You can have a medical degree and still be like, lacking common sense.
Medical professionals are as susceptible to propaganda as anyone else. NO OFFENSE med people but I was gonna BE one and only the fact that I had a wee one and NO ability (as a bipolar person) to get through residency stopped me.
I'm a good social worker but a better doctor (at least in my chosen fields of specialty) than many doctors, to be honest. But I moderated a couple psych sites one of which involved (as a mod) having to have two citations for any answer you gave and like NCBI type citations.
Docs look at me all sideways when I start going on about it. LOL, I think I scare some of them.

But, a field of study is still just and only that. There are tons of times with my pdoc where I tell him stuff and he has to look it up to believe me.
Also, when mine RETIRES? OMG the ONLY way to get a pdoc to listen to you is to let them break you... and then in my case, listen to me say, non stop 24-7. "I told you so. You didn't listen. Look at me now. This is no fun for me. I'm planning to call you at 2 am tonight, just to let you know how I am doing."
One doc broke me so badly he offered me another doc.
He did not get off the hook so easily. NOPE. I mean it sort of sucked for me, he put me on Depakote for a year (I had a judge's court ordered treatment doc, lucky me.) My doc made sure I did not get off Depakote for a year (I gained like 79 lbs that year) but afterwards it was worth it...
