What a read! Only took me a week and a half! Lol.
Thank you to everyone who contributed. Learned me alot I did!
Probaly never gonna have time or energy to try all these different wire types as I am still trying out the orginials of Ni, Ti, ss316, and I believe I have 430?(maybe its 403 or 304 something like that), oh and some Nife 70 just got here from kidney puncher thats high on my list to give a try.
Did anyone try the "notch coil" in Tc yet?
Anyways just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to post all your test, methods, findings etc.....

I would be wrapping the ss430 with 34 gauge Kanthal, just one option.
Maybe you 're doing dual core ss, not sure what you mean by 28 28.
I'm wrapping 28 gauge ss in 28 gauge ss. I tried it wrapped with kanthal and it didn't work that great

Dunno... the mod works fine on Kanthal, Ni200, and Ti#1, but I've never gotten a SS430 coil to work in it.

Spaced or contact coils....or both?
Have you tried it with other TC mods?

I've heard don't know for a fact but have heard that 316, 316L work the best on cheaper mods that have the ability to jump into Voltage mode. Like I say IDK all I have is 316L and it works great in TC mode on my YiHi's of course but also on my VTCmini and RX200 I do use the TCRmode on the last 2 at about 0103 and them the temp is pretty close for Ti on those I use 373 and temp is right, when I say right the same as on my SX's. I still can't decide which I like better Ti or SS for TC. Both are good.

Of my daily vapers I have 3 with SS 3 with Ti trying to decide which I like better. Since Temco started making Ti which in my opinion is the best I have tried and they also have SS 316L which is the only SS they sell it's really hard to decide. They do have slight differences. The Ti seems a little smoother. I just started using SS about 5 days ago.

I don't know of a US seller but Crazy Wire in the UK does I think. I know Unkamen had 430 but don't know the sizes. Temcoindustrialpower.com has 316L in about any gauge you want. It's really clean and seems to vape well. It's a little more expensive then Lightning Vapes though.
Unk has down to 28. Its where I got mine lol

2legsshrt: none of the current crop of mods have "voltage mode" rather there is VW (which is what they will jump into if the wire does not react like TC wire), TC mode and a few have "bypass" mode.

Sadly 316L is becoming popular because many of the JoyTech powered mods have a preset for it. However if you look at its TCR it is one of the WORSE wire types to use in TC mode with. If I need to use SS I pick 430 however most of my builds use NiFe48 or NiFe70. Both of which have higher TCR's than TI-01 and work great for vaping applications.

FYI: YiHi boards don't have the 'jump out of TC mode' feature. One of the many redeeming qualities of YiHi chipsets.
