Ok, Im sure its been mentioned here and there plenty of times (but this thread has gotten huuuuuuge since I subscribed last year) but Id like to know what order you guys mix everything in, since were talking about all this stirring and aerating and whatnot.. Is there a 'correct' or preferred order to mix everything?? As I said earlier Im mixing directly into my blue 60ml dropper bottles. I usually start with a HDPE 50ml conical vial, fill it to 30ml with VG, then throw my straight PG in there with it, which then gets poured into the bottle, add flavorings, add nic and shake and bake.. The only 'tip' I can recall about the mixing order was someone somewhere in this thread mentioned they always put the nic in last because of the 'taste' it adds to the flavorings.. Does it even really matter what order it goes in? Ive done it before with all the nic and pg ingredients first and then did the VG last because its heavier and I figured it would sink down and mix better but Ive never really noticed any difference..

I mix in this order: PG, VG, nicotine, WTA... then add the flavors, going down the recipe one at a time so I don't miss anything. I've found that if I skip around in the recipe, it leads to confusion.. "did I add this yet?" so I've learned to write my recipes in the order in which I'll mix them, so the written directions don't confuse me! :D

Not sure if the order makes any difference, but the way I do it is,add all my flavors first, then shake them together, add pg shake again, then Nic and and another shake then vg and a final shake.

strange how we all do it differently. I do it the same as b.m except the last two. I do flavors, Pg, vg and then nic. I never really gave it much thought except if I goofed on the flavors I could start over easy enough. The nic last because that is something I want to handle least

Picked up a bottle of Oatmeal Cookie the other day. I searched this thread to see if anyone had any experience but only a few mentions about getting it but no recipes. The bottle has a good tint so it's probably not weak. Of course an Oatmeal Cream Pie comes to mind. Think i'll search the DIY Recipe Section before I make something up. If anything good comes out of it will post back.

High Flavor Mixes (HFM) will get you great tasting juice immediately to perhaps 24 hours. Low Flavor Mixes require steeping, often one or more weeks to find out if you have a good mix. I almost quit juice making waiting for a decent juice to arrive, before discovering HFM. This thread, at least for a year or more, has been often about HFM, of which I am a fan and a proponent. I have a number of blogs on the subject if you are interested.

That being said, vaping is an at your own risk kind of activity. If you are not comfortable with HFM, then, by all means, go low and slow. They both will get you to the same place, it's just much harder, and certainly much longer, to mix low. and slow compared with HFM. To each their own. Do what feels right for you. There's no right or wrong way. Good luck to you! :toast: :D

thanks Bill I kind of figured that from some of the info I have read and I did read some of your blogs I get a little lost in forums at times

Regarding mixing order, there's only one vital rule that you must follow. If you use tank cracker flavorings (PG), you must add all the other PG flavorings and any unflavored PG together first, BEFORE you add the tank cracker flavoring. If you don't, you will get the dreaded white milky coloring, as if your syringe melted, or the bottle melted, etc. This is only because those tank cracker flavorings are not water soluble. So, if you don't dilute with other PG and add directly to the VG or VG Nic, it won't mix, as VG is full or water. Other than that, the order really doesn't matter too much. However you do it, and keep track of it, is the best way for you. So, follow this one rule, you won't have any problems. Good luck! :toast: :D

Oatmeal Cookie TFA

Oatmeal Cookie 10%
Marshmallow 4%
Sweet Cream 3%
Brown Sugar .5%
EM .5%

15 ml batch 6mg nic max VG. ultrasonic seven 8 min cycles with 100 shakes between. taste test with Derringer RDA 26 ga dual parallel coils 5 wraps .13 ohms. smell test by removing RDA top, hit the fire button and inhale through nose the vapor. it will make you sneeze but an easy way to differentiate the flavors present.

flavor is very similar to the smell from the concentrate. the concentrate doesn't really smell like an oatmeal cookie to me so the recipe doesn't either. I can pick up the brown sugar and think I could have left it out of the recipe. I think this is a fail but will let it steep a few days before tossing. if I decide to give it another try will lower the oatmeal to 3% and maybe add some FA cookie to help replace it.

For those that get bulk nicotine, will it be ok for me to store it in the freezer in the plastic liter container it comes in until I can get a couple 500ml bottles.
It'll be fine for a while..even a couple months if unopened..even sitting in a closet.

I would recommend though getting something smaller than 500 ml bottles for storage. I use 60 ml amber boston round bottles. I used to use 120s but it takes too long to go through one and you get more oxidation than I like.

glassbottleoutlet.com has some good prices and fast ship times for glassware. You might want to check them out.

Thank you! I was just thinking to get larger bottles like two 500ml or 4 240ml to keep in freezer and pour into a 60 when ready to use then put the larger bottle back in the freezer for next time. Guessing though that reopening it several times would not be good for it.

There's a big thread with them around here somewhere. For the most part, TFA tells you in their descriptions on their website, although a few that don't have made their way into the ECF tank cracker list go figure..

This is precisely why I store mine in 30ml bottles; I never make much juice at once, and one 30ml bottle of 100mg nicotine lasts me a couple months to use up; i don't want a bottle of nicotine opened more than that. also, the small bottles store very easily; I use the same box they came in, and just stack 'em up. Takes very little space.
