hahaha, for sure!

I've a rule when it comes to shipping now that I'm in the middle of the country:

Never order anything from either coast past Tuesday-because more likely than not, you wont see it until the NEXT Monday. :2cool:
I've been lucky with most of my orders.Like i mentioned before,i always order on thursday mornings, and if i order from Bull city,i get it saturday,if i order from wizard,it's either saturday or monday, but most times it is saturday, and usually the same with most others,so i'm sort of spoiled now on getting my orders on saturday haha.

I'm never lucky with USA orders. Only China ones LOL I expect I will see my TFA stuff probably tomorrow or Monday. Possibly even Tuesday. That's ok though, I'll just keep looking for recipes lol

Update to my Oreo Cookie/Cookies and Cream recipe:

Oreo Cookie/Cookies and Cream

FW Cookies and Cream - 7%
Sweet Cream - 8%
Sweetener - 5%
Double Chocolate - 3%
Vanilla Swirl - 3%
Bittersweet Chocolate - 2%
Bavarian Cream - 2%

After this one steeped for a couple of days, I tried the last recipe and it was spot on the Oreo Cookie flavor, but I couldn't taste the sweet vanilla cream between the cookies. So, I upped the sweet cream and changed the cotton candy to Sweetener, and upped it too. Frankly, this one may be better with Sweetener, rather than cotton candy. Anyway, I can taste them both now, and I think it's better, so I thought I would update the thread.

Doing research last night, I came across Brandon, Bill I am very, very sorry, as a mom of 2 boys(14 almost 15 and 4), I can't express how sad I felt reading, my estranged uncle's messy suicide(lung cancer) sort of eventually led me to vaping, and getting my mom vaping too, and my mom's lime vape preferences/quirks led me to diy.
. I remember you as one of the first people to welcome me to ecf, yes I remember because I was so honored a veteran posted on my intro; I always wondered where ya' went after gradually not seeing your posts much on the main forum over time, now I know: you are here helping in tfa DIY: ) How I came across was reading stevo' s vc recipe thread, came across posts there, returned here cause I had feeling Bill worked on that one and tweaked it...found Circus Maximus:) can't wait to try that one and the recent vc recipe too....I know cap's eggnog and just don't like the undertone I get- the plasticy note it's in vC2 also, nor do I want to wait a long time for it to settle/fade, so I hope to give these 100% tfa ones a try soon....seems like tfa flavors have become the majority in my flavorings anyway, wouldn't surprise me much if I end up 98% tfa. I do love researching for DIY though
Strawberry Belg. Waffle recipe I made and am going to adjust, needs work imo

8% tfa Belg. Waffle
7% tfa strawberry ripe
2% cap sweet strawberry
1% tfa whipped cream
1% tfa van swirl

Planning on subbing tfa waffle for belg. waffle to decrease maple syrup taste for my personal preference, tfa strawberry replace cap ss, maybe increase wc and vs by 1%...

Thinking mango, guava, maybe kiwi double to mix with jackfruit, back to mixing very soon, thank God colds pass quickly since quit smoking....pif a lot of vendor juices yesterday, I honestly like seeing an almost bare juice cupboard after downsizing, for some reason, it gives me a sense of relief, my diy toolbox belongings grow though, so slimmed one area, fattening up another.

And plan on hitting my version of ren' s butterscotch/caramel creme mix soon too

Thanks Mom!

I remember you from your intro. I spent a long time on the New Member Forum, learning about our gear, and evolving, and showing others the "way." I moved on to specific forums when ECF asked the veterans to allow the new members to do their thing on that forum, and not the more experienced folks, or so that is how I read their instruction. So, I post regularly on several threads, but I love this DIY thread, and post here most often, and find more gratification sharing here. There's only so much joy that can come from telling the Taifun folks to change their O-rings, and use KGD. :D

I do remember working on Stevo's Vanilla Cream. I could never get it to work. You're right, the problem was Capella eggnog. In fact, Capella eggnog, butter and vanilla custard were all problems for me. I did reformulate my vanilla custard with TFA flavorings a year later, and today that is Circus Maximus, a popular vanilla custard mix. The work on Stevo's, though, did teach me that waiting four or five weeks for juice to steep was just nonsense. It was bad to start with, and only became good when the offending flavoring (eggnog), dissipated enough to vape it. I still have friends that swear juice needs weeks of steeping. I just know better through trial and error, switched to high flavor mixes (at one point, the rule of thumb was flavorings of 15% or less, again nonsense), and found my 100 drop taste test, freeing me, and allowing me to make many mixes in a short period of time to then develop some good juices. That entire evolution probably took a good year. Sounds simple now, but no one else was talking about it, and often, quite the opposite. I could not make good juice using their methods, so, eventually, I developed my own, and am happy to share them here.

Also, over the last couple of years, I've stumbled across some good recipes and mixes, and happily share them here, and NOT keeping them secret, and protected, as so many veteran juice makers do (commercial reasons). If I can help one vaper make a good juice and they can use that to quit smoking, then I have accomplished my goal.

Your strawberry Belgian waffle looks good! Not my favorite vape, but I bet it's tasty good. I would use TFA sweet strawberry, and add sweet cream to the vanilla swirl to help round out the edges. Both the waffle and ripe strawberry have an edge, I think. I would probably add maple syrup, so I could better control the flavoring. You could also just increase whipped cream, instead of adding sweet cream. As sweet as three of those ingredients are, I would still add Sweetener, again, to control the flavoring. With those additions, I would increase base flavorings (primaries) about 4 or 5%. But that's all on paper. Then I would have to rigorously taste test to get to a final. Making a juice like this one requires a good hour or two of uninterrupted time to work out the kinks, so just allow plenty of time to work with the many different flavorings. I'm sure you'll get a great mix! :toast:

I have no vendor flavorings, other than those I am asked to match. In most cases, it's easy to improve upon them, at least to my taste sensibilities. Others seem to like 'em, so I might be doing something right.

