Hi all! So I finally got the following in today:

1.5L VT 100mg nic
1L VG
1L PG
15 different TFA flavors.
30min UC

eab8930fd08bce77b8361aae6e908e83.jpg

I've never ever done DIY before, and today's gonna be my first couple of attempts.

I'm thinking it makes sense to start off with a few single flavor juices in 10mls, such as

1) green apple
2) grape
3) double ry4

I know different brands of flavorings do better at different percentages, and I was wondering if 10% seems about right for the above 3?

You gotta just wade on in. Just keep the mixes in the smaller quantity category, say 3 - 5 ml's to start. I often test with 20 drop mixes. Good is good. Something other than good is NOT GOOD. As mentioned, start low and increase the percentage. I use a sheet like this to find the sweet spot:

View attachment Flavoring Chart.pdf

There are many variations to this chart, but I made it for how I mix and it works for me. Good luck!

And I bet you cant wait to vape them. the good thing is if you dont like them you can fix em.

Ah yes. I've had them in 2x 30mins UC, and I'm gonna wait a day to try em.

I'm a tad worried about my strawberry cheesecake tho. My total flavoring % is 23%, which apparently is very high. Shakes head.

Holy crap that's a GREAT list! Thanks so much! Saved.

Kiwi, I copied that post with the percentages in my notes on my iPad so I didn't have keep looking it up.
It's worth it to have it close to you when mixing

You are very welcome!
That list is an accumulation from many many many different people, and as we all know everyone's tastes are different. Just keep that in mind. You may personally like lower or higher percentages than what is on the list. I use them as a general starting range and go from there.

Oh and everyone is allowed to add to/change/modify the list. It isn't mine. If you do make changes to the list just put them in bold

Yes 10% on tiramisu would probably be nasty for sure, I remember reading that tiramisu smells funny for a few days after you mix it(cat piss was the actual description I remember reading). I haven't tried it myself so I can't comment on that, but many people love love love that flavor once it has steeped.

Not with TFA, and particularly when you are using creams and vanillas. Most of my creamy, sweet, vanillas are closer to 30%. Straight TFA single flavors can taste "off" or chemically at 23% or higher, but not generally with mixes. You'll see soon enough. Other flavor brands of higher flavor concentrations are too high with that much flavoring, but I have not found that to be true with TFA's. When I started, I heard the same thing, so I kept my flavorings lower and I could never get my juice to the tastes I wanted and liked. I don't have a single juice with less than 20% flavoring, or more than 30.5% flavoring today, and I have over 30 ADV's. Taste, though, is entirely subjective. The point is that the "rules" that I read about right here on this thread often don't apply to everyone, and only by experimenting can we create the juice we like. More important to keep an open mind, make smaller batches, try unusual combinations (the bases of most tobacco flavorings, for example, are combinations of fruits flavorings, which together do not taste like either fruit to start with (not NET's)). Also, on the "LIST," remember that these are a good ballpark for your one or two predominant flavors. When you get into mixes, the secondary flavors are almost always at lower percentages, as has been my experience. Good luck and happy mixing.

Taste is so subjective... I have a thought, but it might be totally wrong for you. I, too, love the Starbucks PSL. First, TFA has a pumpkin flavor. I have it because I thought I could use it to duplicate Starbucks PSL. Wrong. The pumpkin flavor from TFA is very authentic which means to me it leans toward the cucumber side of what a pumpkin is. Using it to duplicate Starbucks PSL didn't work. I suspect it might have helped if I'd used *LESS* of it.

The only question I have about your recipe above is the graham cracker flavoring. I get no graham cracker flavor from the Starbucks drink we're talking about. I have used TFA Graham Cracker Clear and it's good. So... I suspect you've used the creams in a combination before so you know what you want.

What about nutmeg and cinnamon? I'd be curious to know if that pumpkin spice from TFA has those flavorings already present. And one more: vanilla...

By all means, whatever you do, please post your thoughts about the outcome and what you eventually end up with.

Like your thinking Tim. Seems to me that adding Cinnamon Danish to the Pumpkin Spice along with other creams and vanillas, is going to get close to what you're after, or the original poster is after. When I want just a touch of cinnamon, I always find that the CD helps, rather than straight cinnamon, which is difficult to get right and not overpowering. Two cents, guys. Good luck.

CINNAMON DANISH!!!!! I have to remember that. The cinnamon flavor is so strong I've not been successful with it. Good one, Bill!

For the vape I was more going for pumpkin pie with whip cream and a graham cracker crust. I just plugged the PSL because im excited about it coming back soon. The pumpkin spice TFA smells very spicy in the tube but maybe its more mellow when in a liquid. I was feeling it had Cinnamon and clove already in its flavor profile. I do think that cinnamon danish could add something to the mix tho. Hmm, ill likely whip this up sunday and ill def report back.

I have citric acid in powder/crystal form. Mixing solids and liquids baffles me. I'm making it harder than it should be.

How do I add citric acid powder to 1 pint of PG to end up with .1% citric acid concentration?

Dope slaps welcome...

Tim
I make a 10% solution and add at about 1 drop per 50 mls, but depends on dropper size. 20 drops to a mil, use 1 drop per 50ml. 40 drops per ml, use 1 drop per 25 mils. You can get to solution with weight, volume, mass, etc. 9 for 1. How I do it anyway. I'm sure others have other ways and amounts. Good luck.

Maybe involve some vanilla bean gelato in some manner too?

You bet. I use all of the different vanillas and creams that TFA offers in various recipes. Want sweet vanilla, use vanilla swirl. Want creamy, try Bavarian cream, want ice cream or French vanilla, use one of the several different ones. They're all good, imo. I also use both sweetener and cotton candy in my recipes. I have a sweet tooth. Good luck.
