Excuse me while I have a panic attack.

Typically, this shipping time wouldn't concern me, but Canada Post is supposed to go on strike on July 2nd. I must pray, maybe even offer a sacrifice, to the vape mail gods.

Crossing fingers for you, @SoftSell

oh wow.......hope it gets to you sooner!! Wow, can't imagine the mail going on strike. I could be wrong, but I don't think they're allowed to do that here. Hope they aren't anyhow lol

<deep breath> Anyhoo, my Rat Black is in my clammy little mitts. It's HERE

I guess this is the 2nd time in 3ish years, but I must of just missed it last time when I started vaping.
My BilletBridge Racing is sitting in my mailbox though, so that's exciting. Shipped with DHL from Greece last Wednesday to Western Canada, I figured the BB would of arrived first.
Going to be a long week.

Rat Black
So, I’ve kept away from the thread, because my frustration with the postal services and customs was driving me nutz. I mean, how @#$% hard is it to do this…..:-x?

:banana::banana::banana::rickroll::rickroll::rickroll:

I’ve loaded it up with an unflavored 60/40 pg/vg @ 6mg nic mix, on a 2.2 (reading 2.1 in the DNA) Boge carto. I slapped a black drip tip (aluminum, i think) that I got from Pink Mule—fits perfectly, no hassle.

For power I’m running a LG HG2 18650, so I’m fully loaded and ready for bear.

So, the formalities are out of the way. What do I think?

Build quality & ergonomics: Man, DD just hit that one out of the park with this concept. This is just beautiful, it really is. The attention to detail is astonishing, down to the level where the polarity of the magnets are arranged so that you just can’t put the doors in wrong. I’ve been taking it out of the pocket just to fondle the darn thing. The convex curvature of the G10 scallops make the device seem smaller than it is, even though it adds depth, while at the same time makes it grippier.

And the G10, oh my. All my favorite knives use G10, and they’re well-nigh indestructible. I will never have anything else. Inspired choice DD!

I’ve never had a DNA-40 device, but it seems to do what’s needed. We’ll see when I run the battery down, but given the reviews I’ve read/seen elsewhere, I don’t expect anything negative.

So, are there any negatives? Well, like others have said, I just don’t like the sliding glass on the tank. I was scared spitless in case I broke the glass (like others have done), so I was extra careful. I don’t think I’ll ever be comfortable using that method, so I’ll probably use the tried and true “insert slapper, press carto down, fill tank, push carto back up” method. We’ll see.

Other than that I have nothing. Oh year, I forgot. The position of the firing button. I’m used to the Reo way of doing things (with the firing button on top), as well as a side mounted button (on the narrow side), so I was a bit skeptical about the position. I needn’t have worried. With the right hand I use the thumb, and with the left my index finger. It came naturally and after five minutes I don’t think about it at all.

Just in case I haven’t made it clear: I LOVE THIS DEVICE :hubba:

Many, many, many thanks, DD, for creating something so perfectly utilitarian that it’s beautiful. You’ve cut all the cruft away in a rinse, lather, repeat cycle, so that all that’s left is pure form out of function.

Kudos

Here I enlarged them for you. If I was out of line I'm sorry. My favorite one and someday mine.

@aarhus........... WOW!

I've read reviews and initial impressions of all the B Boxes over the years, but somehow yours........ welp, just WOW! I was completely living that, with your every written word.

MARVELOUS presentation of your experience, and quoted for truth.

DD of BB has created yet another masterpiece. I do believe that's what he has been inspired to do....... create sensational art. IMPRESSIVE.

And I loved the way you captured the essence of it all.

Congrats, and enjoy!!!!!

No prob, but I think that strips the link to the originals.

Yeah, it's really stealthy and dignified. I'm extremely pleased with it.

Aww, shucks , thanks :)

Heh, it's easy to wax poetic when the subject is sublime, neh?

And I've got proof: My son (who's 1 year old) was sitting on my lap at the table. He had treats (healthy, of course), toys, and his favorite book about dinosaurs. What does he want? My BB, more than a yard away. I locked it and let him hold it. Baaaaad move. He went into instant "Myyyy preciousssss" mode, and when I finally took it away, he hollered so loud that my wife came flying down the stairs fearing the worst.

He has no concept of art, but has an innate sense of quality.

The BB would never have been this great if DD hadn't made it for himself first. No marketing department, no initial team who invested in a project with a required ROI. Just a guy who wanted something better than what he saw, and had the skillz to do something about it...... And then decided to share it with the rest of us.

And for that, I'm truly grateful.

Just got this hybrid tip in the mail by JMK. It doesn't have an oring on the underside like the standard BB ring does... any thoughts on that?

At first I was a bit concerned but after unscrewing the ring and accidentally pulling out the Uno that had stuck into it, thought differently about it. I don't see it leaking at the point of connection but time will tell I suppose.

I was worried about mine as well, because I really like the idea of the O-ring on the brass nipple.
But my JMK tip works perfectly!

Ah, nice. Looks good.

The only thing with them (and I guess any hybrid tip) is making sure they're screwed down just right. Seems like a little too much and it doesn't fire.

Hmmm...I haven't encountered that...but I can see the potential for that issue.

That's what I use and I love them.

I was actually very surprised at how well the humble BVC (which I've ignored since its inception) performs!
I always opted for the Nautilus coils, because of my Kabuki.
With the Kabuki, Zen (extremely reliable source of info/knowledge) had done very thorough testing on all of the pop-in coils on the market.

What he found was that the Nautilus coil performed best across the board, aka on average, and so he built Kabuki around it.

Enter my first Billet Box (Rev-3a, 2014), and I just HAD to have a Nautilus Bridge.

Then, my 2nd BBox arrives a week later, with a BVC Bridge. I was hesitant to use it, but I'm glad I did!
