I find a juice flavor I really like then the flavor falls off and I can't taste it, so I change and try something else then same thing happens. I can go back to the first flavor and it is just what I liked about it to start with. So I know it is my tastebuds and not my juice changing. Right now, daily I vape 3 different flavors of menthol and I don't have the flavor disappearing now. My question is will my tastebuds level out or will this continue. What should I be looking forward to in the future. I've been quit analogs since March 21st. How have your sense of taste changed?

I haven't quite quit yet but I can attest to this. If I vape the same flavor for more than 5 minutes it loses it's flavor a bit, if I switch it up, and come back to it, it tastes just as good as it did when I started. I'm not really too sure why, but that's how it has worked for me since I've started vaping.

DRINK TONS OF WATER. Vaping will dehydrate you which will affect your tastebuds also. If a flavor slacks off, leave it alone for a few days. Your tastebuds are still healing. I went through this about my 3rd week in and it was dreadful. I vaped the strongest flavor I could taste for a week, drank tons of water, and then it came back. Your sense of smell is also changing which is also involved in being able to taste flavors. Hang in there...all good things will come back improved.

Was it something I said?
I find this a little more common with juices containing any VG. VG seems to kinda coat the mouth, and a good toothbushing helps. Aside from that factor though, I've posted several times about odd tastebud stuff, as have many others. Some seem to find a daily vape early on, and stick with it for months with little change, so I'm not sure this stuff is universal. I've been wondering about a good palate cleanser, someone mentioned bubbly beverages before, i was thinking non-flavored juice might work well to switch in/out.

On the water tip, I'm really quite amazed, and a little worried about summer. I always drink water. In fact other than coffee and booze, water is all I drink. I carry a quart sized bottle around with me everywhere. Usually this time of year it gets emptied once a day. Lately I've been going through 3, and thats not counting other water drinking. If this is proportional, active summer periods this year could see me drinking well over 3 gallons a day?!?! I think that is definitely beyond the point where plain water won't cut it, and something with electrolytes will be needed. Bloog gets a lot less convenient if I have to drag an IV stand around with me! Any active folks vape through a summer in a hot climate yet? Does this go away?

Just remembered Leaford posted recently that sometimes the flavor doesn't wick as fast as the rest of the juice, and just resting a carto for a few minutes will help. Evie, have you tried switching cartos of the same flavor to see if it is that effect and not your tastebuds?

QUOTED FROM ANALOG: """I've been wondering about a good palate cleanser, someone mentioned bubbly beverages before, i was thinking non-flavored juice might work well to switch in/out."""

Fried Banana is the perfect palate cleanser. They serve it to you at the Brazilian steak houses. I will be eating one kind of meat and begin to get bored of it, and then take a slice of fried banana and eat that. And try another piece of steak... and wow.. taste buds are rocking again.

I ate more steak then I ever thought possible that night... and all because of the fried banana making sure to clear my palate, so that I wasn't bored of the steak, due to the rich flavor disappearing from constantly being tasted.

Analog, thanks for the reminder of what Leaford had said, I took the carto off and give it a little shake to get the juice down more and flavor is back. And I hate to think of us in this southern humidity this summer dragging an IV stand.

I switch up every other day or so but do so more for the variety of it. I also drink lots of water. My taste buds have adjusted and I stick to about 3 flavors most of the time.

Hey trichman, I find I rotate 3 or 4 flavors too. That's what works for me.

Don't feel alone A lot of us go through the same thing. I am still fighting taste bud issues and have been analog free for over three months now but not near as bad as when I first started. It was so bad when I first started vaping that I was considering going back to analogs. I hung in there and my taste buds are finally starting to work right. Like the others said drink plenty of water I get the flavored water as I find I can handle that much better Also change up flavors If you seem to not taste a flavor put it up for a few days and come back to it

Tastebuds are funny. I couldnt stand Bloog RY4, then I got some Halo Tribeca and I liked it. I was cleaning out the stash and saw I had some Bloog RY4 left, so I thought what the hell, and gave it a try again. WEIRD! Halo Tribeca and Bloog RY4 taste exactly the same to me... so lucky me I guess, I have some RY4 cartomizers and something to refill them with.

So it really tastes the same? Because that would be great to find a juice just like Bloog's flavor. Others I've tried are just too sweet.
