I actually think your percentages are a bit low for me. I have mixed those in single flavors at higher percentages and they are good for me. The banana nut bread I am actually going to up that percentage on the next batch. I do appreciate any and all input, it gives me a starting point to see what works best for me.

really? like i said letting stuff steep or even speed steeping brings out the flavors i think people go over board maybe 2 percent more on each one. but going like 12%+ on those flavors is just too much fyi.

Banana Nut at 5% is plenty strong for me. I wouldn't go over 8%, it's a STRONG flavor.

I like the strong flavor of the banana nut bread. I mixed it at 5% nothing outrageous but I do think I will do the next batch at 6%.

I don't think I would taste black honey tobacco at 1%. I mixed it at 5% and it tastes ok but I am letting it steep. The irish cream I mixed at 10%.

I am just starting so it will take me a little time to see exactly what I like. I won't mix anything higher than what I have seen posted and usually a bit lower until I try it. There is no way for someone starting out to know exactly what % to use until they mix a few batches and try them. So far I am happy with my mixes and that is what counts in my book. Maybe your tastebuds are more sensitive than mine?

You are dead on with that statement! What matters most is if your happy with the mix. Doesn't matter what % it happens to be. Your vaping it and happy with it. Keep up the good work and enjoy.:D

Ok, maybe I've missed it in this thread or other threads... But how the heck do you make a plain jane menthol juice? I know this sounds stupid, but I can't seem to figure it out.

I tried the TFA liquid menthol at the recommended 1-3%, rest of it was nic/pg/vg, was shooting for a 50/50 at 6mg, and it came out nothing like an off the shelf menthol to me.

I like a simple menthol first thing in the morning, and also at night in a low mg version.

Should I look at adding different mints to it, or sweetener? Maybe a % that is greater than the 1-3%? Or, are my perceptions about the flavoring off?

if you have the goodies available, try this:
using 9.75 ml of your 6 mg @ 50/50 base, add:
0.5% Menthol (that's 1 drop)
0.5% Koolada (also 1 drop)
0.5% Spearmint (again 1 drop)
1% Sweetener or Cotton Candy (2 drops)
makes a good light and relaxing menthol vape..
I call it "Menthol Ice"
for a yummy variation, add 2% (4 drops) of
either Apple, Black Cherry, Juicy Peach or
Strawberry (Ripe).. Everything I use is TFA..

Actually, the simplest and most cost effective way to make menthol juice is to buy menthol crystals. I got mine here and now have a lifetime supply. Menthol Crystals | Wholesale USP from Bulk Apothecary

Fill a 4 ounce bottle with the crystals, then add unflavored PG, VG or PG/VG mix until they dissolve. This makes a strong menthol concentrate. Then just add a few drops to your unflavored nic base - experiment to see how many drops is right for you. It does increase in strength as it steeps, so be frugal with your drops. :) You can also add a touch of sweetener if you like - I have not found it necessary. Great menthol taste as is.

I think the key is mint. Menthol alone tastes like licking VaporRub to me.
I've noticed with some of my mints in RBAs the menthol separates and soaks the wick when they sit unused. It's strong menthol and not so good.

For mints I have Peppermint Banana as good. A "doublemint" peppermint-spearmint was an instant favorite and will probably replace Johnson Creek Tundra as my ADV (that was one I was worried about being able to find a DIY I liked as much).
They all get koolada and menthol but they're more for their minty effects than being the base.

If it's menthol cigarettes you're after naturally you would need some tobacco type flavor.

Ok, now I have a question. I saw the flavoring chart and it says 1-2 drops of caramel cappuccino to 10ml. Is that really correct? I just got some and want to see if I can mix up something close to the caramel cap I get from EC blends with xtra flavor.

Several of the flavors are very strong & caramel cappuccino is one of them. It also has a long steep time. You will find that many of the coffee, tobacco, chocolate & complicated flavors need longer steep times.

Yes, that is correct. The Caramel Cap. is very potent, you might want to start with a single drop.

BTW I really love the CaraCap recipe posted in this thread.

Can you point me in the direction of that recipe?

We've tried the Mango (separately and in 2 different recipes). The flavor itself is pretty good, but it's very weak...and if we 'up the flavor', the flavor seemed to change.

HS Mango is spot on at 5-6% (ditto for HS Pineapple)

Speaking of Pineapple, consider yourself warned about TFA Pineapple - yuck.

Oddly enough this makes me feel good about the prospects of the TFA pineapple which I have yet to try.

I found the pre-mixed HS pineapple to be harsh. I tempered it down by mixing in some pre-mixed bavarian cream and madagascar vanilla.

Perhaps the TFA pineaple will be right in my wheelhouse.

    ENJOY

I made this today.....I think I got it from the TFA recipie section. 4 Vapors tried it...We all really loved it.
It tastes like a very full bodied Hawaian Punch. Make, Shake and Vape

The Maker named it Tropic peach:

    TFA juicy peach 8%
    TFA pineapple 5%
    TFA mango 5%
    TFA pomegranate 3%