On another note, my pecan pie has become a big hit. One vendor can't get enough of it. I think it's good, maybe not great, but then, again, I don't vape at 1000 watts, and juices do taste differently under high heat, but not all of them lose flavoring. It's hit or miss, and I haven't figured out the pattern yet. I am being asked now to make about 25 different juices with 3 ml/mg strength. Again, the high heat makes even 6 mg/ml too high. So, that's what I'm up to. I'm glad you're still participating in the forums. I don't help the new members much anymore on that forum, and there are plenty of people to replace what I learned. I spent a long time on the micro coil forum, learning how to build a properly tensioned micro/mini/macro coil, and then built a coiler to reproduce it quickly. Lots of information about different coils and wicking materials there. My buddy MTV hangs out on the Protank thread. Most of my buddies rarely get on anymore. I keep thinking I'm going to get tired of it, but haven't yet. So, that's where I am, and where I've been. Thanks for remembering! All the best Mom! :toast:

:banana:I have an idea. I was wondering if some of you would like to participate in a category "cook off." By this, I mean we take a vape genre, like say Danish juice, and we make all different types of Danishes, i.e., apple, lemon, cherry, strawberry, cream cheese, etc. We set a time limit of maybe a week or so, and just see what each of us can come up with, sharing our experiences along the way. We use primarily TFA flavorings, but if TFA doesn't have a flavoring, then we make that exception.....ONLY. In this way, by all of us focusing on a particular category, we may be able to make a breakthrough to a better juice than any of us can make now. We can see all the different efforts, try some ourselves, share our ideas of what worked and didn't work, all information being so very valuable, and in doing so, our level of juice making is irrelevant, we can all learn from each other. If we could get about ten of us on the same category, I just know that two weeks later we're going to know how to make better juice in that category. This will be fun, will help build this community, and will result in better juices and higher TFA bills. :D

I think Reni had an idea about something like this a while back. It wasn't a fully formed plan yet, but neither is this one. Maybe some input from you folks on how to do this, what the "rules" are, what category we want to work on, etc. FEEDBACK IS NEEDED TO GET THIS OFF THE GROUND AND TO GET PARTICIPATION. Who's in this? Who has suggestions? Please "Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope." Whatcha think?   :toast: :D :vapor:

Edit: You lurkers....this would be a good time to join in the fun. No experience necessary. Great questions and answers, lots of sharing, suggestions, and FUN! Now would be the time to join in! Come on! This will be an effort where participation is rewarded, not award winning juice, though we might end up there too! We need your questions to help us to focus and to make this breakthrough. There's no reason we can't make the best juice on the Planet, we just can't do it alone. Who's in? We need this to make a paradigm shift, to allow us to get to the next level. Come on! :D

Please reply with Quote to draw attention to this effort and to foster a sense of community spirit! Come on! :nun:

You know I'm all about it Bill!

Let's say:

Max 2 (or 3) flavors (keeps it fair for those who don't have a huge budget nor time etc)
3mg/ml (the nic content really needs to be the same for everyone in my opinion-correct me if I'm wrong)

Ok, I'm out of ideas. Anyone else?

Ok, Ren, you're all in!

By rules or guidelines, I'm thinking about time frames for the participation, neither too long, nor too short, and that the category has to be agreed upon, otherwise the sky is the limit. Using TFA flavorings, unless TFA does not have a flavor I think is important, as this is a TFA thread, and we shouldn't get too far off topic. I just want to see if we, as a group, can get to the next level in our juice making, and to encourage participation, in this endeavor. I think less guidelines are better than more guidelines, though there should be a beginning and an end, and a category, don't you think?

And so the TFA Community Vape Meet is started:

^^ I think this should be a nic free contest. Nic can alter the taste of a recipe, give it that bite/TH, plus people are all over the board with their nic content.

Good point Jim, that is kinna why I suggested 3mg/ml. If we're all using the same nic level-then it could be even and usable for those who don't have the budget to toss something that they create. But, you do have a tremendous point. Bill, wanna weigh in on this a bit? I can't make a decision LOL Not that it's really "my" decision to make either.

I think we should not limit the Nicotine, as we can adjust the mix to match our requirements and taste sensibilities. Also, I only know how to taste test for me, and that includes nicotine. I never make any flavorings without nicotine, when I'm taste testing them, though I do agree that nicotine does affect flavor. We are not trying to come up with a "winner" here, but rather the best juice we can make for ourselves within a given category. If you notice the recipes that are posted, nicotine and base carrier additives are not mentioned, only flavorings, as we all use different ratios and different nicotine levels. I make juice all the time from 0 nic to 24 mg/ml nic, from previously mixed flavorings only, and not including my VG or VG nic, and regularly post these recipes here. I would agree completely that we not post our nicotine or carrier bases, but only the flavorings we use. :toast:

Yes, I'll weigh in. I suggest that we list only flavorings and no nicotine or PG or VG carrier bases. FLAVORINGS ONLY, which is how 99% of the recipes are normally displayed, and neither the carrier bases, nor the nicotine is displayed......only flavorings and their percentages. I just don't see it as a factor.
