I JUST DISCOVERED THE VERY BEST CLEANING METHOD FOR ALL VAPORIZERS! AFTER I READ ABOUT THE COCA COLA METHOD WORKING, THE LIGHT WENT OFF OVER MY HEAD!!

EFFERDENT!

YUP, I TRIED IT AND IT WORKS LIKE A DREAM!!! IT EVEN DRIES OUT FASTER!!! THEN I BLEW OUT THE WATER MANUALLY; TURNED IT UPSIDE DOWN, ON A PAPER TOWEL AS SUGGESTED; AND 2 HOURS LATER IT WAS DRY AS A BONE!!

AND I'M vaping AGAIN!!

I have just had another atty pass the four week mark doing the daily dry burn ..no drop in performance at all, no messing about with baths, soaks or anything else....dry burns are my cleaning recommendation.

I'm vaping PG juice. Is there a reason you might ask? I reloaded my cart this morning and the atomizer has been working like a 'trooper'!!!
THIS MAY BE AN EXPERIMENT ON MY PART, BUT, the efferdent is for the purpose of NOT scratching or harming dentures that go in a person's mouth. I thought about using alka selzer, for the same 'effervescent' effect.... but I thought the aspirin in it might just coat it!!! Then it dawned on me: HEY, efferdent does the same bubble action and it's a product used on something people put in their mouths!

PG and VG have totally different characteristics in how they clog up a atomizer and how they can be cleaned. Cleaning methods what work with VG may not work with PG and vice versa.

This was an experiment using straight product and you should not use it. If you do, you do so at your own risk and rinse the yeck out of it as this is hard core acid.

I use this several times a week in the course of my work, please be careful. Rinse, rinse , and rinse again.
I have used it experimenting on cleaning atties too but I had to follow up with a burn off to get the coil perfectly clean. I also used an alchohol clean after the "nicklesafe" cleaning to help get all the acid rinsed out.

While it is food grade acid- it requires a lot of rinsing to everything it has touched. We do a plain water clean cycle and wash the bin after we use this on an ice machine. I hate to sound overcautious, but I've lost quite a bit of hide to this stuff, it is very strong.

I've had the heating element soaking in pure ice machine cleaner for a full week since last Thursday. I can definitely tell a significant effect, but it's still got a ways to go. The atty that coil came from ran PG exclusively and was used till it failed. It had become quite cool before it's failure. Once I opened it up I found a considerable amount of buildup on the heating coil.

Origionally I could not even tell there was once a coil in there. Only a thick blob! Now I can actually see the actual coil in areas and the shape of a coil evolving on the rest of the atty. No doubt that it is working, but not nearly as quickly as reported by Sun. Most of Sun's tests were on attys that ran VG from what I understand. It would seem that the ice machine cleaner will eventually work on PG, but not nearly as quick. At this point I'm not sure if it is even fast enough to be worth while unless you want to leave your atty soak for a week or longer.

For those who use VG this might be worthwhile, but the jury is still out of PG users.

As has been said by others, this is a rather strong acid. Care must be used when working with it, and you MUST rinse VERY thoroughly before using it again. You have been warned and assume all risk by attempting this cleaning method.

Well I tried the ice cleaner. I used the stuff from the link on the first page "Non nickel safe"
(Clear Fluid.) I did a soak of pure solution for 12 hours, this was too long. The wick on the atomizer changed to a slightly copper color but after a through rinsing they do work. I would suggest you boil them for a few minutes before using.
Has anyone done a dry burn on the M401 series? It said in the book that came with it DO NOT DO THIS. I did and it still works but tastes terrible. This was the same atomizer I used the solution on. Since I don't want to use it due to the copper color I took it apart and the coil was burnt black in color. I think this was from the dry burn.

I've tried several things. My first, I cleaned after about a week. It worked, just didn't work the same.
Since then I've soak in alcohol, vinegar, and coke. I've boiled but it never is anywhere close to new. First there'd be a burnt taste but generally, it will go away. Then there is the problem of them getting hotter faster and for some reason the battery won't shutdown like it does with a newer one.
So, I just use until they stop producing a good vapor and then clean and then they go into the mod pile because my mods are manual.
When the next comes around, I plan on trying out the Efferdent.

Hi grumpster ....I have been mostly using ecopure which is VG but I am also using some TW 36mg for a bigger hit quite often and that's PG.

Well, I must give the atty's I'm using credit. I'm getting four or more months out of them, and all but one still works after the cleaning. The one is actually still working but since it lost part of the arch, it sure doesn't produce much vapor.

With my own experience of atties it just baffles me when I hear anyone say they have had that kind of life out atties. I was incredibly lucky even to get a fortnight out an atty until I tried doing the daily dry burn, at least I have finally found something that is giving me much better luck with atties now.

Well I'm in to my 48th day with my 901 atty and the cola soak. Knock on wood. Maybe we should retire these babies to the atty hall of fame.
