe is how easily it slides, it hasn't been an issue, I've been pretty good about not touching it. I'd rather have the peace of mind knowing it's on there tighter. I will look into finding thicker o-rings to replace the inner ones and see how they work out.

With mine, I find that using the drip-tip to tighten has been good for me. I don't like to crank on the atty as I used to have problems with the battery connectors getting compressed.

I found that some of my other drip tips seemed to fit tighter, as far as using it to tighten. For a little extra grip, hold another finger around the tank, and turn the drip tip and tank as one. Mine stopped firing in the first few hours I was using it, and it had just come unscrewed enough to lose contact. That was a little too loose...

does someone knows or have a link for a replacement tank for their Phat 5.5ml version ? Mine cracked after 2 days of use, no drops or hits, it just cracked all the way, and once again suppliers fail to answer mails, then they wonder why some are buying from China. You don't get support either way, so better save some money :)

i think they are just swamped with the recent popularity.

Well, after a long break from the forums, I have been back to check out the new happenings of the ecig world. I talked to several people and decided to get a Provari (which will be here on Monday!) And after several conversions with other forum members like Harley, I was directed to this thread... I read through every post and ordered myself a 3 mil tank. I have never used a cartomizer before, but I am excited to see what these bad boys are all about. I have always been a 510 dripper since like month 3 of me starting to vape a couple years ago... I'm a heavy vapor and am to the point of (at least feeling like I am) dripping all the damn time. A long story short, I ordered my tank, and realized that I will be in the Dallas area tomarrow, and called the guys at Vaporesence and they held my order and letting me pick it up! I'm stoked and with report back with my experiences soon...

I agree with you Mudflap. I had an Echo-E cartomizer on my Prodigy and left it in the car today while grocery shopping (was in store for about 30 minutes). In one hour, I could pour the liquid out of the carto. The juice I have in the echo-e was 100% VG. The heat turned it into water.

Therefore, heat has a lot to do with it leaking as it thins the juice.

I am still on my first carto, my fourth tank. I gave mine an extreme heat test today. High 90's today in Midwest USA, with a 'miserable index' of 110. I take the tank with me to work, and today had to make some stops after work. I left it in a full-size Chevy van, all windows rolled up, lots of glass, for two hours. I was prepared for possible leakage, so I removed it from the PV, and put it in a ziplock sandwich baggie, wrapped in a paper towel, drip tip pointed up. The slot (this is a single-slot carto) was inside the tank, a 3ml about half full.

I came back, and there was a dime-sized spot in the paper towel where the battery connector was touching it, no signs of leaks around the carto O-rings. This is about what any full carto does when I stand them up overnight after a filling.

It vaped fine, but the aluminum drip tip was too hot to take anything but very short puffs. This was with 100% PG, at 100 deg F and above, this is about as thin as it gets.

This is still on my first carto, I bought two more. I see that others have very differing results with different cartos, so I may just be really lucky, and have The Golden Carto. More when I try another one, but I will wait until this one loses flavor or vape.

Temperature extremes aside, I really like this tank. I have never had a dry hit, and it tastes good all the time. Again, this is my first tank, I have no experience to compare it to. I cannot say that it is not love at first sight, but it is working well for me.

EDIT: this is a 510 choice on the carto. I am using it on a 510-510 adapter that has two air slots.

You are in for a special treat. I've had this tank for a few weeks now and still think it's amazing, especially paired with the Provari.
