my order did not arrive today so I guess I will have to wait till Monday to mix..... sad but I am patient.
I hope I ordered the right thing.....all of them say "concentrate ".....is this still what you use in the 100DT mentioned here?
When I add some of the percentage up it ranges from 15-25.....sure don't want to use those if I need to adjust because I bought concentrates!!!!
BILL are your percentages listed using the concentrates???????

Yes, our flavorings are highly concentrated. Most of the time there's only one item you can order that matches the recipe description, so not too worry, my friend. It's all good. High Flavor Mixes (HFM) is one of several ways to mix juice, and one that I advocate and prefer, but there's low and slow, as well. Long steeping at much lower percentages is also possible, but you will have to wait weeks for the juice flavoring to fully emerge. I'm a mix and vape kinda guy, so I use HFM. Good luck!

Did a 100 Drop test of this one tonight, didn't have a recipe so just went by what I have seen around to get rough ideas, yet again I didn't get exactly what I was going for (A co-worker wants a good watermelon vape), but I think I made another ADV for myself atleast (and I will let him try it).

Blue Watermelon:
12% Watermelon
5% Blueberry(Extra)
3% Strawberry

Getting notes of all three flavors, the watermelon isn't as predominate as I was going for, but it worked out to be well balance, getting notes of all three flavors, very smooth. One of my favorite store bought juices was called "Blue Moonshine" and this reminds of that, except much smoother tasting. Will take my test tank of it to work tomorrow night to see what my vaping coworkers think about it.

I'm just saying that the flavoring descriptions in our recipes usually match only one TFA flavoring available, and that our mixes use high flavoring percentages so they don't require long steep times, but can be mixed and vaped immediately. How ya been B? Long time no talk to. You good? :toast: :D

If you want to smooth these out and enhance the watermelon, for example, always remember to add the vanillas, creams and sweetener/cotton candy. At 6% or less each (lower on sweetener), they won't dominate, but will do wonders for the fruit. They are the magic that is often found in good juice, among others. Sweet is particularly important to add to the fruits, as fruits are naturally very sweet, and flavorings are not. I would add sweet cream, vanilla swirl and sweetener to your starting mix at say 2% - 4% each, and play with them up or down using the 100DT, until you find your mix preference. It's there. It's just counter intuitive, but that's just how these TFA flavorings work. Fruits without the supporting flavorings can be brutal. :2c: :toast: :D

Yah I might go for a stronger watermelon one soon, I have this one saved though cause while it might not be overly sweet it is still delicious, no perfume taste, and it is very smooth on its own. I wanted to see how they would do on their own before I started adding too many flavors. Thinking for my stronger watermelon one I might start out with:
Watermelon 12%
Raspberry(Sweet) 3%
Sweet Cream 3%
EM 2%

Personally I don't have much of a sweet tooth, never have, I am basically the opposite of AndriaD :p I need to wait another couple weeks to get some more hardware before I can really start hammering through 100 drop tests and get things tuned in better, currently just keeping it simple, learning how different fruits work together, which ones dominate and which ones smooth and give nice back tones.

Tart and Sour is a Loranns flavor I believe, TFA only has a "Sour" which from Bill has said doesn't give the proper bite for a lemonade. I have seen it in many of his recipes and I will be ordering it as well. I was planning on doing a order straight from TFA next time around, but might have to do one more from DIY-ejuice just because they carry LA/FW as well.

Bill what other non-TFA flavors would you recommend as staples to have around for fruity flavors, I would like it if I only had to do 1 more order from my current supplier so I can start saving my cash getting the TFA bulk sizes in the future.

That requires some thought, my friend. As a rule, I try to keep those recipes to a minimum on this thread. I do use a few FW flavors. Oreo cookies is to die for, OMG!
Peanut Butter Cup is great! A few more, but generally for very specific targeted flavorings, for which there is not a TFA substitute is the only time. Same with LorAnn's Cheesecake Icing. Wowzer! A little goes a long way, but spot on. So, a few. It's hard for me to look at all of these flavorings and not buy a few of everything, but I do try to stick with TFA for most of my juice, and try to avoid a lot of recipes on this thread. :toast:
Good deal, yes sir I was hesitant to ask. I did go through your posts that had FW in them and through your recipes that I saved and only found yellow cake, oreo cookie and pb cup. Oh and of course LA cci! Cheers Bill

THX!

yes sir it is!

