For any that are vaping Ti on an Evic VT I would be interested how you set up your device. I personally have not found the Ti setting to my liking. I have as a result been running my Velocity with dual 26 ga Ti, 10 wraps measuring .16 ohms and using the Ni setting. I like the vape warm and have the Evic set for 520F and 60W and find this very satisfying. As liquid becomes less in my cotton I will get the expected temp protect message intermittently and more frequently as I continue to vape. I have not ever tried to achieve a really dry wick nor have I done the cotton burn test. As the quality of the vape diminishes I just re-drip. I have found this to be a very good way to function with Ti on my Evic.

I received my Koopor mini today and have set up a tank with an SS coil. It looks interesting and I will report on my experience in another thread. The mini is a beautiful device and I look forward to learning its features. One thing that is problamatic for me personally is the small screen size. Same size as the ver2 SXK Zero mods. My old eyes have a difficult time reading it, even using a magnifying lens.

I run a Velocity on my Evic with TI and LOVE it though not as much as my X cube 2 for some reason. I do get a great, slightly warm but not too hot vape at 500. I have found with some builds though sometimes I have to bump the temp up to like 530 but I've never vaped it higher than that.

My Ti coil in the Velocity is 3mm and 10 wraps. It shows steady at .16 ohm. Also the wicking is very tight. I re-wicked after pulsing the coil to dull red and quenching in cold water 5 or 6 times and using an old toothbrush to clean and a small screw driver to strum the coils. The wire looked very good before I rewicked. I had been vaping those coils in the Velocity off and on for about 3 weeks. They are holding uo really well.

I have now been vaping about half a tank of juice on the Koopor mini with a .5, SS coil, reading .55 on the Koopor screen. I am using the TI mode and the SS is holding in TC. Vaping the SS at 440F and that seems good on this device. Had tried as high as 560 but it was too hot at that level. The SS coil is 304 stainless. There is an interesting story on this that I will post another time. I have not as yet had time to explore the mini for its hidden treasures so I look forward to that in the coming days. The device is very small and quite lovely and has a very solid feeling in hand. I am pleasantly pleased that the SS 304 works as well as it seems to in the devices Ti mode.

I only use a small amount of concentrate in my juice, and have coils running since June with no drop off in vape or taste.
I will clean them when I change the rayon wick, about once a month.
They're easy to clean, like kanthal but don't let it get too hot, the gunk burns off when it's black, then a clean with a toothbrush and water.
I run Ti in TC mode and wattage mode, never had a dry hit.
concentrate, do you mean like of the herbal medicinal variety? Can you mix that with juice and it still taste ok? :)

I agree with your view of the very nice X-Cube II "brick" ..lol. I have been rocking the TFV4 on it since that tank came to me last week. It makes for a beastly combination. It is forcing me to quicken my DIY juice interest that I hope to get into in another month or so. Probably the only way I can continue with this insane hobby.

I surprised at your settings there Alaska. Seems you are just using tc to warn you of an impending dry hit but not actually tc vaping per se. The evic is only 60w, not enough power for your build to reach tp until you start running dry. 3mm coils hold a lot of juice and require more like 80+ watts to get up to proper vaping temps with dripper-like airflow. Not to say you can't turn down the airflow to help heat the coils but then the vapor production and flavor can suffer.

For Ti dual coils in an rda I'd probably build a 6-8 wrap, 2.25-2.5mm coils. Maybe 28g? Smaller coils will be easier for the evic to heat within its 60w range and allow you to tc vape at normal temp settings in Ti mode.

In Ti mode I vape at 490-510°f @40w on my STminis. That's single coil of course and also less airflow than an rda. At those settings I bounce off tp constantly and the vape is outstanding. Smooth as glass.

In summary: build smaller coils that better suit the evic's 60w limitation so you can take full advantage of true tc vaping, that is, allowing the tc mod to regulate power while bouncing off temp protect.

Oh good, that seems to be OK? Did you turn it down to 200°F?
Golly Bloke, maybe something is awry since I have been running the SS 304 coil heat at between 390 and 420 F on the Koopor. The major complaint I have with the device so far is that when making selections in the menu that uses a small collection of icons that lead into the adjustment that only appears for perhaps 2-3 seconds. Because the screen is so small, by the time I have been able to only partially read the info displayed the screen closes and returns you to the main firing screen. In my opinion this is a major flaw and hopefully if enough people can provide complaints possibly this could be changed with an increase in view time with a firmware up grade. Post your feelings on this after you have a chance to use the one you have on its way, if you would please.

