FWIW, I "eyeball"creams in recipes in the following way: to smooth out a flavor I generally add cream/vanilla flavors so that it (whatever combination you use) is 50% of the primary flavor. (sweetener and secondary flavors vary and are calculated separately at much lower percentages).

To make creamy flavors, my ratios start off at a 1:1 ratio of primary to total cream/vanilla combination. (sweetener and secondary flavors vary and are calculated at much lower percentages).

That should give a good start and are, of course, adjusted to taste.

The one exception I have found is dulce de leche. It's quite strong and I've found that by volume I generally use just about half as much as any other cream in a flavor.

For example, I mix Strawberry milk at 10% strawberry, 2% strawberry ripe (I consider this combination to be a total 12% primary), 6% dulce de leche.

This is a pretty simple recipe but quite nice. :) I can't figure it out but some people say they taste chocolate *boggle*

Recently I've been adding 1% orange and it's quite nice :)

I dont even mess with bills recipes anymore. Got tired of making 5ml samples and blah blah blah. Now i know that we must have the same taste so when i make one i just do 30ml and follow the recipe to the T.
Im also wanting to find a good recipe for orange sherbet and i am ready to strangle someone trying to make a good pineapple. (I have more creams and vanillas on the way). So if you have any luck with the sherbet recipe please share. (Hint Hint Mr Bill)

I make a decent orange dreamcycle. Probably as close as I get to a sherbet. I also have a good Tropical Paradise which is pineapple and coconut, I believe. I coud be wrong, I just know I have one or two pineapple recipes. The pineapple is a tank cracker, btw, so be careful! Good luck! :toast:

ok making bubble burst recipe now. and Gonna try candy apple with rasp instead of Apple.....not crazy about Apple. but I don't see any creams in your candy apple recipe.

Because candy apple is different than a normal fruit recipe. TFA makes half a dozen or so candy mixes and they are very useful and don't require creams in the same way as primary fruits. Very useful....I recommend that after you've made the basic recipes to add the candy TFA flavorings as they provide flavorings that we can't get to any other way with TFA. :toast:

I use dulce de leche at 2% more or less, though I generally don't include them in my thinking of creams. Interesting. For a great cereal flavoring, though, I don't think they can be beat. A must have! :toast: :D

Please note that these are all recommendations from people on the thread and are not to be treated as gospel. They are just some suggestions and percentages that worked for them

Originally from gunderpersonn

"Before adding my additions, I'd like to add something to the conversation. One reason why I continue to use TFA is because she really does her research. Hey gang, I've started reading this from the first thread. I see these lists that keep growing and have a newb question for ya. What are the percentages and the...4/5, 5/5 digits that follow the percentages? Are the %'s for using that particular flavor as a base and what of the other entry 4/5 ect? What are these lists trying to tell me? Help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks

Dragon's Blood is a fruit vape. What is your take on it? All that really matters, and what are you looking for? Adjust to suit your taste.

My take is a very sweet fruit concoction:

Dragon's Blood

Dragon Fruit - 10%
Cotton Candy - 5%
Strawberry - 5%
Bavarian Cream - 4%
Vanilla Cupcake - 2.5%
Sweet Cream - 2%
Vanilla Swirl - 1.5%

Sounds like it might not be your go-to juice? :toast: :D

Here's a question for you. I recently visited a local shop that makes some pretty amazing liquids. I had taken in one I concocted using Capella's Dragon Fruit. The mixer dude then brings out his Dragon's Blood mix for me to try. It had a nutty type flavor and when I commented on it, was told that Dragon Fruit has a white and red side, and that the tangy, bright flavor in mine was from the red side and the nutty flavor was from the white. He also mention getting his (from the Philippines, it think) completely organic, cold-pressed.

I am super interested in obtaining some of this, although the cold-pressed part or even the organic part is of little concern. I just want that flavor.

Is TFA's Dragon Fruit like this? If not do you know where I can get it?

For the most part, I have not had good luck with flavor substitutions, or even brand substitutions. Most of these recipes will taste differently even with slight adjustments in percentages, let alone total changes in flavorings. :2c: :toast: :D

Forgiveness please :)

Great story! Thank you. I don't know the answer to your question, but TFA may know. Why not write them a quick email and ask that very interesting question. They respond extremely well to questions like these. I've had great talks on the phone as well with Linda and others. Might try them. Good luck! :toast: :D

Bill for TFA - Orange mandarin or orange cream or both ?
Different flavours yes but which one would be more useful in most recipes ?

The TFA orange is very intense. When I just want a background orange, I like the orange cream. When I want an intense Agent Orange, I need the extract. My preference is orange cream and I use it in at least two recipes. Good luck! :toast:

I made a pretty good orange cream. I've always been dying for a really orange cream sherbert type vape. I've tried a few in the past and eh they just weren't it. This one came out pretty good imo:

Orange Sickle
Orange Cream - 6%
Marshmallow - 5%
Smooth - 2%
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - 2%
Whipped cream - 2%

It's not my recipe I found it online - I may have changed it a bit cuz I normally do. I really wanted a cream with orange thrown in.

The % listed is a reccomended starting point for each flavor as a stand alone flavor, usually when mixing them with other flavors, they will go quite a bit lower. As for the 4/5,5/5 etc. that was whoever made that lists rating of each flavor, basically 4 out of 5 stars, etc. type rating.

i saw that one on reddit also and saved it away, but have not mixed it myself. the person that posted it said it was his version of the cereal killa:

by jordan917:
fruit circles - TFA - 8%
berry crunch - TFA - 5%
lemon - TFA - 3%

I'm thinking of using this same percentage breakdown and replacing lemon with Dulce De Leche @ 3% ... I feel like the lemon is already pretty pronounced in the fruit circles

Don't mean to interrupt the conversation. But I need to ask the TFA mix gurus. :)

You know how some vapes you take have a inhale and exhale taste? Is this achieve by combining a flavor later on the mix say a few hours? Days? Or do you just mix all the flavors at once?

The way I'm mixing currently is nic, flavors, PG/VG. Hot water soak and shake. Does it matter the order of ingredients going in the bottle?

Just wondering. Thanks.
