Nicotine from both of these places is are sort of for the strong throat hit crowd. VZ is pretty steep for nic that is harsh to me. Heartland has a really good price on nic by the liter and is a stronger flavor, but considering the price a good deal. They also have some pretty cheap prices on the 4 oz here and there. The inconsistent pricing is a little maddening on flavors. heartland is a great place to buy a bunch of glass bottles as they have a flat rate ship method that makes it pretty cheap if you buy a bunch.

When I fisrt started I bought some VZ super concentrated flavors. They were expensive and to me they tasted terrible. Not any sort of knock on VZ as they just rebottle. but man those were awful.

I really really like Bull City and shipping from them is always pretty darn quick
Bull city looks kool! Thank you. What' the difference between their "concentrated" TFA & heartland TFA?

Is there a difference between TFA & FA? Besides name! LOL!
Yep 2 different companies.
You may be confusing The Perfumers Apprentice(TPA) and The Flavorers Apprentice(TFA)? Same parent company 2 different divisions.
FA is Flavour Art an entirely separate company.

You can buy the same exact flavor from 5 different company's, and they will each taste different, and require a different % of use to get the flavor your looking for.
TFA and FA each have some flavors that are good, and some that suck, just like all the rest of the flavor suppliers.
All you can do is try a flavor, like Caramel, and if you don't like it, .. try it from someone else.
Some require a higher % use to get the same flavor, and that may be important to you.
Admittedly, you can "kiss a lot of frogs" finding the flavors you like, but that's just the way it goes.
I've thrown away more that I've kept, after a solo 2ml test of each.
It's a process of elimination to find what tastes good to your taste buds.
I love Coconut (foodwise), and have tried 9 different company's ... nothing, no taste of coconut to me, no matter what % I use.
Yet other say you have to watch how much you use, as it's a strong flavor :grr:..I hate'm
In the long run, buying flavors that you throw/give away is still cheaper than doing the same with pre-made juices.
Once you find your "good" ones, the price of juice drops 90% in costs.
Have fun in the "lab"

When first learning to make juices, you need a flavor base that is not too strong, as you need a lot of room and forgiveness in your mixes. Easier to add a few drops than to dilute in an attempt to take away a few drops. TFA suits this purpose splendidly. TFA flavors also tend to play nice with others, another very valuable and forgiving attribute. Both qualities allow juices to be blended rather easily, particularly the combination of vanillas, creams and sweeteners, which truly bring magic to the mixes. Finally, few TFA flavors will take over and completely dominate a mix, though there are exceptions. Other brands often do this the majority of the time, making it difficult to mix quickly and easily. For these reasons and others, I recommend TFA flavors as, perhaps, the best flavorings to start with your DIY journey. After a while, you may just find that you don't need other brands' flavorings at all, except where TFA has flavor gaps, and there are a few of those.

Give TFA a chance. You have to start somewhere, and trying to start everywhere just makes a tricky entry hobby more difficult. At the start, we need all the advantages we can muster. I don't think you can go wrong starting with TFA flavorings. They're still my go to juice flavorings, and they also work great in HFM, eliminating long steep times, which is not always the case with other brands. Anyway...my two cents...:2c: :2c: :2c: :toast: :D

Are they a secret? Where do you go?
I usually buy from Bull City Vapors. Ecig Express has comparable prices, & their Signature line is TFA. Wizard Labs is good to get small samples from, most are about 1.49 for a small glass bottle to try a flavor before you commit to a bigger bottle.

The other day I made a 10ml sample of BMV's Cinnamon Danish recipe. Liked it so much, I decided to whip up a 30ml batch of it this morning. Accidentally put in 10% Bavarian Cream instead of 6%...good news is it's still vapeable, but it is a little light on the cinnamon side. I don't have enough EM and Cinnamon Danish left to fix it, so I'll just have to live with it until my next order...

I have a Peanut Butter Cream Pie recipe I am working on. At the time I only had Capella Peanut butter, but now that I have TFA too, I mix the 2 (split the total PB % to 1/2 each).

My Peanut Butter Cream Pie (in progress)
CAP Peanut Butter 8-10%
TFA Sweet Cream 3%
TFA Vanilla Swirl 4%
TFA Whip Cream 3%
TFA Pie Crust 3%
Maybe some graham?

Hi, I'm Joe and I've spent the last 10 weeks reading this thread (backwards) and taking notes and placing about a dozen orders from WL and BCV. I got some great deals on PG/VG from Essentials Depot and a $40 liter of NIC from MFS and more DIY knowledge than I had ever hoped to find and/or learn. It's amazing to me that in 12 weeks of DIY juice, I can make fantastic juice for less than .03 per ml thanks to all of you fine people who have provided me a DIY education. Thank you all for your contributions, not only some fantastic recipes but the know how to create some of my own as well. I think back to my first thoughts about DIY and just have to laugh at what my approach was going to be. So glad I found this awesome thread of knowledge. Thanks again for everything (Bill, what a tremendous commitment of time and effort that you have shared with all of us, thanks again).

How did this ever turn out for you? Here is what I did with your idea...
All TFA
Peanut Butter 9%
Sweet Cream 4%
Vanilla Swirl 4%
Whip Cream 4%
Pie Crust 3%
CCGrahamCrust 4%

I like it equally as much as my PB Dream ADV from BMV.

Haven't had much time to play with it, but this looks good! Thanks MVF! added to my recipe file under my recipe to try.
