I don't see anything wrong with it. Some people may not have the skill, desire, tools or time to make one themselves. Charging a $7 premium for the time and effort is not too much. Just my 2 cents. Now deleting your post is another story. There should be at least an explanation if you have broken an ECF rule.

I think that perhaps asking the OP for permission, or at least crediting him for the design, would have been in better taste.

Low blows IMO. There's even Gummy Bear juice.

Yeah I was searching the net yesterday and there actual scuba tanks out there, (who knew). :)

Under water vaping??? hmmmmm

Well if they contacted the OP and he gave them permission all good, ripping the idea sucks IMO, they could at least give props or pointers to this thread. I am curious why the moderator deleted sierras post pointing back here.

oh well, it doesnt effect me at all, I do have the very minor skills needed to build my own tanks.....just sucks that people do stuff like that.

What he does or doesn't do isn't important.....What is important is a 35 page thread where a lot of people learned how to make their own tank mods and where a half dozen or more versions were created. A lot of people contributed a lot of expertise and inspiration; being part of that is plenty good enough for me.

For those unfamiliar with it, that's class. :thumb:

I know where you are coming from Par, and my feelings are very much the same. As near as I can determine, this was the first bottle that was used with a C-E2 cartomizer ----> http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...zer-technical-discussion-392.html#post1992661

Many of us have been improving the tanks since then, and we haven't finished yet.

Lol, I wish I would have found this thread a day ago! Haven't had time to go through every single page, but I will eventually since I have some leaky Clearos to attend to ;)

I used a 3ml bottle and found the ceramic cup fits nicely into the neck from the bottom to give a "spill-proof" connection - I'm sure it's been done before, but I'm still a newb and haven't been hanging out here very long...

I need to get something better for the bottom connection though - it seeps since I didn't feel like using glue.

Pic: how's that for confidence?
(hastily removed after picture taken due to very slightly seepy batt-side connection :p )

Some of the earlier base fittings will sort of snap into some bottle necks and do not leak. I can't say what the later ones with the "O" rings will do.

Here's the mod I am using at this time.

Is that internally lighted? I thought of doing that with a small LED, but wasn't sure how it would hold up being exposed to fluid (other than lead solder, is this an issue?), or if the extra draw would affect anything in a noticeable way? Either way, it looks awesome!

The one I posted before actually leaks where the base part joins to the body - where the base part joins the base of the clearo is still bone dry. But alas, the "syringe-mod-bug" has bitten me hard! The bottle is going on the back-burner after I vape it dry, lol!

My first syringe-mod is a success! Hmmm, looks similar... (Thanks to everyone here for all of the awesome info!!!)
Coincidentally, the removable nipple from a 20mL bottle fits snugly into the syringe and the bottom of it fits perfectly around the ceramic part of the clearo - making it fairly leak resistant :2cool:

EDIT: just wanted to point out the second image is using the clearo-tube as a mouthpiece instead of the metal tube I was using in the first image - still not sure which I like better, lol...

Nice looking mod, Marb. As long as all of us experiment with C-E2's, there's no telling what the eventual outcome will be.

In answer to your questions. Yes, mine is internally lit with a 3.2 volt LED, connected in parallel with the coil using lead free solder. Therefore, it robs a small amount of power from the coil. Less power to the coil is the primary reason the LED is used. Without it, my mods consume more juice than my desired daily use.

The only thing used from a C-E2 is a 3 ohm coil and wick. Everything else is fabricated from scratch. The air intake tube has a larger inside diameter and requires a larger base fitting. The cup for the coil is also larger. The removable mouthpiece fits over the rim of the cup and seals the tank, so refills are quick and easy. The clear parts are machined from a solid cast acrylic rod.

Damn I wish I were more talented in the area of putting things together. I failed lincoln logs 101. Couldn't even build a damn toy house.

If anyone is quietly selling these at a reasonable price to those of us who do not possess the ability to make them ourselves, please PM me with details, I would really like to try something that doesn't leak for a change. I use a 5v box.

Great info, OP and everyone else who have contributed. So sorry people suck.

Anyone know what causes mist to form within the tank and if it causes any problems? My first couple of these went well, but recently I have notices mist forming with almost every pull.

You do not have a good seal on the ceramic cup. The vapor inside the tank will condense and become part of your juice. It may not dilute it enough to hurt anything, but in extreme cases it might.
