Mix a solution of 10% citric acid. I use 2 drops per 5ml for for normal mixes, and 3 or 4 drops per ml for fruit mixes.

On a side note to all you out there mixing TART fruit concoctions...you can experiment with SMALL amounts of diluted citric acid to add tartness to your mixes!

I highly suggest using TFA Tart and Sweet as your base agent like as in the Star Burst recipe....

Jus' say'in.....:toast:

I tried out Unicorn Milk today (not my recipe - I picked it up somewhere) and it seems to be very good. I also tried out a new experiment. Usually when attempting something new I take a little bit of water and add drops of flavour according to the percentages (i.e 6% = 6 drops etc.), swirl it round my mouth and spit out. That already gives me a general idea of whether I would like it or not. Today I attempted a further step - finding out what the vapour might smell like. So I put my testing water in a s/steel jug and heated it until I had some vapour coming off. It more or less worked so now I also know what the Unicorn Milk will smell like when I actually vape it.

I did test a little of the finished mix in a small clearo and it already tastes pretty good but I'm still going to give it a little rest.

You might also try scent strips. They work great for testing the scent of the juices and flavors. I use them all the time, or did. I pretty much know the taste and scent of most of the flavors. Helps big time in a mix. Also, combining multiple flavors will substantially change the taste and scent of individual flavorings, so you can't rule out any flavoring based on its taste and scent alone. All part of the wonderful DIY journey. I believe TFA still sells the scent strips. They would be more accurate than diluting the flavoring in water, or whatever, then testing by smell.

Developing ones sense of smell is the primary way that we can fairly easily copy the juice that others make, and long before we start mixing. I can generally detect the flavoring of at least four flavors in the juice, so it provides a pretty good way to copy those retail juices that we like. Back in the day, when vendors asked me to copy those "other" juices, for their own lines, I could generally copy and improve any juice (not tobacco) within 24 hours, and have it on the street for sale. I had to give that up because I'm just too busy these days at work, but I enjoyed it immensely, and hope to get back to it next year. I've shared a few of those experiences here on this thread. Give it a try. Wonderful skill to develop and mostly by scent. Good luck! :toast: :D

Winging it a bit here --

Someone mentioned making Bill's Starburst up with some Key Lime but I guess I missed the recipe -- I tried making this up just now:

(60/40 VG/PG ratio)
Key Lime 10%
Vanilla Swirl 5%
Sweet Cream 4%
Sweet & Tart 3%

Will see how it goes and report!

I swear I could vape key lime in motor oil and I'd like it. :D

Hi all!

We sometimes miss these in the forum headers, and this is VERY important!

ECF Call to Action

Please take a look to see if the affects you and act accordingly! :thumb:
If i did my math right, that's $9.00 in taxes on a 30ml bottle?? That's just insane! I remember when the last big tobacco tax hit CA back in like 2010 and the price of my beloved Bali Shag went from $5 to over $10 overnight!

Good thing I stopped buying juice back in November!

Yes and no!

This is by all accounts VERY alarming that 29 states (2 of which are only trying to ban vaping where smoking is banned), meaning over 1/2 the US is being pumped full of monies from big tobacco and big pharma to regulate or ban something without ANY true scientific data!

All I can say is VOTE, VOTE, and DON'T Re-ELECT! :thumb:

And I will be more aggressively buying Nic!

We have true scientific data; it just shows that vaping is much safer than smoking which gets in the way of the government agenda. Government, at all levels, thinks that vaping is taking money from them so it must be banned or taxed greater than smoking to keep the government afloat.

This is what Bill had posted some time ago:

Vanilla Swirl 5%
Sweet Cream 4%
Sweet & Tart 3%

:toast:
I have posted perhaps three or four starburst recipes, but don't recall a key lime one, my friend. If I did, then, I don't remember, but if credit goes to someone else, I certainly want them to get it. Someone will check it out and let us know. I too love the key lime, but not as an ADV. A little goes a long way for me. A couple of hours perhaps, but, to each their own. Many thanks! :toast: :D

This is the one Starburst I have of Bill's

Pink Starburst

Strawberry - 8%
Sweet Cream - 4%
Vanilla Swirl - 4%
Cotton Candy - 2%
Sweet and Tart - 2%
Very good! I have also posted a grape starburst, one of my favorites, and a watermelon starburst, one of my daughter's favorites, and that's all I can remember, at the moment. Ciao! :toast: :D

Interestingly enough, the base of sweet cream, vanilla swirl, cotton candy and sweet and tart can be added to any fruit (percentage will vary), and I have not yet found a flavor that it doesn't work well with it yet. I have posted this base in my blogs and written about it before. Good luck in your creations! :toast: :D

Dave,

What I had meant was these politicians have are basing their platform of anti-vape on nothing, no scientific data, NADA!

They are basing their stand on the monies being stuffed in their pockets!

And yes indeed they HAVE to keep smoking alive to pay the tobacco bond loans back!

It was me that posted the recipe but I really have to tip my hat to Bill for the whole Starburst inspiration. ;)

Key Lime is a GREAT TFA flavor. The recipe was very good. Having said that, I do have to agree that it is one that I would probably not want to be my regular ADV. Not because it isn't good - it really is good - but it's also strong and vaping 50ml of it was a little tough on my taste buds and the back of my throat.

I'll definitely be mixing this up at least semi-regularly, but most likely keeping it in a rotation with other flavors rather than vaping a bottle of it exclusively from start to finish.

Hello everyone. Blame it on Larry, he told me to come here.....:D

Still reading blogs and stickys, probably a week or two from first order. Mostly interested in simple single or dual flavors for now, just to find what I like and don't like in DIY. Like the idea of 8ml bottles, if it sucks I'm out maybe $1.49 or something like that.
Anyways, I like flavored tobaccos- RY4, Vanilla Tobaccos, Caramel Tobaccos, etc.. I was wondering if TFA provides a good mild to mild- medium tobacco flavor that might work well with other flavors, such as DX Caramel or DX Hazelnut. Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks

Back to researching for now....

I've got some berry crunch and fruit circles coming (first order on the official TFA website! :D). I would like to make a cereal liquid because it's much hyped the last couple of months and I wanna see what it's al about. Anyhow has a good recipe for berry crunch and fruit circles? :)

Fruit Circles 8%
Berry Crunch 4%
Sweetener %3
Dulce De Leches 2%

Enjoy!
