Hey all...

Well as a bonus of the 0 degree weather yesterday I got a real bonus!

I come home today from a uneventful Rx refil trip at my physicians to hear "running water", LOTS OF RUNNING WATER.....

A Yup, the ole' frozen, split, blowd up PVC water pipe routine....gonna make the plumbers OT tomorrow as of course they could not come out today...

I just love the cold weather......not to mention I am building a new ice skating rink on my property adjacent to my house.....

I knew there was a reason to get a home on 5 acres! :vapor:

Thank goodness we have Light, Gas and Water idiot forgiveness! (they will credit us for weather related issues like burst pipes). :thumb:

We left our faucets dripping for the last 2 nights; pretty standard down here in the south, when there's abnormally cold weather, because the water pipes aren't buried very deeply down here. So our water bill might be a bit high, but at least we have no burst pipes. Last night might not have been a huge issue, 19 degrees, which isn't terribly abnormal in January, but the night before, 13 degrees -- definitely a water-dripping night! We left 'em dripping both nights, just to be on the safe side. Looks like tonight will also get down to 19, so we'll do the dripping thing again tonight -- gotta be cheaper to pay a slightly higher water bill than pay a plumber and whoever else to mend the damage of burst pipes.

I really disliked ALL coffee flavored vapes for a LOOOOOOOOONG time after I started vaping, but I've finally found one I can work with, if I add a lot of other stuff to it -- the Inawera Cappucino, at 3%, with 2 diff TFA chocolates (milk and double-dark), french vanilla creme, sweetener, and some CAP hazelnut and CAP sweet cream, plus some INW Virginia tobacco Absolute, and this very-smoky mothersmilkWTA -- in fact I call the recipe "Smoky cappucino". I'm actually on the trail of a high-PG ersatz "Long Bottom Leaf" (pipe sauce), and it's not quite there yet, but it's getting closer and closer.

Right on. Coffee's my favorite, actually. FA's regular coffee flavor is a staple in most of my mixes. ( https://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/p-6257-coffee-flavor.aspx )

It is a pitch black color though and gunks wicks/coils, so I dry-burn coils and rewick every day. Wicks be damned though because I gotta have that coffee.

I love mixing variations with FA's double chocolate, milk chocolate, caramel, hazelnut, graham cracker, banana bread, etc...
Coffee and chocolate are staples in my ADV. Everything's better with coffee and a semi-dark tasting chocolate. :)

If I was mixing one now I'd do something like...

FA Regular Coffee - 2%
Double Chocolate - 4%
Milk Chocolate - 3%
Caramel - 5%

A touch of hazelnut too couldn't hurt.

That'll do me all day long :vapor:

I've got another of Inawera's you might like, "Coffee Tobacco"... and you can actually taste both! I'll have to play with it a good bit though, because I dislike unsweetened coffee intensely, and there's not even a hint of sweetness in it. Now that I understand more about adding all the other ingredients, I might be able to make something really good with it.

I haven't been terribly impressed with any of the chcolate vapes I've tasted, but I haven't yet tried to do one of my own; with my Smoky Cappucino, the chocolate is very much a background note, not obvious at all, but it wrestles the bitterness of european coffee right to the mat. The hazelnut was a spur of the moment addition to an already pretty good recipe, but it adds a lot; it's a really dry sort of taste, but it adds complexity. I really need another kayfun, because I'm vaping it so much, from a carto, and yeah it's apparently a real gunker, so those cartos aren't lasting too long with it. :D

Oh trust me we do the same (I am in TN) and no stranger to the 0 degree weather this time of year....

The house we bought almost 5 years ago (then was 11 yrs old) was built by a pretty nice couple of retired school teachers...(nothing wrong with school teachers my wife is a retired educator)....anyway dOOd wasn't the brightest ornament on the tree as he decided he wanted water out to the pool area, and the barn (200 yrds from the house) and would do it himself...

Seems he used indoor rated PVC as opposed to outdoor and the "tap" and subsequent feeder line is a tad bit thin, and also not buried real deep... well long story short when we had some work done on the feed line to the back 40 and found out it was indoor rated PVC I should have capped it off where he "Teed" into it....I didn't and well it finally meet god!

Tomorrow when the guys get here, I am going to fix it right....CAP IT! Then come summer if we want to we will re-do it with the correct stuff!

We don't have live stock or horses, so no need for water at the barn, and the pool is close enough that I have plenty of hoses that will reach (it's fairly close to the house)....

Live and learn....

BTW: I do have a rather nice lake forming on the property though.....

Just curious, for testing batches what would be the best route to go? Should I pick up just a cheap dripper and swap out the cotton each time? I haven't done any coil building or anything but I wouldn't need anything amazing just to get a feel for the flavor. For the last year and a bit I have just been using a VTR, so no dripping or anything, but I have my second Cloupor T8 coming soon, first one died after 2 hours randomly (they figure a lose wire or something, mailed a new one out right away) so I only got a little taste of better clouds :p

An RBA or RTA (what I use) works pretty well. When mixing, I don't change out the wick in most cases, though using 100DT or about 3mls, I have a small tank to get through and after about 20 vapes, really didn't matter what was on the wick to start with. Otherwise, I would have to trade out the wick. Should work fine for you.

Man I feel for ya Brother! Your great sense of humor must get you through a lot! You have me in stitches over here!

It's freezing here too. We dipped below 50 yesterday, and I nearly froze. Wow.

Hang in there! All the best! :toast:

Bill I remember a few of your recipes that use a FW flavor. Other than their lemon cake, what else was there?

That requires some thought, my friend. As a rule, I try to keep those recipes to a minimum on this thread. I do use a few FW flavors. Oreo cookies is to die for, OMG!
Peanut Butter Cup is great! A few more, but generally for very specific targeted flavorings, for which there is not a TFA substitute is the only time. Same with LorAnn's Cheesecake Icing. Wowzer! A little goes a long way, but spot on. So, a few. It's hard for me to look at all of these flavorings and not buy a few of everything, but I do try to stick with TFA for most of my juice, and try to avoid a lot of recipes on this thread. :toast:

Hello I've been making DIY juice for about 3 or 4 years now. Vaping mostly peach and strawberry. Feel pretty stupid now that I've found this thread cause I only use one flavor and can never get a good peach or strawberry. Now I got some clue as to why. Just wanted to say hi, now back to reading this huge thread. Looks like I'm going to learn a lot that I should have learned years ago lol

You're in the right place but I would be sure to sign up for government assistance as soon as you can, because you'll be broke in no time!

Bill can send you the direct deposit form for TFA, that way you won't have to actually see you paycheck vanishing, you just won't see it! LOL

Just joking around...you'll find I have a slight sense of humor...

Welcome!

These are some great folks here with some super recipes! :thumb:

I do have a question:

I remember seeing somewhere the amount of Ethyl Maltol Crystals per ml to add to PGA or PG to make Cotton Candy, but alas I am stupid and forget where I saw the measurement, and of course I did not write it down anywhere; I want to make like 4 oz. at a time.

Homer_Doh.jpg

Bill would you perhaps have the equation handy?

Thx in advance!

I can't get EM to taste like Cotton Candy. I've tried repeatedly. I only buy the cotton candy now. Maybe someone else has the magic formula. :2c:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...stals-mixing-ratio-pg-create-sweetener-2.html

Looks like roughly 1/4 tsp to 10ml of PG, or 1 gram of crystals to 10ml of PG. Bill doesn't use EM, sticks with the TFA Cotton Candy (which is supposed to be slightly different). This gives a 10% Solution.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...iscussion/623311-ethyl-maltol-crystal-pg.html

However, there is also people saying that 1 gram should be diluted into 17ml of PG for a proper solution. This gives a 5.5% solution (supposedly the highest you should go).

My advice would be google it and read through the different ECF threads that pop up, and make your own call.
