Ok, thanks for the link! I see a couple that I do actually have, and a couple that I would never use (RASPBERRY! GACK ACK PTUI! and really not crazy about lemon ANYTHING, or tart flavors, since I've pretty much given up most tobacco flavors -- I got some bitter wizard, and it worked wonders on the Virginia, but mostly don't care for that taste).

I've got Koolada, Pineapple, Apple, Vanilla Cupcake, Sugar Cookie, Banana Nut Bread, Cinnamon Redhot, Blueberrry Extra, Blueberry Candy, Cake Batter on the way, and AP on the way, and a little sweetener, and I can see I need to buy a bigger bottle of sweetener; most all the ejuices I've tasted, even the pre-made, aren't nearly sweet enough to my taste. But then, I was a kid who put sugar in orange juice! :D I'm not QUITE that bad now, but I do like things sweet, especially fruit flavors. And I agree with that caveat you posted the other day, about sweetener not necessarily "muting" flavors -- to me, I can't even really taste some flavors until they're pretty sweet -- the sweetener is what actually makes them "POP!"

Andria
Some of the flavors you don't like, lemon and raspberry, for example, are often used to eliminate the chemical/floral notes you are experiencing. If used at lower percentages they would help you with this and NOT affect overall flavoring. Both raspberry and strawberry, for example, are used to eliminate the chemical flavoring in grape, yet all that is usually tasted is the NEW GRAPE! FYI...

Anyone getting a strong flower-y taste with the raspberry/blackberry flavors? I keep cutting them thinking they're just really strong flavors but it persists. Would adding some sweetener or marshmellow help?

Vanillas and creams will save the day for ya! Does for me anyway...

Question for you guys: one of the suggested "stock" flavorings is vanilla custard; it appears that TFA's contains *both* acetoin and acetyl propionyl -- anyone tried FW's or Capella's v2 vanilla custard? Apparently those don't contain the "bad" ingredients.

Actually I consider most of the concern on those ingredients to be verging on hysteria... but I have asthma, so I can't really afford anything that even has a possibility of further damaging my lungs -- and I like the bakery flavors, so I need to identify sources of them that don't have those ingredients.

Thx!
Andria

Hi all! Missing everyone [emoji22]

I had to make a quick comment before I go pack some more..

LOOK! SOMETHING THAT USES RIPE STRAWBERRY! WOAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Ok, back to the quiet corner of trip-land!

Anytime I use strawberry, I always ALWAYS use a bit of strawberry ripe in a lower percentage than the about of regular strawberry. To me, anything else tastes artificial.I realize it's all artificial but it still tastes much more realistic to me... :)

I'm dismayed to hear that about the strawberry flavors; that's a flavor I really do like. Does anyone know if any of the brands have a strawberry flavor that's any good? Maybe Inawera?

Andria
Oh,don't take me the wrong way on that. You may like the tfa strawberries, alot of people love it,i have found that i really don't like that flavor from any vendor i have tried.I tried both of tfa's,capella, flavor west, and a few premade juices that had strawberry in them,i did not like any at all,but like i said alot of people do.

Here's my problem with TPA flavoring; I find it to be very light, not very strong flavor. If I keep upping the amount of flavor in the mix it just feels over flavored and kind of thick, if you will. Any thoughts? What should I try to bring out the flavor more?

Add creams, vanillas and sweeteners. Will bring out the flavors. If kept under about 6%, you won't even notice them as separate flavors either. At least, that's how it works for me, anyway. Richer, thicker, POP. My take, anyway. Good luck. Here's some more information about this:

Hope this helps. There's a lot of great advise on this thread going back a few months. Diverse views, alternative ideas and suggestions. All good! Check them out! :toast:

Just finished my ADV juice, Cinnamon Danish:

1 500 mls of CD.jpg

500 mls in a nice Re-agent bottle, flanked with a 15 ml dropper and a 30 ml capped boston round bottle, both amber. This is my stash for the next month. I do vape other juices, so many I love actually, but this is my main vape. All Day Vape (ADV). Recipe:

Cinnamon Danish - 10%
Cotton Candy - 10%
Bavarian Cream - 3% (- 6%)

Smells wonderful too. The wide reagent bottle mouth provides a huge surface area. Aeration is quicker, bubbles disperse quicker (about 2 hours in these reagent bottles). I will store these in a 240 ml glass bottle in the vape shack, a 120 ml bottle in Vaping Corner, and smaller bottles for travel. Here's Vape Shack and Vaping Corner:

20141028_040553.jpg Vaping Corner.jpg

Here's my Travel Gear:

