Has anyone used SS wire with the DNA40?

Is it workable?

Thanks

Eric
No, not SS 430, but I can guarantee that NiFe48 works on the 40. Doesn't matter the resistance, though lower is better. At 0.18-0.24 the 40 thinks you're using straight Nickel. [emoji6]

STM users are like the JW...
Once they get in a group, you have to beat them away with big sticks... [emoji14]ervy: [emoji38]
Hi we would like to tell you about our lord and savior the subtank mini. he was sent by his father the subtank plus.

Wow I didn't realize there were so many STM fanboys besides me. I have 12 all I use I love em. They are reasonably priced work with any wire I put on them and extra parts readily available.
We have 10 STPlus but I've not been using them lately, though my wife still rotates through 4 of them. They're definitely the workhorse of the tanks. 7ml of juice with a single coil deck lasts a nice long time...

I had such bad luck with a DNA40 I couldn't even make it work with nickel. DOH
:)
One week on a dna40 w nickel has got me started my journey on high tcr alloys and hybrid builds.
Never used it w/ ni200 ever since but w/ everything else:)

I was one of the very early adopters of the DNA 40 with Ni 200. Argued, as politely as possible, 'this is not the right wire'. NiFe48 has thoroughly convinced me I was RIGHT.

What a delight: easy contact coils, dry-burning, rewicking, just like Kanthal A1.

If you like Subtanks, add one of these to your collection:

Trinity Sub X Glass Tank - Kanger SubTank Mini

The other thing I like about STM's, and it's not a functional item, but mixing and matching tank colors, and orings, as well as inexpensive colored glass tanks, gives one a lot of LOOK options, and you can get almost any part, on any site.

Call me crazy but I can't understand why one would want more than 2 of any tank/mod out there. I guess I am just one of the people that prefers variety. Rather than having a whole pile of STMs I have a whole little collection of different RTAs (Cthulhu, Zeph, billow v2, gob mini, aroma, Goliath v2, Bellus). The STM was a fine tank but once I got to making advanced builds those little screws just weren't cutting it anymore. Once you go posts it's hard to go back.

really?? I havent tried on a DNA40 but on a sigelei 75 (Ni mode only of course), I am down at 310F with a resistance of 0.22..The TCR of NiFe48 is substantially lower than Ni. Hard to believe you can vape it at the same temp as you would for Ni. Or did I misunderstand??

I'm all set with an all glass subtank. Would be all too easy to break.

Anything can break, what's nice about it besides being only glass, no mystery metals, paints, etc. is how easy it is to clean. Good for swapping juices. I have two cheap plastic bell caps as well, and while this is a lot more I'm glad I sprung for it.

Not the same temp, about 40F-60F LOWER. But, it Vapes a treat.

Of course the resistance also has to be LOWER. Vaping ATM on the 40 at 450F 24 watts. Were I on a 200 the temp 'might' be higher as well as the watts...

I used to but once I tried the STM I sold all my KF V4's and KFL's they didn't play well with TC at the time. I still have a few carto tanks but I'm preparing for Vapocolypse one gal in Louisiana has been pulled over for vaping they thought it was a cell phone. At least they didn't think it was a gun and shoot her. If they sign this bill into law she isn't going to take anything expensive in the car for fear of confiscation. I like what works well and is pretty much straight forward. I don't use them all but I have them and love em. I guess this has already been signed into law just not enforced yet.

You only have to worry about mystery stuff when it comes to clones lol. All those "colored" ones on fasttech lol.

the wire-dependent temp difference for a given wire type isnt a function of the coil resistance. I still dont get your point..?? If the temp differential is 60F at 0.2 ohm, it will still be 60F at 1.2...Did I miss something?!?!

The temp difference will depend on the set temp but even that wont vary a huge amount between NiFe48 and Ni200. SS and Ni200 maybe!

you just cant beat a STM with a stick, no matter how hard you swing it, i once saw a Mack truck bounce of a STM, and i watched a STM beat Chuck norris's ..... really they're just an awesome consistant vape, works really well with TI wire and its super solid
I agree its a good tank but it certainly can be beat!!
