.00305 for this one.(approx)
After dry cotton burn test I'm using 0.00258 for TCR (Crazywire SS430)
Well, using that TCR on my 133 result in a hot vape that never hits temp.
Mind you, I only increased watts to 60 with a 90W preheat for 1 sec.
This is on a Supreme running 27ga CW430 7/6 wraps for .27 ohms for the pair.

Same coil using the Steam-Engine 430 curve. This is at 42W with a 55W preheat.

With SE 430 TCR it clearly hit temp rather quickly and throttled way down.
What wattage are you getting a good vape with with other wire of that size and configuration?

He's using 27ga and you are using 25ga. It might be possible that it's just the 25ga SS430 from CW that has an off TCR.

I have 24, 25, 27, and 31ga SS430 I bought from CW. So far I've only tested the 25ga and are getting the same results as you DW. I hope to get some time in the next couple of days to test out the other gauges of SS430 I received from CW.

Cheers,
Steve

The composition that CW lists is the same for each gauge and indicates 50% Ni. I have no idea what ss430 Steamengine used for their TCR but it must have been something the same/similar to Unkamen's Ni free 430. The TCR for with NI and without I suspect would be quite different.
But of coarse there's the chance that CW got their "wires crossed"
I've only built two coils with it so far, one in my atty, and one for the dry cotton test in my Magma. Hopefully I'll get around tonight before I go to work and get one in one of my K5's ....yep...little time.

According to CW's site Ni is less than 1%. That doesn't seem to jive with what I'm seeing with my 25ga. It seems like what SS430 should be though.

Hey I was only off by 100 X.....LOL. I actually read it correct the first time around. The high resistance should have been a clue that it wasn't 50% NI.

So I got around to get a coil of 25 gauge CW SS430 in my Kafun 5
Here is with SE SS430 CSV
13680196_1264838593540362_8665916870777467513_o.jpg

And with my DIY CSV
13937957_1264838830207005_3782135193730785925_o.jpg

This has a setting of 40 watts with 1 second full 50 watt preheat, performance is not quite a good as the twisted 28 gauge Unkamen's 430 that it replaced but there may be other factors causing that...too soon yet.

Which doesn't perform, the SE CSV or your DIY TCR?
To me, the SE curve looks great on TC.

Well with SE 430 curve either it is way off or your wick dried up as the wattage dropped to near 18 watts.
The accuracy of the temp is tied directly to the accuracy of the TCR so my temp may be a bit artificial, here's my single coil 25 gauge 35/45 watts.

Don't we want the watts/power to fall off when it hit temp? Otherwise, we'd be in power mode.

The Crazywire SS430 barely makes any vapor at all with SE SS 430 curve, it hit temp almost instantly and throttled down to 7 watts....I want to maintain 40 watts without reaching the set temp.

Why? That's the equivalent of running it in power mode then. If it never reaches set temp and keeps running at 40 watts.

In TC I want mine to reach the set temp then throttle back to keep me there. Preferably with a straight line not bouncing wildly up and down. My Unkamen SS430 and NiFe 52 (48) do just that.

Cheers,
Steve

Edit My CW SS430 25ga did the same thing with the SE curve. Limited out almost immediately producing very little vape. I'm not sure what's going on with CW's 25ga SS430. There is no way I can use the SE curve or the TCR of .00138.

Here's no air, just holding the fire button down. This is twisted 28 gauge ss 430 from Unkamen on DNA75 with K5

Hitting temp and throttling back, well that what happens as the wick get dry. I'm not sure why anyone would want it to reach temp and throttle back otherwise.

The reason I want that is to get a consistent vape. I want it to hit 420F and stay there, not constantly be climbing. To me constantly getting hotter is the equivalent of vaping in power mode.

The main reason I use TC is not for dry hit prevention. It's to have a consistent vape.

Cheers,
Steve

I'm just not coming up with the right way of putting it. About the best way I can put it is I'm getting a terrific vape while still maintaining temp protection. I did it the way you're referring to before I started doing it this way.

Did you order that directly from Evolv? I'm curious about the new chip, 2a charging, reverse polarity protection, and a higher current fuse caught my eye.

Cheers,
Steve
It's on the main page, 60, 75 and 250 under "DNACustom"
