All of your pics are amazing! I notice my TFA flavors change colors too, some when I receive them before anything is added... I like the way you work
Thank you for your posts, I'm going back to read them again and stare at the juice safe!
U know what. Now that u guys are saying the color change thing. I jus tripped that uh few of my TFA flavors do seem darker. As some maintained that clear look. Others I received color was darker upon arrival. I never tripped off that b4. Pretty kool.

Nice reagent bottles I looked them up. Wish I had space for some. Maybe someday when I figure out what kind and where to put my mixing station.
Ya know, I didn't like mixing when I started but I'm more fond of it now after almost a year. I mix 90 ml's almost every time I mix now. I don't want to buy anything from TFA in less than 4 oz bottles. I'm building my flavor stash.
I was having a discussion with my sister yesterday about taste. We started smoking when We were 15 and I'm wondering since we've been smoking for 30 years how well do we know what flavors taste like? Do we taste the undertones in the juices? I know when I started vaping I didn't taste the nicotine 18 mg but after a few months the 18mg juices started to taste like I added pepper, I just figured it was my taste buds telling me something's not right... I'm vaping 6mg now and I'm not looking to lower my mg's unless I taste the pepper...

This recipe already adds up to 30%.

So in this case your stored base would be just these flavoring with no added PG, correct?
That's Correct

And to make, say, 10 ml @ 6mg (30/70), it would be 3 mls of this base, .6ml of nic in a VG base and 6.4 ml of VG?
Exactly

Lastly, (for now). What if you have a complex recipe where you have, 12 flavors, and the percentages add up to over 30? Or does that never happen?
I have one recipe that uses 31% flavoring. In that case, I add 69% VG/VG Nic. You've got it my friend

Aye Bill. Just curious. What's ur take on Almond Amaretto?

I haven't used it yet, but I have worked out a recipe. When I make it and adjust flavoring to taste, I'll let you know. Love both flavors. Together? Many, many possibilities. I will definitely incorporate it into a desert recipe.

Takes a while, or it did me. Couldn't make anything decent for 6 months, and almost gave up, but I had too great an investment, and stuck with it. Glad I did now.

I know what you mean about the taste thing. I just flavor to my taste and it seems like everyone else likes it, which is surprising considering how sweet I like my juices. Vape shops flip over my juices, so I know it's decent. Certainly some undertones cannot be tasted individually, particularly with very complex mixes, but they do contribute to flavor, so I always use undertones....and, it's your personal signature on YOUR juice, right?

I wanted to cut down my nic, but didn't think I would. I started at 36 mg/ml and now vape at 6 mg/ml. As my gear improved, I couldn't take the higher nics, so it was a natural easy drop down, which surprised me. I could probably drop down to 0 anytime I want, but I dont' want to. I like the "Pep in the step" that nicotine provides. Two cents!

I just started diy'ing recently... like a few weeks ago. I haven't really perfected much of anything but had a few questions...

How do you dispose of nicotine (36mg PG)? I've been thinking that I need a mix because I've found that I like my percentages higher in vg than the 50/50 I was planning on abd it makes done of my recipes difficult.

I'll probably end up just mixing my pg/vg but what is the standard safe practice for disposing of nic liquid?

I wouldn't trash your nic quite yet, you might want it for a future mix, and your taste can change.

If I had some nicotine that I wasn't planning on using, which is perhaps not what you are asking about, I would sell it to friends who also DIY. If I wanted to just dump it, I suppose I would pour it down the drain with running water and wash out the containers with soap and water. I'm not sure why you would pour it out though. Nicotine is only a small percentage of the overall mix, so even at 50% you can make a wide variety of PG/VG ratios. Maybe you should elaborate about what you want to mix, then maybe we can help you with that. Good luck.

I won't pour it out, I will end up just buying additional nic in vg base to mix in (since wizard labs only offered in pg OR vg). since all of my flavorings and additives are pg-based, and I have a pretty low concentration of nic liquid, I was having a hard time getting to 30/70 pg/vg for a few recipes. I will have to get a higher nic pg base or get some nic in vg (or a mix) to get those right.

I just simply wanted to know if there was a proper way of disposing of nic solution.

Thanks for your help!

I understand. All my juices are made 30/70 and I have to use VG nic at 100%. However, since my nicotine level is only 6 mg/ml now, I can make any mix 30/70 with up to 24% flavoring which accounts for about 40% of them with 50/50 PG/VG nic. So, as you surmised, the solution is to buy more VG nic and reformulate your nic mix PG/VG ratio, which you can do up to about 29% PG flavoring. I have never disposed of nic myself, and if you have extra, I suppose I can find a way to use it. :D

Yes, a good start, as another poster mentioned. I have thought many times that I had all the flavors that I would ever need. First of all, I needed the ones I didn't have quite frequently, and, secondly, TFA keeps making new flavors, which I do find I need for the "latest juice crazes," like Red Vines, and cereals and candy bar mixes. It never ends I don't even make a tobacco mix any more. I carry my flavors in 4 ml containers and about a dozen in the 16 oz containers. I have about 80 now, not counting another maybe 40 in the 1 oz bottles. Glassware has grown as fast as the flavors too. I now take up a full bar cabinet and a full four foot wall cabinet. Thank God the wife vapes, or I'd be in trouble!

Anyway, truly a great start. Let us know if you need recipes, tips, etc. It takes a while, so single flavors are a good way to start to find the sweet spot. The problem with single flavors is that they rarely get you where you want to go, which means mixed flavors, and then, that can get tricky. So, let us know if we can help and good luck to you!

Awesome! Thanks for the reply and suggestions! I have been dabbling a little bit but like you said I wanted more more more!. My first order I came up with a few recipes I liked but I felt limited.
Here was my first order
Bubblegum Flavor (TFA)
Kiwi Double Flavor (TFA)
Watermelon Flavor Concentrate (TFA)
Sweetener Flavor Concentrate (TFA)
Strawberry Ripe Flavor Concentrate (TFA)
Sour - Flavor Concentrate (TFA)
Pomegranate Flavor Concentrate (TFA)
Marshmallow Flavor (TFA)
Pineapple Flavor (TFA)
Bacon Flavor Concentrate (TFA)
Brown Sugar Extra Flavor (TFA)
Cinnamon Danish Flavor (TFA)
Peanut Butter Flavor (TFA)
You will notice I reordered some because I really enjoyed them in my recipes. Question 1: have you ever gotten bacon to taste good in anything? It smells just plain vile from the bottle.

As far as my fav recipe so far
"To the moon"
8% Pomegranate
3% Kiwi
2% Pineapple
2% sweet
To me it taste very much like space jam andromeda however it has no blueberry in it. Thinking ill add just a dash on my next try and see where that takes it.

That vanilla bean gelato is great at 5% by itself. If you do a quick hot water steep it gets better, and every day after that,it just keeps on tasting creamier.Cinnamon danish is also good by itself and great in recipes,i make it at 10% as a standalone, but it needs some steep time,or a few hours in the crock pot.
