Although zombified, I managed to coil and wick 2 of the Aqua V2's today after a bit more cleaning of the post holes. Both 2.4mm id, 28 gauge kanthal, single coils, one came to 1.3 ohm, the other with one less wrap to 1.08 ohm. Used petemoss' wicking example with rayon and... Fan-freakin-tastic!

The last build will have to wait until tomorrow.

That's how I'll wick it myself, since I'm using rayon these days. And it cuts down on the waste through trimming

The nice thing about Pete's wicking is that it's self-feeding and no liquid is wasted; rayon will keep up.

I was running a split wick since I got the aqua v2 in nov/dec. it's a fine method for single coils, but I'm not convinced the un-coiled wick section ever feeds into the live coil, at least not fast enough to matter. it's role is primarily one of a sponge.

I've since been securing a piece of japanese cotton down with the extra screw, trim that cotton down to block the channels and then wick the live coil as normal. the extra little bit of wick in the live coil seems to provide a less temperamental vape than a wick that's effectively cut in half. plus, it's much faster to rewick vs. rewick all four channels with one piece of cotton. I keep the screwed down cotton in place until I change flavors.

I tried the split wick with rayon. I think it is a slight improvement. I think I am just going to have to try the dual coil, and see if that helps. Either that, or change the ohms... It is a little better than the Nautilus Mini on this juice, but not as good as a Kayfun. Maybe I should change juices again, before trying the dual coil. I haven't been vaping it this way for long. I tried it once, a while ago, then made an adjustment in the wick. It is better now, but still not where I thought it would be. When I vape this down, I will probably try it with another juice, before going to the dual coil. The jury is still out for me on this.

Give each build 24 hours. Sometimes it takes me that long to know. The coil(s) need to season a bit. I've done some builds that made me say, meh, I don't like it, and then the next day it hit great.

I took one to work with me, and had no dry hits or leakage, and I did lay it down on the car seat on the way to work. I'm using single, spaced coils and I have no complaints. Vaped nearly the entire tank. Even with the airflow half open, I have enough vapor to satisfy, and the flavor is just amazing.

The wick installation with the split rayon wick took longer than anticipated, especially with having to go back and trim those shoulders and view from above to make certain the tank would fit on properly. And, of course, being new to this tank I wasn't certain if I had made the legs in the juice channels too short or long. But I've had great luck with my rayon experience, and so far it hasn't let me down.

I am ecstatic with my investment in the Tobecco Aqua V2.

The rayon wick seems to transport the juice just fine, faster than cotton, I believe. Cotton is more like a sponge, absorbing and holding the juice. I tried to make sure I'd have enough wick to insert into the four juice channels, so I wrapped on a 2.4mm (3/32") drill bit and stuffed the coil tight. With rayon you don't need to worry about choking the coil.

I didn't trim the wick except to taper the ends at the bottom of the channels. Maybe I should have because I had to flatten the wick against the base when going around the posts and the wick ended up like a tall wall of rayon as tall as the post screws. I can chain vape up to 20 watts and still get a moist, flavorful vape. Right now I'm very happy with the Aqua and will stick with this single coil for a while. I'm an old retired guy who likes to stay with what works Now I've got to go look for videos on the Lemo that's "out for delivery" today! So many new toys...This is a great time to be vaping!

I can't say I've ever heard coils need to season a bit. That is very good to know. I know sometimes the wick tastes better after a little while. I found that out yesterday for sure. The juice seemed better after I'd vaped it a while. I changed the coil maybe 2-3 days ago. How long do coils go before you say they are seasoned? I dry burn before changing juices too. I usually like the gunky juices best. I also prefer tobacco flavors, most with NET. I am going to change the wick, but not the coil. Then I am going to put another juice in there, that I know exactly how it tastes in the Kayfun. I might have gotten a little bit of vapor's tongue using the White Lie so much in the Aqua 2.

Yes, wicks, too. Usually my new coils taste better after a day though they will get better yet after a few days. I wash and dry burn them every time I rewick.

Vape tongue definitely isn't helpful in evaluating a build or juice

Argh, the wait for this OTM Aqua v2 is killing me! At least my shipment has made it into the US. Oh well, there has been lots of good reading material in this thread so I feel pretty prepared to get it up and running once it arrives. I think I'll go for the single coil option first.

Well I have Legend in the Aqua2 right now. I put it in there earlier. I think changing the juice, and wick was a good idea. I am still using the split wick method. It is doing very well at this point. It is neck and neck with the Kayfun right now. I have been drinking water like crazy today. I have to change juice flavors more often than most people I think, or I lose flavor fairly fast. I think this was very helpful. I am going to keep vaping it this way for a while. Then I am going to go down in ohms. I know it will be under 1.6...maybe 1.0-1.2 ohms.

When I had clearomizers, I was the same way. I had half a dozen going. That way I kept the flavor up. On top of those, I had the Nautilus Mini. When I switched to rebuildables, I was given a Kayfun 3.1 ES. That opened up a whole new world for me, rather quickly. I have run out of Aspire coils for the small tanks. So I refused to buy more. I think I have one Nautilus Mini coil left. That narrowed down my juice hopping quite a bit. Luckily I was given a Magma, and that helped me too. I was constantly changing flavors with the help of the Magma. Now I have the Aqua2. I plan to use it for my favorites, that I won't be changing as often. The Kayfun will be my tank flavor changer, until I get more gear. I have had so much water today, it is unreal. It did help though. I could never vape the same juice all the time. I wouldn't be able to taste a thing if I did that.

Currently I have 5 KFL clones, 2 Orchid V4 clones, a Fogger 1/2, and now 3 Aqua V2s, plus 2 Magma drippers, a Plume Veil and a Scar for dripping in between the tanks

My one Aqua was 1.3 ohm, and the second came out to 1.1. Both have performed flawlessly. Took that second tank to work tonight and BAM! I am still in love. Much better than my KFL clones. I hope these remain available for a while, since I wouldn't mind buying a few more

Looks like you may have tank cracking juice. Regardless I don't think your tank will last very much longer.

No, but I use the potential crackers in glass or metal tanks. However, I did stock up on replacement ones just in case.

More and more I'm going to the full metal sleeves on my attys.

If anyone wants to try a split wick method on the Aqua 2, I just came across this. This method seems best to me so far, with a single coil.

He is using the first version of Aqua, but it would be the same process. He is using more wick than I am. I might need to try it his way too. I was already using this method, thanks to the photos on here, and advice. But this shows you in video detail, and that would help others, as well as myself.
