I was actually very surprised at how well the humble BVC (which I've ignored since its inception) performs!
I always opted for the nautilus coils, because of my Kabuki.
With the Kabuki, Zen (extremely reliable source of info/knowledge) had done very thorough testing on all of the pop-in coils on the market.

What he found was that the Nautilus coil performed best across the board, aka on average, and so he built Kabuki around it.

Enter my first Billet Box (Rev-3a, 2014), and I just HAD to have a Nautilus Bridge.

Then, my 2nd BBox arrives a week later, with a BVC Bridge. I was hesitant to use it, but I'm glad I did!
I use the BVC coils that are configured to work in the Bridge but I think they're just nautilus BVC coils with a housing to fit the bridge. I could be wrong.
All my other devices except the sub ohm ones I use nautilus coils in. I use the BVC coils in the tanks that were for the regular nautilus coils too.

So, am I still in love with this thing?

In a word, yes. I'm constantly amazed by the little things, such as the fact that the firing button swivels. I couldn't see the point, until I changed positions and my 'firing finger' held steady.

While I haven't completely come around wrt the glass window and refilling, I've gradually come to accept that the glass won't shatter when I push it. But I still get that queasy feeling (I have no sparezzzz--carefullllll ) when I'm doing a refill.

And I've been experimenting with cartos. It seems like the sweet spot for me is 2.0 Boges @ 8W. My LG HG2's last me a full working day, so I haven't used any spares. During a working day I'm vaping about 5-5.5ml, so I'm burning it fast.

Other comments, well one of our apprentices was filling his cracked kanger subtank when he happened to look at my gear. His eyes boggled and had to fondle (not vape! no, no, no) it. And that gear-lust gleam lit in his eyes, only dimmed a bit when he heard the price. I told him to go to DD's FB page to get details on Saturdays sales, so, who knows, if he's lucky he might join the crowd.

<wait 1, must vape>Aaaahhh. I can't remember when I last felt this satisfied with a device.

Anyway, back to the scheduled broadcast...

Hi gang - hope you all have been well the last few days! I have been buried with work stuffz and have been MIA...missed the thread and am catching up!

Anyway, for those of you who do a fair amount of airline travel, how do you fly with your BB?

I have found that I have to empty my Boro completely, or it will leak due to pressure while up in the air. Has anyone found a way around this? Call me silly, but I don't like landing with an empty tank!

Thanks so much!

When my wife and I flew to Paris last month, I followed your advice and made sure that I vaped off the entire tank prior to checking in at JFK, to ensure that it doesn't leak in flight. While in Paris, one of the places we visited was Versailles, which required a quick ride on a commuter train. During the ride, there was a section where the train went underground. I felt a distinct pop in my ears, which is a telltale sign of pressure change. When we arrived at Versailles, I pulled out my 3.a and immediately noticed some light leakage coming from the air holes. Fortunately, I always carry a bottle of e-liquid with me whenever I am out and about for lengthy periods of time!

Have you by any chance put a tape tab on the glass? I found that really helped. I just used packing tape, left it long at the end of the glass, and folded it under so it stuck to itself and made a tab I could grab to pull the glass down.

Only way i can think of is using Sophia and close LC while in the air :)
Welcome Fyla!!

Welcome Fyla!!

Hi Debadoo - can you show us a photo? I am very interested in where you position the tape!

I have also found that laying a rubber band down on the glass before sliding down really helps. It creates enough friction/grip to get the glass to slid rather easily.

BB Tape Tab.jpg

Kh, just put the tape on the glass......let it extend down where the glass tab is. Turn some under so that it sticks to itself, and makes a tab that you can pull on to slide the glass down

Amazingly, my boros have all been sliding down quite easily for me (given how much I fought using them for so many years).

They're OK, but I still prefer the delrins (by a long shot too).
I really liked the look of the old style, especially the opaque delrin tank, with the ball valve. Were they particularly prone to failure, or was there another reason that design was discontinued?

My guess is options.. But.. I love the delrin and hate the boro's..

With the delrin you were limited to what would fit in the tank holes. Carto's, Billet Bridge, Uno, Siluro ect..

With the boro, you can slap just about anything in there. Heck the Kangaroo won't even work anymore in a delrin UNLESS you have the old v1 small rounds Kanger coils.. Kanger is not making them anymore and the new Kangers will not fit in a delrin because they are to fat...

So my guess as to the reason for the change was options..

You can use those oversize coil heads in the old delrin tanks but it's painful. Unscrew the face plate, install coil and bridge and re screw. Not the most user friendly but can do.

Do not loose tiny screws
