Why should it be locked? It is just a science discussion about vaping. We need more science and studies about vaping, don't you think?
It probably should be locked honestly. Lots of arguing and too much emotions involved. It just feels tense in this thread for a few pages now. The helpful science has kind of stopped and it now seems like just another argument with scientific terms thrown in.

Christ, the repeating and trying to ram TC down peoples throats in this thread is getting embarrassing. The vast majority of people (many have tried TC) prefer power mode, they have heard all this over and over. This thread makes me think TC users should be all locked in a room together so they can bore the hell out of each other.

It is a bit tense. It's becoming a bit like when one brings up TC on a planet. Not that I am suggesting doing that! I hijacked a thread yesterday and felt so bad. Mainly I think due to the term "hijacking" it has such negative connotations. I like TC sometimes and in some situations but I'm not a zealot about it or anything. I like having that relationship to TC. etc.

Why it is embarrassing to setup TC to vape exactly like power mode? I would think many would like this. In TC terminology this is called power dominant. And a vaper wouldn't be able to tell the difference between TC and power mode configured this way. The TC that people normally try is called temperature dominant and then they complain it doesn't vape like power mode. Of course it doesn't.

8 pages of repeat, rinse. The OP question was "TC: Any reason against it?" :offtopic:

Oh not another one of these crappy claims. For Pete's sake, PBusardo did a long video a couple of years ago in how Aspire's battery factory manufactures its cells and how they are manufactured for vapers. And how they are temperature tested for a couple months before being sold to ensure they won't blow up...
Sorry, but that's just a ridiculous claim. No battery manufacturer can guarantee that their batteries will not explode or burst into flames. Lithium ion batteries have inherent risks because of their chemistry. That is just one "Inconvenient Truth". As vapers, we either choose to accept those risks or not vape with them.

Some lithium ion chemistries are somewhat "safer" than others, as Mooch explains in the second video. But there are NO safe lithium ion batteries.

Aspire's batteries are not the best performing batteries on the market. Quite often, their advertised specifications are greatly exaggerated, as most Chinese batteries are.

Sorry for the :offtopic: but I could not let that comment slip by unchallenged.

Uh, yeah @Baditude I did not go, "Oh my what is the relevance?" when I read your post. I also have to commend @Tim Wiseman for restating the original question.

The biggest REASON AGAINST TC is that it causes dissention and argument, I mean I happen to find this thread to be funny but if I were a new user, my MAIN thought would be, "I am not trying it, apparently it turns vapers into JERKS, I don't want to be "that guy" and etc."

The vast majority of people (many have tried TC) prefer power mode,

I do not disagree, but I will say that that there are quite a few mods out there that really shouldn't even claim to do TC since they do it so poorly or inaccurately. The vast majority of mods only do a "meh" job of it as well. Sadly the mods that really do TC correctly and accurately are in the minority. So if a person tried TC on a bad or even a "meh" mod, that COULD have influenced their opinion.

Make no mistake, I am NOT pushing TC nor am I saying it is for everyone. I just know that my first TC experience was on one of those "meh" mods and I too switched back to power mode because it WAS better, on THAT mod. Now that I have a mod that really shines with TC, I prefer TC. I mean if Taco Bell was your first experience with Mexican food, you really shouldn't use that experience to decide you hate ALL Mexican food.

How about the whole quote in context? Or does that not suit the agenda to push your way?
"Now that I’ve started using an RDA and an RTA on my two iStick Picos 75, I’ve realized that I can easily switch to temperature control, if I use the right coils. It seems to me that there are only upsides to TC, and it’s basically a no-brainer to switch to it. Or is there a significant downside that I’m missing?"

No there is no significant downside to TC.
It is worth trying every way of vaping. If you're bored with the topic stop coming into it.
