Just one question. Who in the real world is stupid enough to drill a hole in their battery? I've used this type of battery for years and have had no problems. If you can't take care of it then read the direction. I don't often carry a drill with me to punch holes in my batteries when I'm using them. (suppose to be funny.)
It's called accidents happen
It just isn't wise to have the side of a battery exposed to a potential drop against a sharp rock, etc. It's not like you gotta drill the thing to get that reaction you just need to puncture the outer casing.
Not claiming it will happen, just saying that setup makes it possible.
