I've been trying for 40-plus years, Krisma. Don't bother. A system based on the number 10 is WAY too complicated for us. We prefer to think in things like, "5,280 feet equals one mile."
Ours is MUCH simpler, don't you think?
Our problem is that we teach everything based on the concepts of "Conversion." It's why we failed Metric, and why many are challenged to pickup other languages. Conversions are useless but our educational system hasn't grasped that FACT yet. We still think it's the only way to teach stuff.
Who CARES how many liters are in a gallon? IT'S ... IRRELEVANT!!!!
Soapbox, down.

I rather like the combo of the 10's and the 12's.
Abacus, on. Katmath, complete.
Here in the UK we are pretty much mixed up, we are supposed to have the metric system, but,
We think in Fahrenheit in the summer and centigrade in the winter.
We are supposed to use the metric system for length and weight but most of us still use yards and inches, stones and pounds.
And our road system still uses miles per hour but the highway code thinks in metres!!.
Add to that - the pubs still use pints as a measure and not metric.
Maybe in a few years when us old un's' are gone (we grew up in the imperial age) - the metric system will prevail.
"Pretty" mixed up?? Hey Kycap, can you repeat all that in rhyming slang? C'mon, jus fer the fun o' it?
