Post away. The many new DIY'ers that come here often don't read the past threads, so I have to keep posting the same things over and over. I added blogs to reduce some of this, but I really don't like to point them out....seems tacky. But, I get tired of doing it over and over and over. So, please post away!:toast:

Wow, thanks, Porksmuggler. I notice a few missing, LOL, but I thank you for the posting! Maybe half of what I've posted? Anyway, it's a good representative sampling, and I hope it's helpful. Remember, these are flavored for my tastes, so you may have to adjust them for your particular taste sensibilities, likes and dislikes. Will point many new mixers in the right direction. Many thanks!! :toast:

I left out any mixes with non-TPA flavors, so there were quite a few of those posted. If anyone sees any glaring omissions of TPA only mixes from previous posts, please let me know.

I think most of the bases are right in line with what I normally mix, maybe a percent or two higher here or there. That's why I actually compiled them, they look familiar to my taste. The only big difference is I don't use more than 1-2% EM/Cotton Candy, because I find it dulls/mutes the other flavors, without really adding much sweetness.

I did have trouble with your ADV, even though I like Cinnamon Danish. It's way to strong for me personally, I could still taste it the next day after a full night of sleep :)

I couldn't taste a thing when I first started vaping. I used to make my ADV with literally twice the mix, i.e., 46% flavoring. I lowered it about 4 months later! Sounds like you need to lower it NOW! :toast:

An example of when Cotton Candy doesn't mute the flavoring! I don't find that CC/EM mutes flavoring. I do find it can round out mixes, and enhance flavoring. I have read where others have your take, but far more, the opposite. Another example of differences in taste sensibilities and WHY there really are no rules of thumb....only experiences! :toast:

Yeah, I haven't smoked in years, just vaping. I did smoke for 20 some though, so I totally get the higher percentages, and think a lot of newer vapers who complain about light flavors won't have an issue with these :)

Also, depends on the gear you are using. I know plenty of drippers who think these juices are a little thin! When asked, they only know they are vaping somewhere near a thousand watts or so.

It's quite easy to lighten flavorings. Much harder to get the mix full, robust, and flavorful. :toast:

Andria, of course people are going to take offense with that first paragraph in your post...tfa is very transparent about these cn' s/diketones, and NOT ALL companies are as "open" , what you typed does sort of imply that tfa doesn't care....heck, even people who don't use tfa acknowledge tfa's disclosure practices, the info is out there in the open on the website, if they didn't care at all, why would they give this out so freely/easily? Some other flavoring brands have dodged questions about any of these "things" in their flavors...I've seen the posts here and elsewhere about others' experiences. Many who have concerns about vaping flavors vape unflavored too, so that may even be an option for you. Each person here makes their own individual and informed choices, we have differering opinions and preferences, and I do think we get along well, but that first paragraph probably ruffles some feathers just by implications made- intentional or not, sorry but the tone and context just comes across the wrong way. And yes, I do use some cap and some fw, but don't see the transparency I see with tfa....and I am not trying to be mean or snarky here, honestly

And the box mod? Cause if so, I'm ordering that NOW! Even though Cola makes my gums bleed and my teeth feel like they're falling out [emoji174] [emoji24] [emoji51]

I don't quite follow. The mod is a Potzbox. Unregulated dual 18650 box from the Philippines.
The Cola Concentrate is the super strength expensive one in bulk. I use it @2% with another strong flavor in a 90%VG mix and boom! Wish she made more stuff this strong! lol

You can make vanilla custard without using custard notes, using TFA flavorings only, I believe. I have the recipe somewhere in my notes, and I know it was posted on this thread sometime during the last two months or so. Maybe someone can find it? :D

that was me :p

Got this off a DIY page and thought I'd share. She has been mixing for a long time and compared it to Capellas VC original version after a 4 day steep... YMMV

It can be done...
'Safe' (DA and AP Free) Vanilla Custard
5% TPA Vanilla Bean Gelato
5% TPA French Vanilla Creme (both new flavors)
2% TPA Brown Sugar Extra
3% TPA Cotton Candy
Tastes great- checked the spec sheet for AP and DA

Is chocolate involved? I notice a hint of it with vanilla swirl..but I haven't it tried it by itself. It comes out stronger in some mixes that wouldn't be chocolaty what so ever by my projections..

I was mainly comparing Capella to FlavourArt, which I don't care for, though I do have one flavor of theirs that isn't bad. But I'm glad I found out so soon how the slightest comment in here can be misinterpreted and cause everyone here to jump all over me for something I never said or intended. I won't burden you all with any further comments, but just read and learn. I'll keep my questions to the main DIY forum.

No, I'm not insinuating anything. I know there is no diacetyl in the TFA flavors, but some of them do still have a bit of acetoin and that other one, propionyl. If I had normal lungs, I probably wouldn't even worry about the small amount of those, but after doing some reading last night about those particular chemicals and their potential effects on the lungs, I realized that I can't afford to dismiss all the concerns about those ingredients as pure hysteria -- they *might* be pure hysteria, but to someone with already-problematic lungs, I can't take the risk.

Why is everyone so quick to take offense about everything around here? Good grief.

Andria
I'm not sure I would be vaping if my lungs were "not normal". Did you smoke? I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but maybe you could vape just vg, pg, and nic. I know of a few people that vape unflavored. Anyway good luck.

So I don't actually *need* 'vanilla custard', as one of my "stock" flavors? I asked here yesterday if anyone has tried the FW Vanilla Custard, or Capella's v2 of that flavor, since they don't have the bad chemicals, but no one ever replied.

As I said, I do think a lot of the yammering going on about that stuff is largely hysterical... but with my asthma, I can't afford to take chances with anything that has a risk of damaging my lungs; I already have days where it's hard to breathe, and I know how awful it is, and how much I DON'T want more of it.

Andria

I tried Capella's V2. I can't say I like it as much as the V1, but I don't find it nearly as bad as many of the comments and reviews I have read might lead you to believe.
I think it may be fine for mixing with other flavors.

Needs some help with a blend I am doing for my daughter...

Carmel Cappuccino 15%
Bavarian Cream 5%

Smells awesome and leaves a dead on after taste but taste a little burnt on the inhale.

Haven't really made that many coffee juices so far. The one I did make, I got around the burnt taste by adding chocolate, Bavarian and Sweet Cream, and Sweetener. Since you already have the Bavarian, try adding:

chocolate - 4%
Sweet Cream - 2%
Sweetener - 3%

The chocolate should remove that burnt flavoring. Let me know how it turns out. I make mine with TFA Coffee, my Café Mocha Recipe. You could do the same and add caramel. Probably easier to get to the taste you want anyway. Combination mixes don't seem to make good primary flavorings with TFA, but, rather excellent secondary and supporting flavorings. It would probably look like this:

Caramel Coffee Mocha

Coffee - 9%
Chocolate - 4%
Bavarian cream - 3%
Sweetener - 3%
Sweet Cream - 2%
Caramel - 2-3%

Good luck with this and please let us know how you "solve" the puzzle! Best! :toast:

:2cool: :vapor:
