@Bill's Magic Vapor - I made a batch of your Lemon Meringue Pie late Sunday night. Tasted the Lemon really strong right then, but I knew I would since it has EA in it. Been shaking it and leaving the cap off several hours at a time, to get rid of the EA and help it blend nicely. Knew it was gradually "doing its thing" as it should, 'cause I'd taste a drop from the bottle each AM & PM.

Decided to finally vape some late yesterday afternoon, and OMG...what a wonderful, absolutely "spot on" flavor! I couldn't put it down, and knew that 1 of my friends (a fairly new vaping convert) would love it, too. His reaction to it, about 30 minutes later, was the same! Immediately said, "Well...you know what you've got to make me at least 50mL of now, don't you?"

So thanks again Bill, for yet another really terrific recipe! You've nailed this one, too!

Oh, I wanted to add this - Because it's SO spot on...even with the vapor smell itself, I know there's no way this can be 1 of my stealth vaping juices! Everyone would be looking around for a hot-out-of-the-oven LMP somewhere nearby!
Thank you so very much. Such kind words. Always appreciated, and so glad you liked it! Best to you! :toast: :D

I always have to adjust percentages to taste. Every last dang recipe for me. Then again, that's half the fun of DIY...that is, getting it just the way I like it. I believe all recipes are suggestions anyway, and require adjustment to suit the individual tastes, heat, wick and coil, and equipment. It just is what it is! Good luck! :toast: :D

Absolutely! I am one of the most finicky vapers out there. Probably 98% of the recipes I try, I don't like. Sometimes it's just adjusting levels to taste, sometimes it's a different flavor out of a family.

For example, I made a recipe of Bill's a couple months ago. I was so looking forward to it. I made a 100 drop test and I didn't like it. I was so disappointed. The problem? (for me) He used bavarian cream. I've used bavarian cream in an ADV before, so I knew I liked it, but not in that recipe. I made another test, using sweet cream instead. That was the ticket!

So, if something just isn't quite right with a recipe, try adjusting levels or try another flavor in that family (creams, vanillas, fruits, sweeteners, etc). It's all about our personal taste and staying off of the smokes. :thumb:

I totally understand what you're saying. For example, I use Bavarian cream and cotton candy in certain recipes. In others, I use sweet cream and sweetener. Now, one may think they are very close to the same thing, but, for me, anyway, they are very, very different. I do very much like them both, but they are completely different. In one, I might make a Twinkie recipe. In the other, perhaps a Danish type recipe. The fun of DIY is making some of these discoveries, particularly certain combinations, and their differences, and then DIY starts to get very easy, one where you can really plan a recipe pretty close to perfection on paper first, then hit the lab and adjust perhaps ever so slightly to taste. I have been quite surprised that I could learn these things, as I have a rather poor sense of flavoring and taste, for the most part, yet, somehow, with DIY, I've been able to navigate to some pretty nice conclusions. All very, very surprising! I do believe that if I can do it, then anyone can do it.

That being said, my wife, Jo, will try her hand at making juice and even following my recipes to the nth degree, she can't seem to get it right. I just don't understand, but, I know first hand that this is easier for some folks, than others!

I guess my point is that if at first one does not succeed, try, try again! I think once we make our first ADV, the whole universe of possibilities open up. Six months later, there's 150 different flavorings, all kinds of glassware and gizmos, and the kitchen loses a whole cabinet, much to the disappointment of the significant others! C'est la vie! Is what it is! Good luck to all! :toast: :D

You definitely did it the right way...choosing recipes and ordering flavors to match. It's fine to order flavorings that sound good in addition, but ordering mostly by recipe is best!

Good luck! I hope you mix as well as you cook :)

@jwitfield - Not only will you most likely be pleased with what you get, but you'll love and appreciate the terrific packaging job WL does with your stuff. I've never ordered from anywhere else that does nearly the superb job they do! Never had anything leaking, damaged or broken, crushed, etc. They go above & beyond to protect your things. Their Customer Service by phone is also wonderful should you ever have any questions.

I hope you have as much fun as I've been having with DIY. I only started it February, and I really wish I hadn't waited so long. It's definitely worth it, too, besides being fun! You can have custom-made, terrific tasting liquids, and in a huge variety...anytime you want, and as little or as much as you want!

between here and there
I can tell you that I always refrigerate my flavors. When preparing to DIY, I take out what I need and allow to warm to room temp before using. Always shake before use. When I am done they go back to refrigerator. I usually make large batches of my favorites in 120 ml or even 250 ml and refrigerate those also. My daily ejuices are transferred from these larger bottles to smaller 30 ml bottles which I keep at room temp in an enclosed space. But that is just how I do it. Others may have options I haven't considered.
Hope this helps some.
:)

@JCinFLA Do you refrigerate you flavors and such? Or do you leave them out like ejuice?
This is just my opinion, but personally i would not put them in the refrigerator.Going from cold to warm and back to cold is going to cause condensation to build in the bottles which will start to dilute the flavors after a while. The only stuff i keep cold is full bottles of nic that i keep in the freezer, once it comes out,it stays out until it's empty.I still have some flavors from 2 years ago when i started diy, they have all been kept at room temp, and are still fine.

Geez! What's up with posting in this thread? Now most of my post disappeared!

I had said - I don't keep any of my flavorings in the fridge. The 8mL vials and some of the 1oz bottles I use the most often are kept in an enclosed divided tote, along with 60mL bottles of VG & PG, syringes, needle tips, gloves, some empty bottles, etc. The rest of the 1oz bottles and all of the 4oz bottles are kept in a box in the same cool, dark place in the A/C house as the gallon jugs of VG & PG I mentioned above.

My "working" smaller bottle of nic is kept in the fridge until I make batches of a few recipes several times a week. The larger glass bottles of Nic are kept in the deep freezer.

That's what I do. I haven't been diying but about 6 months, but the majority of my reasearch into how the diy gurus do it showed this is fine.

Hey you know how awesome you people are?

Bill, I mixed up a 10 ml batch of your Like No Other Watermelon last week; two days later had to mix it again. Now I'm on my third bottle and loving it! I don't know how it would be after steeping for a few weeks but I'm about to find out as I'm tired of mixing it in little bottles so I'm going to mix a 120ml batch today. Hopefully that will last me a few weeks lol. It is a very unique flavor with depth thanks for one more great recipe.:toast:
