Looks like the Danish-thon this weekend produced a lot of tasty treats. Good thing vg delivered so I can mix some up soon....lemon looks right in my ballpark, I've been on a lemon kick....what I did mix prior to running out of vg was a blackberry mix, another lemon mix, and a strawberry/vanilla ice cream blend...I am trying these with the wound spray saline to see if helps with being less drying for me since I use a higher vg base

I use rayon for wicking too redeuler

I got my horchata smooth in too and bav. Cream...I am finally starting to see which flavors I use more and need larger sizes of....mine are strawberry ripe, yes I love it, bav. Cream, sweet cream

Yes, and no. I set it up, used it at the shop then came directly home and tore apart my mod to make it all pretty LOL Soooooooooooooo-If it gets above 70 today, I can shoot the last clear coats on the tube and start using my Fogger wednesday!!!!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Well my computer has been out all weekend so now I have to catch up on reading today didn't get to mix either this weekend so if anyone replied to my questions this is why I didn't get back to anyone.

First time I ordered from tfa directly, so how long does an order take to be delivered? I'm pretty sure I got two day shipping, $11.55 shipping option..ordered Friday night.. probably going to wait longer for base though.

I've only had passion fruit, vanillin, raspberry, sweet tart, and whip cream.. I have L.A. cherry, and some cola..but use more than 4 drops and it starts to turn black..I think it's mfs? I don't know..

I'm gonna start managing my finances better..lol. Funny..not having hardly any flavoring, no base either- been using Wal-Mart/humco VG.

Where does everyone get their base? I just ordered from Amazon...43 ounces for like $13 bucks..32ounces pg for $10.. both are from essential depot.

I was considering bulkapthecary for my base for now on, but I wanted to be on how much vg I get in each pound.


Oh...but I love the cheesecakes.. particularly with graham crust- I notice that there isn't a disclaimer on the graham crust cheese cake, and it does have a different flavor profile than the OG cheesecake.. and I was presently surprised on how awesome strawberries and cream is to work with..great as the main layer, or just an accent.. is it verified to be safe from diektone's?

Also, oz of strawberries and cream and vanilla swirl & 4mL of vanilla gelato-I bought it because of the description..all flavors have the potential to be irritating to the lungs, so just keep it in low amounts.. almost bought an oz, but wasn't sure if it, and I already have several flavors that I wanted an oz of, that got turned into 4mL..several flavors removed..cuz I be broke..lost the grammar-thon..never figured out proper wording in present tense.

Batch Day. While yesterday was 14 different Danish flavors, and perhaps 30 - 100DT's, today is about putting my favorites in 30 ml bottles, and letting the juices do their thing. Just made strawberry, apple and lemon Danish. Lemon is strong (and delicious - my favorite). Apple is just wonderful and Jo's favorite. While is was suggesting to Jo that the apple just begs for .5% cinnamon (spice), she was equally as sure that it didn't, perfect the way it is. The apple is definitely an ADV. Happy to report that I now have a dutch apple pie, an apple jacks, and now an apple Danish in the flavor cabinet!

Strawberry was just ok, usual problems with it. I would like to bombard it with creams and sweetener to get the strawberry I normally make, but at 30% flavoring now, probably won't bother. Jo liked the strawberry better than the lemon, and the apple the best. As mentioned previously, though, the strawberry may be better at 10%, which would allow 2% higher sweet cream, which might "solve" the flavor issue with TFA Strawberry (sweet). I used 12% fruit flavoring in all three today, so the recipe(s) looked like this:

Apple/Lemon/Strawberry Frosted Danish

Apple/Lemon/Strawberry - 12% (Pick a single fruit, though fruit mixes are hardly new either)
Vanilla Custard - 4%
Brown Sugar - 3%
Sweetener - 3%
Waffle/Belgian Waffle - 2%
Butter - 2%
Sweet Cream - 2%
Cream Cheese Icing (LA) - 2%

If you don't want the CCI, drop it, and add 1% each to butter and sweet cream. These complex recipes are true flavor bombs and have great separation in the flavorings. Me likee!

Bill Did you try adding 1% or 2 of raspberry and half that amount of lemon combined to help the Strawberry blues??
It might just be what you are looking for to fix the fruit topping without modifying the danish part.

Surprised to see how much flavoring of the mix is the "danish" part when agreed eating one mostly topping was tasted.

How different would it be if I did this without the waffle? Do you suggest something in its place or upping the % of some other flavor or 2?

I'd also be using a different fruit probably strawberry (boy that strawberry is awesome!) But that I can figure out on my own.


And just to say thank u to all again - I actually made a Strawberry & Cream all by myself that came out pretty good. Can definitely use tweaking next time but it's good and I didn't look at any recipes lol. I have a mammoth amt of bought juices & I find I'm reaching for the ones I made. Good sign.

Not using waffle would make almost no difference. The waffle is a secondary/tertiary flavoring, and you may not even miss it. I would give it a go and see if it works for you. Good luck!

Shipping- Since I don't know where you live, it's kind of hard to say how long it will take to get to ya If you ordered Friday, more than likely it will be shipped today however. I do hope that helps.

As far as your mix turning black-Something doesn't seem at ALL right there. Is that all the flavors listed that do that? Only one? A couple together? What brand flavors?

VG/PG/NIC- Me personally-I started with getting my bases and Nic through NudeNicotine. Now I get my bases through NicotineRiver.com and my nic I still get through NudeNicotine. BA is a GREAT place however!!!!!! If it helps, a gallon is 8lbs for VG (thanks Bill lol). That should give you a generally good idea. I highly recommend their customer service. If you have questions-let them know!

The Supposed No-No's- Please take a sec and read what Linda has found out about such things here. Shes gone over and above any other supplier on educating her customers about those ingredients. IMHO-If you're afraid of all these in the small amounts (typically parts per BILLION), I do completely understand. I know people have sensitivities. However my personal theroy is I better stop eating if those ingredients scare me. After originally hearing about it all, I did my own research and those "no-no's" are in SOOOO many foods *I* eat-I'd starve if I wanted to stay away from them. Nope-love food too much! I know that's just me. But please, take some time and educate yourself, FOR yourself. Everyone is individual and as such, we all have our own opinions. And it's ok if we don't all agree! It's what makes life interesting!!!!!!

No, just the sweet strawberry. I have been able to solve the strawberry without using raspberry previously. Grape requires either raspberry or strawberry to kill the chemical/floral notes. My successful strawberries have looked like this:

Flamingo

Strawberry - 8%
Juicy Peach - 7%
Coconut - 3%
Sweetener - 2%

Pink Starburst

Strawberry - 8%
Sweet Cream - 4%
Vanilla Swirl - 4%
Cotton Candy - 2%
Sweet and Tart - 2%

Dragon's Blood

Dragon Fruit - 10%
Cotton Candy - 5%
Strawberry - 5%
Bavarian Cream - 4%
Vanilla Cupcake - 2.5%
Sweet Cream - 2%
Vanilla Swirl - 1.5%

Strawberries and Cream

Strawberry - 12%
Sweet cream - 5%
Vanilla Swirl - 5%
Hazelnut - 3%
Honey - 3%
Sweetener - 2%

In each of these cases, I used strawberry below 10%, except the Strawberries and Cream, but the S/C has about 15% creams and vanillas which moderate it well. I think dropping the strawberries to 8-10% and adding creams/vanillas will fix the problem. I made bases of all, then dumped in 12% of different fruits. Apple and Lemon worked well for me. Strawberry, which I taste tested at 10% was also fine, just at 12% it goes bad for me, not so much chemical/floral, where the raspberry shines, but more toward YUKKY, and away from strawberry.

While it appears that the mix is largely "the Danish part," the fact is that I mix all my fruits with vanillas and creams to make them pop, and so there is crossover in the Danish base and fruity topping. If you look at my Peach Danish (from 18+ months ago), there really is not Danish base part to it, and that's not what I taste when I eat Danish either. Mostly, just the toppings. If you look at pie fillings, you'll see the same thing as well.

I will think, today my brain is running slow...worked yesterday with undesired co worker with no work ethic, my brain Trying saline to add moisture to things, right now at 2%……don't taste it...cool temps in pa and forced air heat...dries the nose out a bit as is, so I'm trying to see if prevents nosebleeds or not for me...

Hey bill, just wondering if you've mastered cheesecakes.

I can't seem to make my cheesecakes amazing, with strawberry blueberry, raspberry, white chocolate etc etc

Cheesecake will be the death of me, i love it so much and can't figure it out.

It just turns out weird.

I usually use TFA Cheesecake (GC) or normal

strawberry 5%
Cheesecake 2%


Should i be adding soem cream and bavarian?

Don't feel bad. I can't make them with TFA flavorings either. One of the mysteries of the vaping world....Cheesecake that is. I don't even use the flavoring as a supporting/secondary flavoring either. I can't get it to work. If you do, though, please let me know. Sometimes, duplicating the flavor does not duplicate the taste experience, and I suspect cheesecake falls into that category, with its rich robust taste and texture. Flavorings, alone, might just not do it.....we may just need a couple of pounds of cream cheese, eggs, butter, cream and sugar. If it doesn't stick to the roof of my mouth, how can it be cheesecake?

The flavor is LA cola..I believe..it is a black cola syrup flavor..

Those no-no's are in food, yes, but those no-no's are only dangerous when inhaled. My body is already ....ed up enough from chemicals I've put in it.. I commented like that on the butyric acid because when I asked about it weeks ago, someone commented, "well, it says it's a lung irritant in the description.." but anything can be irritating to the lungs in the right quantities.

Has anyone here tried Hansen italian cream to their cheesecake mixes in small %'s yet?

Saline at 2% not effecting flavor for me, I need to give it time to see if helps moisterize vape, cold weather here in pa lately and forced air heat in house, I'm really just trying to prevent nose bleeds which have been an issue for me in winter when I was smoker and increased with vaping...worth a try as long as not hurting flavor.

I have no ideas for next flavor family either yet, Ren is right, Bill nailed pies...what next??? Fall seasonal mixes? Wasn't someone working on a pumpkin roll?
