Bruce at CloudsOfVapor just got some dual coil attys not too long ago that everyone seems to rave about, even people who traditionally prefer cartos over attys. I don't think I've seen anyone mention using one in a UFS though. I've got one of these attys ordered, and I intend to try it in a UFS if I can score one when they become available.

I've also been curious to know whether a hybrid 510 atty intended for bottom feeding would be beneficial in a UFS.

Hi Imeo,
I'm using SS Joye 510 LR 1.5 at 3.7V and it's a great vape!!!! Just make sure they aren't coated with laquer. This will dissolve u. The UFS and make things taste horrible. Razorblade test should show you if they are coated. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1318270585.207612.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1318270585.207612.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1318270645.858835.jpg

I got a 10 pack of non-coated Joye 510 LRs from VaporKings and I've been direct dripping with them. I love them for direct drip, and I'm glad to know they work well in the UFS.

The new Ikenvape xLR 510s are my current favorite. Great TH, flavor and feed performance. I've cleaned my UFS 3 times with this new atty, and upon inspection after a cleaning with just some water the coil and wick inside still look brand new. I don't know how that's possible, given every atty I have ever owned has a discolored wick after my first UFS/Atty cleaning.

In all honesty, it's not enough anymore to just have great TH and flavor, for a UFS the atties need to be weighed on how well they perform within a UFS (aka, how they feed). It's highly dependent on your juice, but for the thicker juices I used, the IKV's are amazingly good. My favorite prior to this was the HH. 357 from Cisco, and before that the Cisco LR 510.

My only issue with the HH .357 (aside from the price) is the fact that you're not supposed to EVER blow into the atty as it can ruin the "pump" inside. For me, that's a very common occurrence. If I over feed my atty I blow the juice in the atty into the collector tank and vape it back up from there over time. The Cisco LR 510s have great throat hit, and good flavor, but they wear quicker than my IKVs.

I never much cared for the Joyes, they didn't have the same taste, TH or longevity I've come to expect with Cisco and IKV atties.

Glad I stocked up before Isaac had his website issues.

I would love to hear how these perform. I plan on getting some the next time I place an order with Bruce.

I'm curious about the DCAs too.....

I rank the ones I have tried as follows:
1. IKV 1.5
2. HH357
3. Joye LR1.5

10. Rest!!! I had some SLBs and GH1s, they weren't good......:(

Hi Rip,

How long do the ikes last! How's the price compared to the joyes from VK?

Thanks,

Chris

I tried the dual atty from cov wasnt any better than the hh357, except for the price. The Joye standard resistance 2.2 blows them both away at 6 volts. I only vape at at 6 and 7.4, so I really know nothing about LR addys. Of course now I'm a hardcore iatty man and my UFS's are just paperweights for the time being. I did buy a GG Stealth and some cisco LR addys to give the UFS that combo shot at being Biggie Small, I hope it does well.

I have used Joye LR510 (great when I get a good one), EM LR510 (not so good - hard to get them to feed right IMO), Bauway LR10, and DSE LR901 w/ an adapter. I liked the Joye best and the 901 (all the reason I keep my AVS). The Joye seems to be easier to get setup consistently between atos. Everything is juice dependent though also, so with a relatively thin PG the LR510, 1/4 turn on air and a 1/8-1/4 on liquid control and usually good. Harder to get it just right with PG/VG or 100% VG mix.

For what it's worth, the coating is not an issue if you are willing to take a few minutes before first use. My personal preference is the Ikenvapes 901's and lately they have only been available in black. No worries.

I take a medium to fine grit sand paper and in about 3-4 minutes, I have a bare metal exterior with no issues. I used to look only for bare metal but once I found how easily the coated ones are to take to bare metal, I shop based on performance or recomendations. Finish is no longer a worry when ordering or trying a new atty whether 510, 901 or whatever. ;)
