Hello guys, I have new set of 100 W, iStick with TC. And of course automiser with ni-200 coil. What tempeture and W should i use? How it works? Can i smoke it on 100 W and on what tempeture?

I usually start with 25W and 300F then I'll hit the fire button a few times while watching the display. Did it reach 300F quick enough for me? Am I getting much (if any) vapor production? The reason I start so low on temperature is there are times when the MOD does not read the base resistance correctly and with a LOW temperature I'm less likely to damage the wick.

Then I'll slowly ramp the temperature up +20F at a time until the vapor production+flavor suits my liking. If the temperature ramp time is to long (usually on dual coil builds) I may raise the wattage to ~40W to compensate.

I think there is some confusion going on here.

You asked about SS403. I asked if you meant 430 or 304 as I haven't heard of 403 being mentioned on here before. DWcraig1 came in and posted a link to lots of types of SS in the 400 series which did in fact include 403 so I thought perhaps I had missed something and asked about its TCR, resistance, and assuming it was usable where to get it.

What you linked is SS430 which is what I assumed you were talking about in your first post and not ss403 because before your post 403 has been mentioned only once ITT and that was simply "Type 403 is a special high quality steel made for blades and buckets for steam turbine and jetengine compressors. This grade is eminently suited for very highly stressed parts. This material is magnetic in all conditions." and nothing after that until your post but I wanted to make sure just in case there was a wire type I missed.

To answer your original question. I have some of that exact wire you linked(ss430 from Unkamen) and aside from it only being 28g I find that it works very well though I typically do at least a 2 strand twist on it.

I seem to be fixated on the number 403 but you are right, 430 is what it should have read.
/notes to self, Be more PRECISE in future :)
(likely mixed up 304 with 403)

Thank you for your opinion on the SS430.
317 not so easy to find at home, but have some and all is good.
Have 304 too but can only find in 22 gauge, not 26-28.
Curious about 430 for that reason but have seen some others write it off due to believing 317 is the only one to use for vaping. Corrosion issues maybe?
Just trying to sort if that is really important or not - how long to corrosion, good/bad and so on.

54 you may have missed my post last night. I'm 99% sure that I've found somewhere that will have 410 in small quantities for sale soon. I should know more by the end of next week but I've got my fingers crossed and its looking like it will pan out.

Nice, you can get it in form of mig welding spools but in a multi pound spool that's about $80 + shipping.

I thought about it but without knowing how springy it is I decided against it. Keep us updated ;)
