Well now I'm kinda disappointed. I was hoping this was going to be THE wire. Mine has left Germany and it is 26. I'm planning on a maybe 6 or 7 wrap 3mm microcoil to start. I take it that it takes a little more power then Ti. With Ti 5 wrap 3mm 26awg I only have to use 13-14J to hit temp quickly at 400F. Using .00405 TCR do you still use the same temp with this stuff I use 400F with NI or Ti and it is perfect for me.

Ok so here is my wire journey to date.

Started with Ni200 - Hated the taste therefore hated tc....

Went to SS317L - Liked it because I could build my crazy coils but it was very sporadic due to such a low tcr.

On to Ti - Really liking this one!!! Worked great in my tanks for regular builds. But always worried that I would over heat it and ruin the coil while prepping or cleaning. But I figured it out pretty quickly and have been very successful. Started liking TC again!!!

Last week received my Unkamen NEINethal 52........ we know how that worked out.

Today received my Reactor NiFe wire build a twisted 26g dual coil on my Kennedy V2 set tcr curve from SE. Best vape to date in temp control!!! Prepped coils just as I due with ka1 with no issues. Temp is staying perfect. At 480F dry burn there was a very very slight yellowish browning on the cotton just as I would expect. Now I would usually not pay this much for wire but on this journey I had to try it. Im glad I did.

I have my Zivipf wire ordered and am very excited to try it now. I ordered the NiFe30 & the NiFe48 to try both. The NiFe30 I just bought the thinnest I could get to use as wrap wire in Clapton builds which will actually up the TCR instead of decreasing it like im used to.

The materials works. but so far I see no particular benefit over Titanium

I'm going to explore more thoroughly

It is good though that we have a few choices to play with. At least until your graduate student finally introduces a wire with S/S resistivity, Ti taste and TCR and FeCrAl-ish protective alumina layer :)

I am offended :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Is anyone in here using contact coils or is everyone wrapping contact coils then pulling them apart to create the spacing you want or are you wrapping on screws or bolts to create your spacing.

I wrap parallels and then unscrew them. You end up with two perfectly similar equally spaced coils.

I have been vaping on my dual coil NienFethal on my Aromamizer for the last 2 days and I am rather pleased with the vape. Using a .00117 TCR and have my SXM set for 410F using 36J or 40J and the flavor and warmth isn't bad. Getting used to it now. I may next try a twist in the next few days with 28ga Ti and 28ga NienFethal but will need to modify the TCR with another water test. This build just needs a bit more mass as I have been used to 24ga Ti twisted with 32ga Kanthal A1 on my Aromamizer, but I must say with this dual 26ga NienFethal the battery life is about double of what I was getting.

I would really like to know what this wire is and wondering if anyone has heard back from Ralph from UnkamenSupplies about his wire.

I'm totally screwed these days. 6-32 machine screw winds end up at approx 2.7-2.8mm.

I just made my first SS430 coils yesterday, 28gauge on a 7/64 drill bit. 9/10 wraps came out to about 1ohm according to my multimeter and the Cloupor Mini +.

I run the Cloupor in TI mode @ 240F and so far it's doing ok. This is a single coil cotton build on a Brass Kraken Clone. 100% VG, 24mg Nic.

The Mini + seems to keep the Joules at around 12-14 as I puff along, mouth to lung.

Pretty happy the way it worked out, The SS430 is a little springy but that does not bother me.

I actually let the 200ft spool unravel itself a bit and just keep it all in a ziplock bag.

Very clean stuff, from Unkamen.

The thing I like about tensioned screw winds, other than longer wick life, is that the coil retains it's symmetry better. Contact coils that have been expanded into spaced coils have the tendency to return to their previous state; contact, or very nearly contact. With a tensioned screw wind if I mount the coil without inducing extraneous forces while bending/capturing legs etc, the coil retains its symmetry for months.

Right behind you...
Like I mentioned many times in many places, if I go more than two or three days without yanking a coil and putting in a fresh one on an atty I'm actively using, I'm probably dead, and I re-wick daily. So gunk-prevention isn't a factor for me, nor is any sort of long-term deformation. Therefore, the effort of meticulous coil wrapping is worthless to me, when it's going in the trash in a matter of hours anyway.
