I just signed the petion... :) Since I found out about vaping 3 months ago, this has been a life saver for me! People just dont understand what it's like to try everything that is legal to try and nothing works. When you have anxiety trying to quit is a nightmare... I always started having major attacks each time I tried quitting... As of today I am 23 days, 7 hours analog free for the first time in 28 years! No aniexty attacks, my Dr is elated, I haven't had a asthema attack yet and my lungs are actually clearing up! I can't say enough about how learning about vaping has helped me and I hope for once the government and the FDA doesnt screw this up for a lot of people like me.

there is a level of professionalism and control now within many parts of the industry that makes those kind of comments seem pretentious, unbecoming, and seriously out-dated.

I quite agree. And it's been a long, hard road getting there. Great blog. I don't know if things will play out just the way you foresee, but I too think that vaping will be very hard to stamp out when the demand is so great. But it's got a way to go to become mainstream. I was sitting in the park today reading and hitting my vape now and then...a couple with kids walked by and gave me a hard look. It took me a few moments to realize they probably thought my eGo was some kind of drug paraphernalia. Illegal paraphernalia, that is.

Where I live, if you're in a bar or club where everyone is over 21, you have to go outside with the analog smokers to vape. If you have big mod you might even be kicked out as the clueless bouncer thinks it's a some kind of drug paraphernalia or even a tazer. This has actually happened. They have no idea what it is, but they are so afraid of being shut down they will kick you out. There isn't even a law or regulation yet.

I'm not against the government regulating some things, the bath salt problem got way out of hand. However, most kinds of government prohibition backfires. Unlike many very weird things people have used to kill braincells, vaping has not been proven to hurt the user, nor is not going to cause the user to hurt other people. I don't see how vaping could be made illegal while cigarettes are legal, even if you can't smoke them in public places, only in outdoor places filled with other smokers. There's a bunch of hookah bars in my city, who is making sure those things are even cleaned? Big tobacco isn't making anything off those. These kinds of inconsistencies bother me as much as seat-belt laws vs. helmet-less motorcycle riders. It's still legal to text while driving in my state.

I understand the fear of losing this fantastic alternative to smoking cigarettes, vaping is obviously better. The U.S. government has been known to make things illegal purely because of lobbyists. If vaping is banned in any way, it may require a court case that goes all the way to the top to bring it back. Maybe states rights will be an answer. Considering that cigarettes are still legal to buy everywhere even with second hand smoke being proven to be harmful, cracking down on vaping is going to be a tough pill for the public to swallow. There will be some outrage, and I would assume a few states would keep it legal, considering what long standing laws have been changed in a few states in the last elections.

Nice blog, OP. I still have hope, too.

Like many others have stated, I don't believe they will ban vaping all together. I think it will come down to nicotine control. Vendors will still be able to sell accessories and still make juice, but they will have to do it with 0 nicotine content. The nicotine e juice will probably be regulated and overly taxed and only legally made by tobacco companies, because government people not in the know think it's somehow tobacco related. And it will probably be disgusting, compared to what is out there currently.

Big or small, there are some sort of changes coming, and it's just a matter of time. I've been working towards being a custom juice vendor, and I'm totally expecting them to not let me use nicotine sooner than later. Hopefully, it will just be regulations on precise nicotine content, and not a complete ban of everything for vendors, but more than likely it will be not allowing unregulated, or possibly even regulated nicotine to be sold by the general public. If it comes to that, then I will just somehow incorporate nicotine inhalers as mouth pieces or drip tips. It would be great if they just left us alone, but that's not going to happen, there's too much money in it now for them to ignore it any longer, or fly under their radar.

And I think we all should stop referring to them as "e-cigarettes", because that immediately has connotations attached to it. We are not holding cigarettes, and we are not smoking. I believe just because there is an "E" in front of the word doesn't mean it's helping the cause. All people that are ignorant to the facts, will only hear "cigarette" and every feeling or opinion they have with cigarettes is automatically applied to PV devices and the people that use them. People fear what they know nothing about, and they love to hate it.
