Should have boiled at 209-210°f at that elevation. That WOULD indicate a lower than spec'd tcr. What was your tcr set to for that test @Landman ?

I was using a .csv that @balazsk had sent me. I can't remember if I also tested it with just the .00138 TCR value or not, but I'm thinking I didn't.

Yes, please do a water test and a dry cotton test @Landman , that would def help Jeremy and I to understand more about why the Evic can't handle unkamen's 430ss. It should!

Using the 304ss tcr for good performance would def indicate a problem with the metallurgy.

Let us know what you find to be the "actual" tcr.

Just in case you feel like you're being used as a substitution for @TheBloke, well, you kinda are. You have a DNA200 and the know-how to use it. Yeah, no temp probe, but we'll take what we can get!!!!

I feel that you will find the tcr of unkamen's 430ss to be much lower than spec....good luck friend

Well shoot, dead end. You wick with rayon though so a water boiling test at 138 could be performed anytime, yaaa?

Alright, I received the vape Vine NiFe52 and it's dead soft... like close to nickle. It's about as soft as the SS317L sample that Unkamen sent. I'm going to make some coils and run some water tests.

@TheotherSteveS Well you have my interest and I have some money just sitting in Paypal so thinking of trying some 26awg Zivipf NiFe48 that you like so much. What kind of coil are you wrapping. I have just used 5wrap spaced 3mm coils with Ni and Ti but what works best with the NiFe that you can dry burn and you are thinking of switching to. I am like you and I really get alot of miles out of Ti but this stuff sounds interesting. I am also lazy as you could tell by the pics of my Ti coils before I washed them. Haven't tried dry burning them didn't see a need.

Yes, I have only one atty still using Ni 200, none on Titanium.

Waiting for NiFe 48 (Zivpf) 24 awg to change the last atty to Nifethal

Exclusively microcoils now, aka contact coils.

You should try Ti anyway I have never gotten any white powder. Works really well also but I still like the Crazy Wire from UK better then Unkamen.

Actually SE has a setting for Nifethal 52 which I think is the same as Zivipf NiFe48 .00403
