Ok, got my Darwin and gotta say....
I am impressed and like everyone states, it is much smaller than it appears in the picture (that's what she said)
But seriously, I will admit when I first saw the Darwin back in January I wasn't really interested and just thought it wasn't for me based on how it looked as well as the battery piece but after going through many mods I figured I would give it a try and I am glad I did.
Below are my first impressions:
I like the feel and look of it, as others say it kinda grows on ya. It's probably the techie geeky nerd coming out of me as I love electronic gadgets.
It's what I call KISS or Keep It Simple Stupid which works for me, move the atty arm, dial in the watts you want, push the button and commence vape. It's so easy, even a Caveman can do it, sorry for the Geico pun.
I like the weight, it does feel sturdy and rugged and does feel like I can hammer things with it LOL.
The display is great and I do like constantly monitoring my settings.
I am using just a regular 510 battery extender as I didn't want to take a chance with the soft brass connection and do hope that it isn't supposed to screw all the way down as mine doesn't.
USB option is perfect since it's like 2 devices in one if you want it to me, pass-thru wise.
Battery charge time is very minimal and figure I will just put it on the charger every night like I do with my other gadgets (Ipod, cell phone, blue tooth headset, etc.) told ya I was geeky
On the flip side, my other very minor feedback\suggestions\concerns, which trust me I am not complaining or bashing, but felt like mentioning are as follow:
The dial is just a little too sensitive, albeit I never had the option to dial the power in such small increments but I do notice if you want to play around with the watts around the midway point, 8.4, you really have a hard time trying to get the settings close to that like 8.3, 8.5, 8.6 and 8.7 and keep it there as when I would get it there and push the button it would adjust to the midway point. Again minor thing and it's probably my OCD that is kicking in since now I have the option of having sooo many settings. Maybe make it where the dial has a little more resistance or time in between increments when dialing or it could possibly click or something for each increment or even have two small buttons for dialing up and down?
The latest version seems to be an upgrade of some sorts where the system now self-checks every 3 seconds. I appreciate any and all upgrades as making devices better is always positive but the screen flickers each time this occurs, so not really a bad thing but it can be kinda annoying if it's within your line of sight and seeing it constantly go off, but easy solution is to just turn it over or turn it off I guess.
The last thing really isn't a concern now but more of a what if.... This market seems to be changing ever soo rapidly and I can do nothing but give major kudos to Drew and his crew for the amazing service and fast shipping as well as the Evolv company for coming out with this remarkable device but what if something happens or what if they (mainly Evolv) decides to just not continue to pursue the Ecig market. Things happen personally and professionally and can change all the time and again I know this could happen with anything but you have to wonder what would happen if Evolv just decided to move on to other ventures, what would those that are not mechanically inclined or able do when and if the battery dies? This was one of the main reasons I got this as with all warranties you get that warm fuzzy feeling that everything will be ok if something happens.
As you can see the last section contains very minor things and I was just trying to think of anything I would possibly change or upgrade in future devices. None of these things really hinder or make me self-guess my decision as I am enjoying this work of art as I type this up.
I want to thank again Drew and the crew at Nhaler for exceptional service (ordered Fri night and got it on Monday, amazing) and prompt assistance in the past to any an all questions I've had, as well as to the group at Evolv for the great device and from what I've read so far the exceptional fast warranty service for those that have had issues.
I am happy to be an "official" Darwinian and hope the info above isn't taken the wrong way but figured I saw others put their thoughts and I would too. I have tried a decent amount of popular mods out there and the technology and innovation that went into making this device does rank it up at the top especially with what it can do or what it "consistently" does, over and over again.

Vape On