20141028_042022.jpg

The Travel Gear folds up nicely and fits easily in my carry on brief case. I keep already made coils and wicks in the clear plastic containers, along with two or three additional Taifun's, coiled, wicked and ready for immediate use. The white battery case is both a charger and charges my four 18650's. I also carry 2 18650's in my pockets. I also carry a two bay battery charger (I2) with me for use in room and in car. I can completely rebuild all my gear with the mini tools, as well. When I am more than about 30 miles from home, this gear goes with me. Since we cannot get our "stuff" from the corner store, I travel quite well prepared (paranoia). I also usually travel with an additional two or three vaporizers. Here you see The Eye, a Semovar, and a backup Provari. I carry my Silver Provari in my pocket, along with stainless eJuice holder (shown), and batteries. Meant to show these kits when everyone was doing their show and tell a couple of weeks ago, but couldn't get it together! Ciao!

Bills CD is EXTREMELY edible lol I love the stuff! And it's a 3 ingredient recipe, so economical for those on a budget. I imagine that it's around $. 10 a ml (give or take). Awesome stuff!

So, I'm NOT paranoid taking my whole Box with me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I leave the house, anywhere outside of Colorado Springs proper, I take:

This pic is a lil old, but I suddenly don't feel like I'm the only one (thanks Bill!!). I just can't decide if it's appropriate to take the (what's now termed around the house as..) Porta-Lab (think Porta-potty, my family has a sick sense of humor lol) out to California.... I'm sure I'll be debating until I leave Friday morning lol

In town I take my mod, 2 or 3 batteries and a couple of spinners with tanks. I also have a 30ml bottle that I take with me (I found one that fits perfectly in a prescription bottle-no leaking) just in case. I also repurposed a plastic battery box to fit a 650mAh ego and a Mini Pro Tank. Good stuff!

I'm really starting to dig the reagent bottle idea though... Found some recently - might be having to pick some up! I find that the longer I do this, the further the paranoia digs in lol

Wow Bill, very nice setup you have. I have a feeling that maybe there's a slight hint of OCD going on? ;) lol. It takes one to know one...

My cost, including carriers and nicotine is $5.48 for 500 mls, or $.011 per milliliter (1.1 cents per milliliter), as follows:

Nicotine - $1.50 (6mg/ml) (By the liter from My Freedom Smokes)
PG - .56 (by the liter Amazon)
VG - .18 (by the 5 gallon from Bulk Apothecary)
CD - 1.48 (TFA by 16 oz)
CC - 1.32 (TFA by 16 oz)
BC - .44 (TFA by 16 oz)
--------
Total $5.48 for 500 ml, or $0.011 per ml (Juice cost only)

If I bottled these into say seventeen 30 ml bottles and labeled and packaged them, then total cost would be $17.00 total, or $0.03 per ml. This works out to be about $0.33 per bottle for juice and $0.67 per bottle for boston round amber glass bottles, labels, ink, and packaging, or total cost of $1.00 per each 30 ml bottle. Wholesale value is $102.00 vs. $17.00 cost. Value on the streets where I live is $340.00. So, it's official, DIY is less expensive than retail juice costs. Sorry for the math, but many new lurkers are not aware of the vast savings available by making our own juice. :D

The tools case is from amazon, just a manicure set case without all the tools, and I think about $5 - 10 for pack of two of them. The case for the batteries, RTA's, Vaporizers, etc. is from Fasttech. They have several different ones to choose from:

https://www.fasttech.com/p/1672400

Less than $8.00. A bargain, I think. I also got this one:

https://www.fasttech.com/p/1672401

About $10 but less effective for me. It's too big, I think because of the way it folds so thick with hard sides (no give). :toast:

Well I have marshmellow and some sweetener (the one like Cotton Candy) on the way. I want to stay away from vanillas and creams (stupid diacetyl fear).

Will those work, BMV? I'm trying for a candy-ish flavor. But this currently is like vaping a perfume.

TFA has no diacetyl, and the custard notes that exist is a few flavors is less than that found in our everyday food. For me, alone, I have no fear whatsoever about these ingredients. My guess is that no, you will need the creams and vanillas, many of which have NO CUSTARD NOTES whatsoever. You can try some raspberry or strawberry. Low percentages, say 2% may do the trick for you. Depends on which flavoring you are trying to cover. Good luck.

Also note that TFA's Vanilla Swirl is identical to their Vanilla Custard, but without the offending chemicals. I do doubt you can find a respectable custard without the AP and whatever else.

Which reminds me that I need to make up a big batch of my strawberry juice and try 100 drops replacing Vanilla Custard with Vanilla Swirl, to see just how delicious the alphabet soup is...
