I'm another lurker creeping out of the shadows, and I'd like to join the Community Mix-In. I've learned so much from you all in following this thread! I've only tried 2 mixes so far and I won't say they were failures but they sure weren't anything to rave about yet. I think I'd like to try something in the Vanilla/Custard range - and now I have an excuse to order all those flavors I've been drooling over. Thanks for the opportunity - this sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun!

Awesome!!!!!!!!! Glad to see more folks coming out of the woodwork!!!!!! Welcome to (as Bill said earlier) the good ship DIY! Order away ;)

Great idea Bill, I know you've been trying to find a way to get the community to be more active. I think you stumbled on a winner here!

I'll throw my name in, but we'll see if I actually get to mix anything. As is often the case, payday came and went, along with most of the funds. I'll try and get a nice TFA order in regardless, and I'm intrigued by the danish idea - I've only vaped pure fruits and a few of mints/methols, never a true dessert. Danishes are delicious though, so this is clearly a great first choice!
Glad you think so! And, happy to have your participation. Doesn't matter if you make it to the vape lab or not. Plenty of time for questions, suggestions, or what have you. Many thanks! :toast:

I wish I was in, but I'm not anywhere near the flavor mixers you all are. I'm still Busch League, and you all are F1.
LOL me too.

I would join but I use a whole lot of FA flavors, not only TFA, and I doubt I could make a danish flavor with only TFA, since I try to avoid anything with custard notes in it and most of the TFA bakery stuff has them.

We are not limited to TFA flavorings if TFA does not have a particular flavor. So, there's an exception for you. Those that don't think they can mix up a great juice should join for the participation, questions, learning, etc. that this kind of activity can foster. Few of us have everything in place this moment to be able to do this perfectly anyway. It's just a community thing and everyone's participation is helpful. I believe it is certainly possible to make a great Danish without custard notes too. many Danish have no custard in them, and custard flavoring can be made with two of the TFA creams mixed, neither with custard notes. It is possible, and that just presents an interesting challenge anyway, one that I would welcome. So, why not give it the old college try? Good luck!

I'm not sure what the ratio is that they use,but i have been diluting my ezsweetz by mixing 1ml of ezsweetz with 9ml of pg.It's still really sweet, but not as much as it is without diluting.I used to use it straight, that's some sweeeeet stuff haha, and it also gunks up a wick and coil super fast when using straight, but not too bad after being cut with pg.

I wondered how ppl were using that stuff. It's silly sweet! I pondered adding it to another flavor I had here from candy making-because its inherently un-sweet (when it should be). However, it seems to have run away from home!

I can't WAIT to get some darn cream cheese icing-READ ----- Jealous, Jealous, Jealous  lol

Hello all!

Fantastic response to the Vape Meet here online. Thought I would clarify a few points.

The vape meet starts tomorrow and ends on Sunday, October 19, 2014. I know that not everyone has everything they may need, so that's why we have 15 days to figure out what we want to do, and enough time to get to it.

We will be trying to construct a Danish recipe. The recipes that get posted will only have the flavorings and their percentages. We don't expect any mixes to have more than 30% flavoring, but that is up to you.

The most important part of these efforts is our communications here on this thread. Ask questions, provide suggestions, provide mixes, etc. Just keep track of what you're doing and tell us all about it.

There is no one way, or final recipe. In fact, everyone may end up with a different recipe, and that's fine, more food for thought, and a lot of options for us all to try.

I see the flavoring as the doughy bread component and the sweet internal component. As such, the flavoring will be about 50/50 for the two components, but this can vary wildly by taste.

Use the taste test 100 drop method to test creations and test them immediately, and report findings. After flavor bonding and steeping, feel free to taste test again and report any changes, or lack thereof.

So, communication and supporting our community are the most important elements. IF we end up making the best Danish on Earth, well, then, lucky us!

We have no idea how this will work out as I'm not aware of similar efforts anywhere on ECF, so we'll just have to see and play it all by ear, so to speak.

There is no right or wrong, just contributions here. The journey is what is important, and helping one another.

