Did you try raising the battery post? That is usually the problem when mine do that. I use a knife and gently pry up a little on each side. It doesn't need to be raised much. Stick it back on the charger and see if it will charge. If not it is probably gone bad.

EDIT:: That seemed to work at least for now. How is that constructed? Is it attached to the visible post and battery with a thin wire or is everything soldered together or how does that work?

Good I'm glad it worked. It seems just about all the ego type batteries will occasionally have that problem. Sometimes different cartos will have longer posts and it pushes them down so they won't make contact. I've had that problem with ego, go-go and echo batteries once in a while. Some I have to do it quite often.
Yes there is a small wire connected to the post and most are long enough so they can be pried all the way out but I wouldn't pry it anymore than necessary.

Hi Echo Owners!
It's been a while since I posted but wanted to share some feedback with you all from an Echo Noob. You guys, (thank you) ID'ed my Echo 808 Chrome Auto and I've been using it alongside of my Riva 510 SE ever since. I must say I was skeptical of auto batteries but my Echo has won me over. I cut my vaping teeth on my 510. I notice, however, that the 808 has much longer battery life. I have read many of the posts here and I got two 1st generation clearomizers; one for my 510 and one for my 808. My 510 clearomizer died over a week ago. I am currently using the 808 clearomizer I bought to enjoy a vape.
For what it's worth I've got to say I understand both camps well, that is, 510 vs 808, but I also must say I have been surprised -pleasantly- by the quality, durability, and ease of use of my Echo 808. Remember: my vaper mentor GAVE me my 808 with 2 cartos, a charger, and several batteries; what a lucky break for me.

yeah....searching for something similar in 510, I have come to realize why the 510 path always seems to end in Variable voltage, button pushing mods. It's really the only way to enjoy a good percentage of whats available in 510.
The echo and hardware is just simple and a dream to use. Most of the 808 stuff is great in 3.7v and extremely pocket friendly. I still occasionally use my 808 slims on short trips.

It's a great mystery of life and more than just threading.

Hey guys just wanted to say another thanks for all the help and advice i got from this group, I have been busy setting up a few friends and family with ecigs who are very reluctant to ask questions on the forum and it is a LOT of work lol. I forgot how steep the learning curve can be when you are new to it all! Just yesterday my Dad called me saying his battery was broken. I got him a replacement locally drove it up to him only to find out that the battery was fine but his clearo was leaking all over the place. I asked him to show me how he filled it and he ripped the top right off! lol now he has two batteries and another lesson on unscrewing under his belt.

Meanwhile, how are the 808 clearos doing these days? Much leaking? I've stayed away from them on echos but after trying them on ego passthrus for awhile I think im ready to put em back on an auto.

My Echo clearos have been working good and I haven't had any leakage damage to my batteries yet.

My 808 Echos are doing fine as well. I'm liking the cotton wicks and coils I make for them. While I thought at first that with cotton they were juice hogs, but it seems my overall juice consumption is down a little. If I were to think of a possible improvement, it would be that wicks and coils could be changed with out disassembling the body. Overall, good vapor, good flavor and they hold a nice amount of juice...not so much that I think, 'Oh, gee...I'm stuck with this load for the next 12 hours.' I've experienced no leakage. It seems I noticed on body had developed some hairline cracks around the base, but still no leakage noted.

I'm with Cool Breeze on the cotton. They do seem to hog juice at first but I think it's just because they are so absorbent. Over time I seem to use less juice and have to refill less. And cotton allows you to string it through a coil rather than having to tear everything apart. There you go, SLEL. A new learning curve for ya.

The ce4s have all improved so they don't leak at all now. I'm not the biggest fan, mainly due to the airflow but they aren't nearly as bad as they were when they first came out.

I'm pleased to learn that my perception may not be off the mark. My supposition regarding less juice useage is in no way qualified by any records or measurements.

I'm really enjoying the ease of the clearos. No leakage (except when I don't screw the top on all the way) and the refilling is amazingly easy compared to cartos. I have three clearos I bought a month or so ago and I haven't had to clean them, just refill a couple times a day (since they're not as big as an Echo carto). I have on occasion had to wiggle the plastic stopper back up inside, but all in all, so trouble-free. Really pleased.

If you really want a thing of beauty, a ce2 rewicked with cotton and a ce4 shell holds 2.5 mls of juice. There is a lot of good info on natural fiber wicks on this thread. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/284030-wick-materials-safe-vs-dangerous.html I'm not sold on whether we are inhaling silica dust but cotton does make for a better wick and doesn't get hot like silica so you virtually eliminate coil gunking at normal resistance. (2.4 ohms and up)

Maybe clearos are not the "be all and end all" solution after all. For me that is. I put clear nicjuice in a clearomizer and within 24 hours that clear juice has turned very dark. After another day it begins to get not only darker but also syrupy (thick). As a test I made up a solution of PG, VG, Sweet Strawberry and Custard *no nic*. I put it in a totally new clearo and used it as usual and it is still crystal clear. Conclusion: I'm throwing out perfectly made DIY ejuice because the nicotine component is doing its thing. Because of this phenomena I have to do a lot more soaking in vodka and a lot more dry-burning than I should have to do. Ejuice in amber bottles will stay clear for a loooooooong time when stored correctly. So does some forward-thinking manufacturer of clearomizers need to put UV filter material in their plastic clearomizers? I know body heat has a lot to do with the nic turning dark also but I've not pondered on that long enough to have an epiphany yet.

The juice turns just as dark in filled metal cartos too, you just can't see it, out of sight out of mind I guess.