Tart & Sour

Bulk is the way to go if you are really wanting to go DIY, as it is soooo much cheaper in the long run....

I am placing a re-stock order, about $220.00 worth , but it is like 28, 4oz bottles, which will last me a LONG, LONG time!

Just be sure to store you flavors in a cool dark place if possible, NOT the fridge....and they will last years!

Hence my posted comments about eating Ramen Noddles...

Yah I am still a bit low on some supplies too though, didn't get enough droppers/needle tips/syringes the first time around, and I want to get LA Sour and Tart and FW Lemonade. So I am guessing I will have to do another $100 from my current supplier to get free shipping, and after that it will be straight from TFA all the way. I hear ya on the ramen :p Costly to start up but at my work over the last 2 years I managed to get about 20 guys to switch to e-cigs, of those guys I probably have 10 that are already requesting flavors from me, so hopefully I can sell a bit of juice on the side, just enough to cover the costs of ordering more flavors. I already told them though that I will be staying away from Tobaccos, Coffees, Chocolates, basically sticking to fruits, candies and some desserts, stuff that I like :p

I have a shelving unit in my closet where I am storing my flavors for now, I have a 16 month old son so I need to ensure everything is well out of his reach. He is somewhat obsessed with my e-cig just because he sees it has buttons and lights, and I would never forgive myself if he ever got into anything with nicotine and got sick or worse. I have seen some bad cases of this, but always has to do with absent minded parents. Don't leave juice around, especially stuff that smells yummy, just common sense. Those kinds of things give e-cigs a bad rep, people are smart enough not to leave alcohol/cleaners/medicine sitting around with young children, and yet they don't think "Oh this bottle of e-juice that smells like real juice should be always kept well out of reach as well."

Really very few non-TFA flavorings, and mostly just in the gaps on flavors TFA doesn't have, and generally specific to a particular flavoring preference, like Cookies and Cream (a favorite), or Cream Cheese Icing (super strong, but you like what you like, right?). Truth be told, I can't remember all the non-TFA flavorings I use and like...

I have way more flavorings that I actually use. Why? Because I intend to make a certain flavor in the future, but truth be told, a lot of times, that either doesn't come, or hasn't yet come! :D That being said, I don't need any more flavorings to keep me busy for about 5 years, I think.

Get the basics, then add some target specific flavorings. Work on four or five recipes, and not 50 recipes. It'll save money, and keep it fun. :toast:

I prefer the TFA Vanilla Custard myself. Less intense, perhaps, but more useful. Cream Brulee? Where's the brown sugar? Sweetener?

VC V2 or FW VC will work fine, or both together, for that matter. A lot of people really swear by both of those. :toast:

So, sorry about the broken pipe and the Tourette's. :p

I don't have a specific recipe for Cream Brulee, but I do have this one from another juice maker.

Cream Brulee

Vanilla Custard - 8% (or FW Vanilla Custard (3%) + Cap VC V2 (5%))
Caramel - 3 - 4%
Sweetener - 3 - 4%
Brown Sugar - 2%

This is an estimate extrapolated from a cherry cream brulee recipe I have (9% cherry - FW Wild Cherry (4%) + FW Swiss Cherry (5%)) added to the above. I did add the brown sugar to this recipe as well. I taste both brown sugar and caramel in most cream brulee...quite wonderful, but flavor to taste, as always. There is enough Vanilla Custard in this to replace the customary cream/vanilla that I invariably add to almost every mix. As such, we are relying heavily on a single vanilla/cream/custard flavoring to accomplish this and do quite a bit. I like two or three vanillas and creams in recipes to allow me the flexibililty to adjust within that family on mixes. For this reason, this is why you will see two or more different vanilla custards added to the same mix, to provide that adjustment factor. It's a good rule of thumb. The single VC is not as useful. After making a 100DT, I would taste to find anything missing or anything where more flavoring may be required and adjust to suit taste...same as always. Hope this helps! :toast: :D

Sorry, I'm a little behind in catching up but wanted to comment on this. Dulce de Leche is a great flavor.I use it often because it is very strong. However, for me, it's a little too strong for my tastes if vaping immediately after mixing. Has a chemical taste that, while not bad, mellows out and is better after 24-48 hours -after all the flavors combine nicely.

I am normally a Capella guy and just bought the Dulce de Leche to try a GVC clone recipe and added a few along the way.