There is NO LIST. Anyone can participate and we everyone to do just that. We have the common goal of making the best Danish we can, and there is no one flavoring, or fruit, or what have you. All contributions are welcome! :toast:

There may be other elements and good advice, but this is all I can think of now. :D

See you tomorrow!

:2cool:

This ought to be an AMAZING learning experience! I myself, cannot WAIT to try out some of the new stuff I have coming (and I see I'm going to have to get more LOL) woohooo

*sniff sniff*

Do I smell? Everyone ran away!

If I smell like anything, it's menthol! Just brewed a quick batch up of 100ml for my FIL. I wore gloves and somehow I still smell like that stuff!:w00t:

Has anyone here worked with the menthol crystals? Have I asked this before? (please excuse if I have-no one mentioned when I got in a race car near 20 years ago that when one whacks ones head because 8 cars hit you, it's possible to forget something that happened 3 seconds ago lol CONSTANTLY  ) If someone has answered this, please just point me in the right direction lol

By the way, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE ON A LIST TO PARTICIPATE, and everyone is invited to participate. Anyone can post to this topic anytime, and we sincerely welcome all your participation! Don't let: :tumble::tumble: :tumble:

:2cool:

Lastest, I think. Let me know if I missed anyone, please.

I know Domo quite well. I used to buy my carto tanks from them. Their GP SnP Tank is the best carto tank on the market, imho. The glass is a bit thin, so buy extra tanks, You'll need 'em if you drop your gear, like I do:

https://domovaporco.com/product/gp-salt-pepper-tank-v2/

Very nice stuff! Your vape just improved rather dramatically, my friend. I have nine GT's now, just about the only thing I use anymore:

https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10009199/1632903-taifun-gt-style-rebuildable-atomizer-5-0ml

Make sure and get the Taifun GT "B" models. They have A's and B's. The B's have slightly wider wick slots. Makes a difference. I use KGD in these, and it's really hard to beat, compared with anything, short of a good dripper. Speaking of that, I did get an original dripper, but FT has these as well:

https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10006709/1766602-taifun-gt-nano-kit. Only $6.00. Changes the Taifun GT to a dripper, which is not bad, imho, and quite easy to change in and out

BTW, I have two originals and the rest clones, mostly from Fasttech. The Fasttech ones are really good. I can't tell them apart anymore. I have no idea which are the originals....  :D :vapor:

:2cool:

Edit, you can get the replacement mini tanks in all plastic for about a buck a piece. Fantastic for taste testing. 100 drops, new tank. 100 drops, new tank. Works great!

I bought ten of these: https://www.fasttech.com/p/1699501. The plastic caps will break so I got half a dozen of these:

https://www.fasttech.com/p/1815401

I bought 20 additional colored and clear tanks, 10 in the short, another 10 in the tall 5 ml tanks. Doesn't matter if I drop 'em, kill them with the wrong juice, or anything else, I've got plenty and again, you simply cannot beat their pricing. I just love their hardware pricing. I used to buy a lot of mods from them too, but I think eVic is their top of the line, or perhaps Sigelei, both pretty good regulated China mods.

Got the missus this one: https://www.fasttech.com/p/1814501. She loves it, and it works perfectly. Another on order now.

You're not going to believe this, but I received 51 drip tips yesterday. Yes, I have a sickness. I like the wide bore ones (more airflow), and I like my bling. All different ones. Eleven more on order that haven't shipped yet. What can I say?

I got six of these: https://www.fasttech.com/p/1632903.

Nothing fast about Fasttech, but phenomenal pricing that can't be beat! :rickroll: I like your VapeQuest very much, Mike!!! :toast:

I've been pretty busy the last few days and come back to a vape meet going on!

I wish I could participate but we are going on a hiking trip in a few days. :( I'll be back on the 10th, but then my sister will be up visiting for the weekend (and I am going to a birthday party for one of my granddaughters on Saturday), so I wouldn't be able to do anything until the 13th. I also need to order more flavorings. I can't order them until next Friday. I don't want them delivered while we are gone. Booooooooooo

I am really excited about the hiking trip though. It's my first one since I started vaping! No more having to pack out cigarette butts and I can breath so much easier.