Ihave dropped the temp to 350Fand it seems very good at that level. I was getting a strong unpleasant throat hit at the higher temp and lowering the temp has improved that and continues to provide a warm vape. I tried 200 and for some reason (perhaps some error on my part) the device switched into watts mode and I had to reset into temp mode. I imagine that was not due to the 200F setting but, anything seems possible...lol.

Dropped now to 280F and the vape is good at this level as well. A little cooler but still satisfactory.

Opps- a few draws at 280 and the device switched into watts again, A bit of a mystery here.

No dna200 for me unfortunately. Perhaps I'm just waiting too long before I try to clean it. I barely get a week out of a coil before its too gunked to use but then again I use the same one all day everyday and don't switch between mods/rdas like most people do. I'll try the water and toothbrush next time. Going to start looking for a solvent I can just toss the coil in to eat away the gunk quickly and not harm the Ti.
What wick are you using? I use my erlprinz exclusively 24/7 and I only rewick / clean the coil maybe once a month or whenever I feel like. I have gone over 275ml between cleaning / rewicking more than once.

I've heard the same complaint about the Koopor - the menu time is far too short. The good news is that it's firmware upgradeable, so there's a chance, if Smok deigns to do it, that a future upgrade will fix things. They have been fairly responsive to requests and complaints on the Koopor's bigger brother, the XCube 2. But being so cheap we can't hold out huge hope for a flood of upgrades to the Koopor. But I would be fairly confident this will be fixed at some point - they did release several updates for the earlier M80.

As for your temperature - as @cigatron mentioned earlier, you're not really getting a TC vape. In fact with those settings, you are in effect not controlling the temperature at all. Setting the Titanium mode to 400°F your actual maximum temperature on an SS 304 coil will be about 1146°F :) Perhaps less if the Koopor underheats, but still enormous. Of course it won't actually reach such temperatures with a wet wick, so you've basically got a normal VW vape - a perfectly fine and safe vape on Stainless Steel, but not with any kind of dry hit prevention.

If you set your Koopor to 200°F, you will, in theory, limit the temperature to around 260°C / 500°F. Still a bit high. However, the Koopor may well be an under-heater, like the XCube 2, Joyetech EVic-VT, and others are. In which case 200°F will more likely give you about 450°F. Which is great.

Yesterday I tested the Joyetech EVic-VT with an SS 304 coil, with the mod set to 100°C (212°F). The achieved temperature on the coil was between 230-240°C, which is 446°F-464°F. A good TC vape, and exactly where I normally set my coils. The minimum in °F mode is 200°F - 93°C - so if I set the mod in °F instead of °C, I most likely could have got it to 220-230°C, or 428-446°F.

I don't know whether the Koopor underheats to the same extent as the Joyetech. Actually I don't know if it underheats at all, but it seems very likely that it does.

So in conclusion: for SS 304, set your Koopor or your EVic-VT to 200°F in Titanium mode. Then your your vape is definitely going to be around 450°F on the EVic, and on the Koopor it will be 450-500°F, with 450°F or near to it the most likely.

Which is a good temp for a TC vape, definitely preventing dry hits and probably only just singeing a completely dry wick (and not even that if it's Rayon instead of cotton.)

I will test this properly as soon as my damn Koopor arrives! Stuck in UK customs since Tuesday, the longest I've had to wait for any package from China. And the second I ordered, from 3FVape, hasn't even been despatched yet.

I agree with you completely on the irritating short display time of the screen on the Kooper Mini. I had one loaned by a friend for an evening and played with it a lot. It took me quite a while to become sufficiently familiar with the menu to be able to respond with confidence to the hair trigger menu and it's irritating as hell. On the other hand once I got the hang of it the device performed very well and is a fantastic performer for the price in my opinion.

I hope they do provide an update that slows down that menu system. It would triple their sales if folks didn't complain about it online and I suspect anyone receiveing a Kooper Mini as it is now will complain.

The new Wire Wizard is also great - this is what I use primarily these days, as it allows me to see the resistance of a given length of wire or given coil (wraps x diameter); the other way around from the normal coil wizard where you enter the resistance first and it gives you the other figures. Plus it has the TCR/TFR figures and more.

These days I never build to a resistance, I build the coil I want and then check the resistance. Building to a resistance is so Mech ;)

I am glad you agree that the screen goes off far to quickly. If one has 20/20 vision maybe it would be marginally acceptable but, I have a cataract in one eye and often need a magnifying lens to read fine print. The tiny screen combined with the rapidity of menu time out is a deadly combo for my old eyes.
